Can't help but chuckle over the "Absolutely no..." sign in the background. What a wonderful trio really couldn't ask for much better. Only downer was couldn't hear Tony M. a little better. Still just a treasure though. Sure glad I got to see and hear this.
I never heard of him when I got to take my bucket list visit to the Baked Potato I think also in 2018 - that night Gergo was with Jimmy Haslip - HOLY F'IN SH!T
Mohini and Gergo are two of my favorites. But Tony MacAlpine just blew my mind. He rips out such wicked wicked riffs in this song, and hits everything pitch-perfect. Wow. His live guitar on this song now sits on my top shelf-with performances by Guthrie, Stevie, etc. Thanks for posting this music freak. You, Mohini, Gergo, and Tony have made my day many times over.
Gergo is a freak on the drum set. Mahini is Mahini; I got to hunt for words to describe her. Tony is smooth and relaxed as silk, like a fine wine on the guitar
Bravo to these great master musicians. 👏👏👏👏👏💝I saw Tony MacAlpine at a live show as a sideman and he blew me away... he doubles. I knew him for his extraordinary guitar playing but he's also a monster on keyboards! Peace and happiness to all. ❤️🙏🏼

What a diverse, fun, immensely talented, and classy woman Mohini is... Seems like such a down to earth person in her interviews. My mind would be blown if I saw her for the first time in person at this event. Great lineup...obviously! Thanks for posting this video
Watch out with the sign on the back ! "Absolu..." Thanks for sharing!

I wish musicians produced (and sold) their own authorized recordings of performances like this, so we can see this without guilt, and the musicians get paid.
Mac alpine was my favorite musician growing up I just recently found Mohini, and Gergo I am trying to text this message but keep saying ooh ahh, wow, nice best epic trio ever assembled you made one fan very ☺
Omg i have never ever been so blown away by anything like that performance. Wow wow wow. Beyond feeling. I felt like i was inside the bass guitar and drums as Well
Man, Tony was killin it on this. Never heard him 'jazz out' before, even though he was always my favorite of the 80s shredders. Still a master, phrasing well beyond nearly all of the 'shredders' he came up with.
Love that in the background it says "ABSOLUTELY NO...." and yet here we have a video still. On behalf of all viewers, THANK YOU! Because this is just frickin awesome!
Very enjoyable. I like how laid back McAlpine looks. The changes at 6:06 and the support of the bass there was truly excellent. The drummer is also very good (and tasteful playing).
Great set. I was happy to be introduced to Gergo in another Mohini video. He has got massive chops and great style. Glad to see him play live with Mohini.
I am so very sad here! Oh the guilt and shame!! I live in Burbank California, which is about 4 or 5 miles from North Hollywood, and I have been to the Potato about 50 times in the past 40 years. In 2018 I was already a super fan of Mohini, as well as Gergo. I thought those folks lived in some other country. I have been a MacAlipine fan for 30 years and have his CDs. I have seen MacAlpine 4 times at the Potato with Cab (Virgil, and either Brian Auger or Patrice Rushen), and three times with Vai (G3 and something else). I mean Mohini does not come over for a quick visit. India is kind of far away. Oh no!! When I saw CAB with Virgil I got to meet him. Really nice guy. He didn't blow me off like I was some punk. Virgil is cool. Bunny was very respectful, smart, well spoken (what would you expect). We spoke for a few minutes...But I was pre warned by a close bass player friend years before, and I want to warn all of you people of the secret so you don't make the same mistake!! When my friend was attending MI in the 80's, he met Bunny there and started taking some lessons from him. Once Tom made him mad, because of the mistake of saying "could you please show me some of that Jaco stuff". Bunny's mood changed to something more serious, looked at Tom and said (in his French accent) "I was playing Jaco before there was a Jaco". So for God's sake, don't ever mention Jaco when you are talking to Bunny. He is too nice of a guy, and I guess that is a real insult. Another guitar player friend of mine had been to NAMM more than several times. He told me to beware of Steve Morse and MacAlpine. Like they don't have much time for chat and have to get on with stuff. So the last time I saw MacAlpine, I love the guy so I could not let fear put me off and not meet my hero. That night I had about 6 double shots of Seagrams 7. so I was brave. When the set finished, Tony walked in front of the drums and stood there for a few moments. I knew I had him leveraged so if I went up to his face, he could not back up. It worked! I went up, cornered him and said "Tony man, I love the shit out of your guitar playing, keyboard playing, and writing. So I got to worship one of my idols, and there was no escaping from drunk Danny. Tony smiled. What was he going to do... punch me? Virgil's solo had me howling, really. He was playing so fast I could not even see one stick. But I am sure I felt some wood chips flying. Incredible Virgil!! He was just smacking any and every drum that was in the way. I was so boozed, and what he was playing can not even be described as human. So I started doing this out of control belly laugh like Santa Clause. My wife somehow did not get it. She said 'why are you laughing at him like that'. I said I am not laughing. I am so impressed that a human being can do all that and sound so great, so robust, so wow... Ok, end of story. Sorry it was long.
Punching up the girls between bass riffs. I must say I've never seen Lady Dey so exuberant as in the final few minutes of this piece. She was quite animated...fantastic!
Mohini has a great career in front of her . She obviously has mastered the Bass . If she comes to America she will just need too be in contact with the right management & booking agency . Maybe she would just need a "booking agent, “ and keep her current management from home. I hear that she wants to meet Victor Wooten , no doubt Vic and his brother should make that happen . Also I believe, they old Bass man, Stanley Clarke , would love to meet Mohini and have her join him in one of his "Jam sessions ,” with other Bassist on stage . Stanley likes to feature and mentor young talented musicians . Mohini , might re-ignite "Jazz Fusion” again for sure . Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock would be other musicians who would welcome Dey into the Jazz community here in America that’s what Miles would do ! Good luck Mohini and the other musicians around the Globe. I will be at your show if you are in NYC, Philly, or DC area . Thank you , Ed Callender, aka Bro. Ed , Concert Photographer
I'm just grateful someone had the wherewithal to disobey the sign posted there above Gergo's hats. I guess we all owe you a beer...... Whoever you are.
IMHO Mohini Dey is the finest bassist, only 2nd to Jonas Hellborg. If they were both to spend some workshop/studio time together, the earth would probably go off-axis🏆.
You're not kidding. It's like she was in some other band's pocket... I'm not hating; she's obviously amazing. It just felt like groove was being sacrificed for flash.
Haha Sign on the wall " ABSOLUTELY NO AUDIO RECORDING VISUAL RECORDING PHOTOGRAPHY"...then can you explain this? Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Stellar!!
Base player and drummer pushing each other to limits and still come out winners, truly amazing
Just when you think "How much better can musicians become ?" This comes out and raises the bar again.
Well, bass players have certainly gotten better looking!!!😂😂😂
Every time I watch a Mohini Dey video I fall in love with the depth of her musicianship and the supreme musicians with whom she surrounds herself.
Can't help but chuckle over the "Absolutely no..." sign in the background. What a wonderful trio really couldn't ask for much better. Only downer was couldn't hear Tony M. a little better. Still just a treasure though. Sure glad I got to see and hear this.
Instead of trying to put into words how awesome this is, I'm gonna just watch it over & over again
That was awesome. Musicianship of the highest order.
The drummer is an absolute maniac. Gosh. Just brilliant.
I never heard of him when I got to take my bucket list visit to the Baked Potato I think also in 2018 - that night Gergo was with Jimmy Haslip - HOLY F'IN SH!T
Gergo is one of the greatest drummers in the history of the universe. And that’s not an overstatement

Incredible Mohini Dey , Gergo Borlai & one of my personal guitar Heroes - Tony MacAlpine !!! Top notch as usual from these Geniuses ! ...

Mohini is mind blowing. Gergo always has been, and Tony just rips it up on this. One of the best trios I have yet seen and heard. Wow.
Bravo to these great master musicians. 👏👏👏👏👏💝I saw Tony MacAlpine at a live show as a sideman and he blew me away... he doubles. I knew him for his extraordinary guitar playing but he's also a monster on keyboards! Peace and happiness to all. ❤️🙏🏼
Tony sounds real fluid on this...was a blast to watch.. all top notch
Who would give this a thumbs down? This young woman is amazing
Those thumbs down are justin bieber army.

You got me all shook up, Mohini. Love your feel for vibes
that set was history in the making........
These three had a really good time ... and the audience for sure as well 👍
Watch out with the sign on the back ! "Absolu..."
Thanks for sharing!
I wish musicians produced (and sold) their own authorized recordings of performances like this, so we can see this without guilt, and the musicians get paid.
Another reason The Baked Potato does this is they sell these shows on their website - another way for musicians to get paid. So go pay and watch...
Absolutely No Recording!!! but I'm glad someone did. That sign always slays me, because some of my fav fusion was recorded at the potato.
Love The Baked Potato and the level of musicianship that passes through its doors. Great video, thanks for sharing!

They are having so much fun on this one! what a great gig!!
God, I cannot wait until we get to do this again!!!! Amazing performances.
Tony s phrasing on this tune is awesome 👏🏼
That drummer has some nice fills.👍👍👍👍. Holy crap.
Love that in the background it says "ABSOLUTELY NO...." and yet here we have a video still. On behalf of all viewers, THANK YOU! Because this is just frickin awesome!
Mohini is a goddess. I love her concentration and how deep she is into the music....
You can tell that Gergo is a huge admirer of the drum god Vinnie Colaiuta. You can hear a lot of Vinnie (among others) in his playing.
Peripatetic5 He should be. Vinnie is literally God as it relates to drums.
That was a Blistering set! Mind blown🤯 Thanks for sharing, even though the sign said not to.👍🏻😁
Very enjoyable. I like how laid back McAlpine looks. The changes at 6:06 and the support of the bass there was truly excellent. The drummer is also very good (and tasteful playing).

Wow! Brought both tears and laughter.. absolutely blown away! Thx for sharing
wow! just absolutely mind blowing playing! thanks a lot for sharing!
Damn, Dey and Borlai can mind meld amongst the best!
How beautiful! very good, absolutely to meet with Matteo Mancuso young Italian virtuoso guitarist. 🧨
Effin A! I fell in love with the passion that these three played with through the entire piece. I'm inspired to do better! Bravo!
Loving the ABSOLUTELY NO VIDEO RECORDING SIGN! Great musicians... wowza!! Thank you, sign-defying videographer, for sharing this!

Gergo Borlai excellent keeping it all together as the bass is all over the place at a few points.
