Overall, I believe the card is a great card to have in your possession if you're starting out with your credit score journey or attempting to rebuild your credit score. Everyone who applies for the Discover it secured credit card may not get approved, so this video is a walkthrough of steps that can be taken after being denied.

Thanks a lot. I made a mistake with my accounting number & i got help from the discover number you put in the video. The way they phrased the application made it seem like I was denied but it was just a simple error.

I literally just tried to Apply for an American Express n Discover card. But for some unknown reason I was denied

It's strictly at your own discretion. Be sure to think short term and long term when it comes to credit cards. Since there is no guarantee you'll get approved, just keep in mind a hard inquiry comes along with applying whether you're approved or not.
I'm new to the country and have no credit score at all. I applied for a secured card and got denied . Now I'm just afraid to apply again at Capital one
Being apprehensive about the Capital One card is understandable, but with no credit at all you have to remember there are risks involved with initially building credit. Use your own discretion when determining whether or not to apply for the Capital One secured.
Ive had the capital one secured credit card for about 6 months and wanted to add a new credit card that would graduate faster and so that i would have a higher credit limit reported on my score and more payments reported too. so I applied for the discover secured and they denied me, then I applied for the quicksilver secured credit card and they denied me and this with already a 610 which is not great but it should be good enough for a secured card. Going through this, I would recommend people apply for one of the US bank secured cards. While capital one denied me when I already had a card with them with no missed payments and never carrying a balance and so did discover it, US bank approved me for the Altitude GO secured. Also, Truist Bank approved me for their secured card but they have a $400 minimum deposit. Then again they could have approved me because that’s my bank but so is capital one and they denied.

Thanks man great video. I did just get denied for the Discover it card and I got a letter in the mail that said the reason was “recently opened bank revolving trades”. Any idea how to get around that? Thanks.

Funny how I got declined last month because I got too many inquires despite my credit score being 709. But now I got apporved though I decided to start with 200 dollars lol. Is it me or does credit card companies give people higher chance than unsecured one?

Man these people didn't ask for a social and also said they didn't use credit score. Which is why i applied because my factor said i could get 20 points. My credit score is " good " over 650 on all 3 bureaus. They denied me.. then I got an inquiry on my experian report minutes later.. wtf??
Yeah, that's unfortunate. Approvals aren't guaranteed. The positive is there are other secured cards around.
@@WaterYourSoil I don't care about being denied. Just don't understand how I was denied for a secured $200 card with a score in the fair to good range. But what I care about is the fact they weren't supposed to check credit, nor did they have my social. Now I'm going to lose points because they fasled advertised. Going to try and get it removed Monday. I just wanted that extra 20 points my factoring simulator showed for a new credit card. 🤦 do you know if me having a freeze on lexisnexis could cause me to be denied? Experian, equifax, transunion are open. But I have lexisnexis frozen while I have things removed. Wasn't sure if that might affect anything?
@@rodneyowens7919 there are numerous factors that could have played a role in it. You can always contact their line I dropped in the video and ask, and they'll more than likely share what played a role in it.
