Since he didn’t give a direct answer- It took me 2 days; roughly 20 hours to wrap my SUV by myself first time wrapping. People are commonly surprised I did it myself, I’m kinda a twat for details and I’m happy with it.
I didn’t do my jams since my car was black, I used satin wrap that was crazy easy to use.
Think about doing this on a hyundai genesis. How much did it cost you and how’s it holding up?
@@thejoshuaarzu3159 depends on who the wrap manufacturer is. I used KPMF and it was about $400.00, it’s held up very well. However Avery vs 3M or on the very high end inozetek all have different price points. Just make sure to research the specific wrap you intend on doing as some only can be applied in a specific direction.

There is not average answer tbh because it all comes down to personal preference to the customer if he wants it wrapped deep meaning inside the door he might have to remove all the door handle’s and parts were as a person who doesn’t care might take less time due to less labor

Because it's a business move. They don't want to reveal their prices over the phone. If there are other locations that can probably do it for less which means they lose out on business.

@@edgarmorales5257 From what I understand, it's because their service can't actually compete in the open market, so they don't give you any prices, meaning you can't compare them with others.
I’ve been doing this 21 years. The correct answer is it always varies. It’s a custom job and depends on the options and the vehicle. I’ve done hundreds of color changes and it ranges fro 12-30 hours of labor.

Well they wrapped my lip spoiler and when I took it off for another kind of spoiler I noticed they cut in to my clear coat. Still trying to buff it out .But I guess the new spoiler will cover it up. But just to say ..good wrappers and bad wrappers.

Because black hides any bits that arent fully covered. Less.parts removal etc. Black car you can cut down the door seams etc and if a little black shows its never noticable. Red/yellow etc needs parts removed to make sure you have full.coverage.
good wrappers use fishing line and barely use a knife. this guys is dragging a blade across the paint which is not how it should be done.
I would have also thought that the design of a car also may be a factor.
Why does the color of the paint underneath the wrap matter?
Because the paint sometimes changes the color apperance of vehicle.like when your highlighthing something you do it with 2 colors and you can see other color under. The thickness matters also as for transparency. I will start my first wrap on my personal vehicle with expensive forged carbon fiber 1 of 2 in the USA

So another words no answer. As a professional wrap car guy to be safe 100 ft × 5ft to do your exterior only for the size a charger or Honda accord the bigger the car and Jambs 150ftx5ft.

How does the color matter? You are applying over the top of the surface. As long as the clear is clean and smooth, why would it's color matter?

Because black cars blend with every wrap color easily, while a yellow car for example would take alot more small detail just to hide the yellow in small crevices of the car

I wrap coupes in roughly 3 days depending on my work schedule. Sedans like a Nissan Sentra take me 3-5 days also depending on my life schedule.
I don't know what this guy means by "the color" because I always use exotic colors from greens to pearl blues to purples/pinks to golds/yellows and I don't notice any time difference.

Wait. I thought about it.. is it because you can do a lazy job and not get the wrap into spaces between doors and stuff, so a yellow car would have yellow lines showing whereas a black car would blend in with the shade in grooves?

A true professional can wrap in 2 hours 30 min max. Doesn't matter size or brand.
