My 89 mustang was having a rough idle at start up,, and what I found was that I had one of the oxygen sensors connectors had oil in it that I seen when I went to test the sensors,, apparently I had oil seep from a gasket and got on the connection, I cleaned it,, and now the car runs great,, so to prevent it from happening again I zip tied plastic around the connectors ,,😊

Good video but one thing troubled me. You said a lean condition caused deposits. I think it would be a rich condition.

To relieve your fuel pressure and not spray fuel on a rag and everywhere else take the fuel pump fuse out and crank the car or truck a few times and the fuel pressure will drop.
.... Or you could just let the car sit all night and I have even less pressure to start with and then follow the same procedure of removing the fuel pump fuse and cranking the engine.
