They both are playing for them-self with headphones on that's the reason the gentleman sound whisper and machine's sound too seems issues of mick. Everything is captured with a mobile phone camera.
Another bass player I haven't seen in awhile is Tony Franklin. I don't know about speed, but Tony's SOUND that Jimmy Page got out of him on those "The Firm" albums was amazing. The opening to Cadillac, and nearly all those songs the studio sound is amazing: czcams.com/video/kb331ulZ-I4/video.html
Shame the mic doesn’t work. Can’t hear a word they’re saying! He’s a lot better on the second track. She sounds great when she plays this tune with the band!
Is there nothing she can’t play? She can do a solo bass concert for 2 hours! I’d be the first in the queue. When’s your album coming out on iTunes Mohini?
it's just a common jam funk riff song everyone knows, easy to play anything over, that is all. The original was that way too. This is a NAMM jam or something, and that's what they do at those types of trade shows, keep it simple and jam. Even herbie said he lost it on his synth solo on the original version, went off base on accident but kept going anyways even those was wrong notes, so accidents can be cool too, that is why improv is great. Chameleon is not by any stretch herbies best tune...it is just his most popular because it is such basic funk. You want to hear some bad herbie, he did that kind of thing right before this album. That is why he dropped that and did headhunters, because no one liked his albums prior. Soon as he did this simple funk stuff the general public could grasp it, and became one of the biggest jazz albums of all time, tho it is more funk fusion and not pure jazz...herbie was taking a break from that was the whole point. Herbie would love this and her. I bet he would hire her today possibly. He just did a tour past few years with younger players playing this type of stuff. Chick corea does same thing. Keep it fresh mix it up, do both jazz and fusion
5:38 to 5:50 was total winged off..Stu had to do some adjustments to the groove to hide the mess. He was just silently smiling. I loved that moment where he shows us what a seasoned musician he is. But madam all respect to you and you have great skill, which I can't achieve in the next 100 years but seriously work on your tone or EQ or ur bass or whatever it is. Observe how Stu sounds whatever he plays. Be it slap or tap or finger. He sounds full and huge and most importantly beautiful and has great feel. In the first piece, I would say the real solo is from 6:00 where Stu plays. Lots of feel and character. Mohini you are stull young and I guess you will figure out the tone and feel of the bass very quickly. Just my humble opinion here. But I will always say... Great respect to your skill.
Wtf why mister strut ham is sounding so low mohini need to learn some respect it's not her solo performance she need to ve sense of sound she is playing with Mr ham...
Funny, on Chameleon Stu says much more in a much much shorter solo whereas MD noodles on (impressive technique etc etc, sure) for far too long with that awful overtly caustic tone. Decades of experience speaks volumes in just a couple of rounds.
Headhunters! 1972! Love it.
Thats what i call TALENT! Congratulations
She's gonna to top the bass world soon
Stu's great and all, but man, there's just nobody like Mohini Dey...

Stu is one of the greats..amazing player..Mohini does well to learn from Stu..and of course they teach other..
Is it possible to transplant a base into a human.....? I think it's already been done.
Why did you choose such a metallicc sound on mid range ? not nice at all , great performance
Its the camera mic....

They need to apologize to Herbie Hancock. They didn't just kill it, they completely destroyed it. That sucked quite a lot.
