  • Well it HAPPENED! My First Can Am problem!! The belt box (CVT system) filled up with water, just after having the cover off when the STM 3RS clutch was installed. Turns out was a major leak. BUT was it a simple fix?? I will walk you through the process during Shop Talk #2

    @SCOTIAN_ Před 3 lety

    I got my clutches wet , last weekend for some reason 😂🤣. Also like you I had water coming out the back of the clutch box , around one of the bolts that holds the cover on. Today I think I’m gonna use the hose and fill the box back up and see if it’s still doing it. Then clean all the clutches.

    • @ADVENTURESThisWay
      @ADVENTURESThisWay  Před 3 lety +1

      Ya I saw that!
      The only issue I’m told is if your o-ring leak you could possibly get some water by and into the transmission. But if it’s clean water for a few minutes...helps clean up

    oh man I know that feeling, I had a stick or rock come up through the left side A arm and shear off the 4LOK plunger allowing all the front diff oil to pour out and mud to pour back in. by the time I was aware of a problem the diff had destroyed itself. My 2021 is 2 weeks old at this time. better days ahead!!!!

      back already and running great, $2000 later. BRP are considering paying half so fingers crossed for that $1000 bucks back.
      I did get front Can Am Aluminum A arm guards that protect the 4LOK plunger better than the stock guards.
      highly recommend the guards, they cover way more and look great

      @EC_ATV_Outdoors Před 3 lety

      When your done washing use SC1 or pledge. Pledge is good on a budget, but SC1 is way better. I don't wipe SC1 off either.
      Use that and it'll have a showroom shine every time. Plus it helps the dirt come off the next time

    Coat your gaskets with a very thin film of die-electric grease…. On both sides.
    Never use impact wrenches on the belt cover bolts…. On or off.

    • @Broknex
      @Broknex Před 3 lety

      If you use the wrong kind of grease, it will eat the rubber gasket. Be careful. If you feel you must do this, use only white lithium grease. Will not degrade the rubber.
