- In this video I show how to replace the ignition lock cylinder and door lock cylinder on a 2003 Dodge Ram. I also show how to rekey the lock cylinder to accept the original key.
I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.

I get a bit of the butter fingers as I’m getting older.
Wow what a lot of great detail, thanks.✝
Great video. ought to help someone doing these tasks.
Glad to see you post again. Did you guys get to go camping very often this season? Hows the apprenticeship going?
I’ve been trying to post a video at least once a month. We went camping a few times, Not as much as we would have liked to go. We will probably go more next year. My daughter is out on her own doing pretty well working at a local dealership, so that’s good.
Excellent video.
Thank you I appreciate that.
Torks 20? Hell Yeah
Hey Jason video helped a lot. Got mine removed. Maybe you might be able to offer some advice. I've had a bad parasitic drain for some time. I tracked it down to the ignition switch. I have a bad key cylinder, I'm pretty sure I could start it with a screwdriver. I was wondering if this could be causing the ignition switch to stay engaged in some way when the vehicle is off.
The key cylinder and the ignition switch are separated. The key cylinder will turn a rod that will turn the ignition switch. If the key cylinder isn’t turning back to the off position then it could be causing a drain but my money would be on the ignition switch itself if you traced the drain to the switch staying on.
@@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic The switches arent very hard on the bank, guess ill just replace that too since I already have it all opened up. Thanks for the help.
Hey Jason where did you get the parts for the door cylinder??
This is the kit I got.

I'd remove all the wafers then run it like that.
You would always have the right key.
