    This is a dream, someone else knows about this game? I thought I owned the only copy of this game in the world considering how NO ONE seems to know about it.
    It's a great game, it's one of those games that pushes audio and visuals to the max and is actually fun to play.

      I nearly bought this once back in 1995/6 for £5 or something when it was sitting in a bargain bin and plumped for PGA Tour 96 instead!

    • @Snotnarok
      @Snotnarok Před 7 lety +4

      Gah! I hope you've at least played it.
      I'm not even sure how I got it. I think my brother came home with it one day and it's become one of my favorite games on the Genesis! I keep coming back to play it, beat it on the hardest mode without dying.
      From what I gathered it failed because SEGA didn't market it at all, Gau went out of business because of it

      @MightyHedgehog Před 7 lety +1

      It's definitely a showcase title and has one great set of tracks. Too bad the serious issue with it is a big, annoying one in that it's one of the few action titles on the platform that runs at half update rate (effectively 30fps) and that hurts a 2D scrolling action-shooter quite a lot. The early shoot 'em up, Curse, and some Wolfteam titles also suffer a bit from this development decision. Like many modern games, the difference is really pronounced when switching to or from a fullly fluid 60Hz game, which back then, was the rule rather than the exception on the 8- and 16-bit 2D-focused consoles.

    • @DUSTINODELLOFFICIAL
      @DUSTINODELLOFFICIAL  Před 7 lety +7

      Curse is much worse. I swear that is running at 20fps. I'm really grateful that

      @@KTJohnsonkidThunder hes using a model 2 right now but with a sound mod. I have an old model 1 and love it so gotta agree there. But fyi later model 1s are no better than model 2s. So it's more complicated.
      At least tones and sounds on model 2 is correct imo it's just got that fuzz. My neighbor had a model 2 and it didnt stop us from jamming to sound test menus!

Instead of going to the case with the new titles i looked in the bargin bin and seen ranger x. The box art grabbed my attention, also got tecmo super bowl and batman returns that day. Spent alot of time playing this game growing up.

    This game is fantastic, even though it's brutal in difficulty. Love the soundtrack. If I can make a request, is it possible to do the Red Zone soundtrack? I know it might not be possible because it's crazy long, but I can dream that a good recording of that might exist some day. Gleylancer is another good one that should hopefully be doable. I would do it myself but I don't own a flash cart or a repro.

      For the rest of my life I'm keeping the underrated Sega Genesis classic from my childhood. It's a shame this game never got the recognition it deserved on account of Sega focusing on those stupid FMV games for the CD add on instead of good Sega CD games like Popful Mail, Dark Wizard, Shining Force CD, Vay, Lunar Silver Star/Eternal Blue, Sylpheed, SoulStar, and Snatcher just to name some.
      Sega should have advertised Ranger X as it is cause it would've sold well.

      Nice to hear. Personally, Zero Wing and Gleylancer are the best of CUBE. I'll certainly give Ranger-X another go at its soundtrack in the future. I think the reason why I'm not a fan of this soundtrack is that the Snare drum samples that the composer used kinda put me off a bit. Not to mention these snares sound a little quiet if you ask me.
