I have just received my Armada core set/ISD/Gladiator bundle. I've just started miniwargaming because of this channel. I came to know yesterday that my local MWG shop doesn't have any Armada players yet because they don't have the gear, since I just got mine I'll go up the street and cautiously share my new hyper-cool stuff. These were great learning videos for me, a lot of other Armada gameplay videos don't show all the phases and they don't explain as clearly as MWG crew. Thanks again MWG
Mauler and Backstabber would have been perfect against that slow corvette that cant turn but the empire was rolling any evades it seemed. Good Batrep guys.
I really enjoy these x-wing games with Matt. Its a shame he doesn't do them that often. I didn't really understand the imperial player not even trying to use the concussion missiles, against two lumbering targets, with jonus present!
Only for those who know of the Epic Play Tournament Rules. Really changes the way the game is played right from the start. What he messed up was the allocation of energy after the aft section was crippled. I could only gain one, and therefore allocate one. He blended step one and two together and allocated the three he gained from the maneuver immediately. I don't believe that is the process.
Nice report! I love your X-wing reports. As a note, the Huge ships now start with full energy unless the mission states otherwise. It's in the new FAQ. Also, I would have shot the Shuttle with the Long range weapon, and added 1 die using energy. Remember Their ships are too small they are evading our turbo lasers! So always target the big ships or huge ships with them
Ok... few notes: First off the Corvette is far from 'a terrible ship' it can lay down a withering amount of fire if you built it right (Matt sorry but I've seen it played far better) secondly the Imperial player made ALOT of mistakes and crashed most of his ships every other turn. With all the missiles he had he should have been flying much less agressively at least for the first turn or two and volleying all his missiles as fast as possible (and personally I'd have focused on the Falcon first (I definitely wouldnt have HALF killed the corvette then switched targets half way through!) Oh and lastly, it never came up in gameplay but did alot in your comments, your misreading the huge ship rules on collision, if the huge ship flies into something then the smaller ship is destroyed but if a smaller ship flies into the corvette with ITS move then it uses the normal rules for collisions and just moves back and loses its actions, it's not automatically destroyed! As noted it didnt come up but I suspect the FEAR of that happening may have affected the imperial play. Oh and lastly, range between two ships is determined by measuring the closest points between their bases, if the closest point is within range 2 and the rear of the targets bases is at range 3 you cant choose to consider it to be range 3 and fire a weapon with a minimum range of 3 as you did when shooting at the shuttle. end rant :P
mdb45424 That game pretty much no longer exists outside our fond memories. Its been almost 10 years since GW stopped producing models for the game. Even Forgeworld. And most of the models have dried up even on ebay.

I believe that the new tournament rules for Huge ships state that you start with your full compliment of energy tokens. As a friendly game, you don't have to necessarily follow this, but why wouldn't you? :)
Quick thing that you missed an awful lot. Millenium falcon only has a firing arc in the front quarter of the base. There were quite a few times that you went to fire at something that was VERY out of your line of sight.
When deciding to use Chewbacca's ability, why wouldn't you look at the critical damage card before deciding? Also, with the Jaina's Light title, you can "redraw" a critical damage card. Why wouldn't you exercise all of your options for the absolute best possible outcome?
23:55 - Memo to Imperial General Staff: Assign General Dominic to the Imperial Quartermaster Corps. His lack of tactical skill is costing us too many battles. We need a good man to run supplies out the Imperial Infirmary on Naboo.
I mean interesting but there were some major mishaps in that game. The major one being the one everyone is pointing out in the comment section when han bumped. The other issue was just bad flying on both sides. Mainly on empire though. Still interesting to watch though.

Actually it's one of easiest games to learn! Sure, the tokens and cards may be a bit daunting at first, but there are beginner friendly lists that don't depend so much on card effects, letting you get used to more and more game-changing cards and builds. :-) and once you get the grasp, everything becomes extremely clear - I saw people get it after literally first five minutes of the demo game when I was introducing X-Wing to my gaming group/local gaming store. Even total casuals/tcg players get it in a moment even though they never played anything like it!
really bad rubber measuring there Matt :( Your Falcon definatly overlapped your Big ship at the 31:45 minute mark. You need to make some new xwing batreps. xwing is awesome. But please be more accurate with measurments. In 40k a few mis-measures isnt too bad but in xwing every millimetre counts
+Beau Bray Yeah I saw that too. There's no way it could have made that without hitting because even the turning gauge was touching the Corvettes base so half of the Falcons base would have crashed through it. So would that have meant the Falcon was destroyed?
Wow now that I saw it, it was so blatant cheating I feel so bad for liking matt because either he did it because it was a casual game or he just wanted to get a edge which he couldn't have which is super lame ( he could've done it for sake of the video but that's not a good excuse).

Have to disagree that Corvette is worst in the game. Seems like a solid ship that was well played. The Corvette ate up a lot of fire power, allowing the Falcon to move around and cleanup the opposition. I'd say the Rebels get an A for tactics. The Imperials didn't show up. All those missiles, gone to waste.
Hey matthew, I ordered a cr90 and it comes in friday (1/8/16) and I have been watching videos of it in play. I have seen conflicting rulings and was wondering if you knew for a fact. You said that if an enemy ship is attacking 1 half of the ship and the line of fire is through the other half then the cr90 rolls an extra dice. Someone else said if a half of the ship obstructs the LOF then you MUST attack that half.
+superfly1842 Hi, you have to make a line from ship center to center of the part of the CR90 you wish to attack, if it cross the blue line you cant attact that section.
You are speaking of the blue line in between the halves of the cr90 so if so if you go to attack fore section but you have to cross the blue line(you're obviously attacking from the fore section) then you cannot attack the aft section and must go for the fore.

I love how they're playing X-Wing, but I'm strongly disapproving as Matt did a cheat manuever at 31:45 ruining the integrity of the game and some other ruling over sights which in most cases gave Matt an edge.
At 16:30 - 16:32, great wasted opportunity. TIE Advanced and TIE Bomber x 2 should have focused all their firepower on the Falcon. Instead Advanced goes to the opposite direction, and the other Bomber crashes into him. That right there means the Falcon will be free, once again, to wreak havoc.
Drob17: Fun for the Rebel Alliance. The Imperial Player has some excellent ships their, but the way he maneuvers them.....completely ignores the Falcon and tries to bring down the Corvette. Get rid of the Falcon, and the Corvette is a lumbering beast without her faster, deadlier escort.
+Grey Games they used evade token for reinforce action which grants huge ship a 1 permanent evade for one round. there is a special token for it but they just decided to not use it i guess
+dgfjbhknml, As someone with two companies of marines, a full titan maniple including the new warlord, a large cron army and now starting a guard army as well: Shut up. While 40k is popular, you should also look at other systems as well to diversify. FFG's rule set is a nice diversion and would get quite a bit of biews on the channel. It's quite thematic.

I was thinking the same thing with the missiles. They should have been fired ASAP. As it was they were completely wasted.

Could someone explain what the effect of a stress token is?
Jo Do A stress token makes it to where the pilot can't preform an action until the stress is cleared with a green maneuver.

Or, you know, play however you want. As long as everyone is having a good time, the rules don't matter.
You don't get extra defense dice past range 3. It stays at +1 defense die range 4 & 5.
Huge ship rules, page 1 under the heading "Huge Range Ruler" specifies otherwise. I have not come across anything that disagrees with this.
against the use of the corvette in this game because it's an antifighter ship that got nerfed

There is a specific reinforce token, which clearly was not used here. Evade is the alternative if both players understand what it means.
