- No review yet, but here’s a first look at Haiboxing’s first RC Boat! Test run, some instructions on usage. Gotta compare that to the old school Skytech H101 which was the rage way back when. Comparing the transmitters. Haiboxing has fake buttons too! No!

I own several HBX Rc's and have a blast with all of them. I believe this is a HBX first for a RC boat. Great boat for the price. Many nice features & extra's. I have had a blast running mine. Most of my run time is in my pool with once at a lake. Great to open er up. My only issue was with the Lo Bat % and beep. Mine would start warning me @ 61% - instructions say 21-30% Good run time - just an inaccurate reading. HBX customer service is top notch and taking care of the problem. They are also going to clarify the correct steps for "calibrating". Instructions start off with placing the boat in water, then next step is pushing upper L&R buttons for 3 seconds until a beep is heard. This IS NOT possible if the boat is in the water. The left button will turn LED light on & off. The calibration is performed after turning TX on and before placing boat in the water. Maybe its just me but HBX recognized the confusion and said they will re write the instructions.
Great vid. I got my sky tech h101 stuck in a lake the the very first time I took mine out. Lost bind with the remote and wouldn’t reconnect. 🤦♂️
Ouch. I still have mine and was going to replace the servo and might still do it but I’m also considering tossing the thing.
@@Funcentric Mini Servos are dirt cheap, fix it and install a front bumper with a cut up pool noodle and use it as a rescue boat :)
@@PERTHWESTOZRC Yeah, I actually have a 4 extra mini servos laying around. Figured I could use it here. I might do it one day, but just not a priority now. Maybe would be nice to see it run again. We'll see.
Nice pool noodle idea. That's a good point that I can use one to rescue the other.
Great review bro 👍🏻🍻
Thanks Rob!
✌🏼🤠
Did you intentionally leave the three grey knobs unlocked at 23:07 to see if we were paying attention? ;)
Haha. Naw, I did it wrong and didn’t realize until after.
I had the H101 it was decent but not nearly as good as the X03 👍💯
Yeah, H101 has it's flaws but I do miss the speed of it.
What does calibration do on a boat? 🤔
My guess is that it centers the throttle and thereby setting the correct max and minimum throttle.
Here is what HBX told me after I questioned the steps to calibrate (see my comment) : "Calibration is the reset of the transmitter. Because if you accidentally press the button of the transmitter in the previous operation, then after pairing in the water, the remote control will operate the previously set command. It is possible that the boat will go away without control. So our engineers specially added the calibration function which must be done before use".
I have understood calibrating on Drones (resets the gyro) but this is a first for boats. Again, calibrate BEFORE placing the boat in the water. Pushing the top L&R buttons will only turn your LED off (from left button) and no beep is sounded after 3 seconds
I've been thinking about getting a boat or two because my favourite RC crawling destination has a large lake. I'm not sure if this one has me reaching for my wallet though... That might be because boats in general are probably less exciting to me than cars. Cars crash, spin, jump, kick up dust and stones etc. boat are just way more polite :D
So true. So true. I know what you mean. Boats can’t really jump. Maybe more fun if it was FPV.
