@@glockworks absolutely they're more comfortable the ear cups go completely around your ears and there's way less clamping force . I bought both at the same time to see which one I liked and had to immediately return the Alphas
These headphones have a pretty strong clamping force It makes them a more comfortable fit but it it is causing you jaw pain i would recommend returning as soon as possible

I can't believe that no one has come up with headphones that let you adjust the clamping tenstion so that your headphones don't squeeze the life out of your head and leave you ears in pain. The solution is being able to loosen the tenstion that's it wtf...

I had the exact same problem but with my Audio-Technica M-30x. What I did was to cut some polymeric foam and stuff it in the space between the driver plate (bottom of the headphone) and the earpad cushion. This increased the space for my ear and solved the problem. I hope this can help you as well ;D
I just got a pair a few days ago. My ears touching isn't the problem but the cheek/jaw area that they press against causes a lot of discomfort and pain. The soft areas in front and right below the ear... Besides that they are great. I keep hoping they will break in and that wont be an issue but it doesn't seem like that is so. I was so set on the Alphas but I may have to replace them with something else.
@@alexcapita7848 I've got used to it for the most part. I just readjust them and try to find the sweet spot. The clamp will let up a bit in time. I give them a good stretch before I put them on.
My problem with this headphones is it gives me headache, it really sounds good but I cant wear it for couple of hours or long gaming session, I think its because of it's clamping pressure is too strong and it's squishing my head too much.

I use the Cloud Alpha S's and they're really good with the cloth earpads rather than the Leather. The prob is that your ears can't dig into the leather cushions

Same issue, I found mine to be too tight: too much pressure regardless of how much I adjusted the length or padding. I advise wearing a baseball hat 🧢 and place the headset brace forward so that it rests on the peak( even if you need to turn them upside down to get the adjustable mic closer to you). This allows you to place the ear pieces to rest at angle just above your ear and the pressure is applied to the fabric of the rear of the cap. Granted you’ve to turn up the volume but it definitely takes the pain away. I’m sure it just shifts the problem to the side of your head but if you’re like me and you need them for working at home for long periods without any other available alternative it’s worth a go..Not breaking any rules by giving it a shot
Amazing support from hyperx. Been using logitech for 10 years now, gonna buy some logitech alpha today then. Hopefully they dont hurt my ears, but if they do I use the support.

I emailed HyperX about my white/purple Alphas. My left ear hurts after a while. They replied back within 48 hrs and wrote "Please note that your Alpha already has our new (and improved) earpads" - well that sucks. I am very disappointed. I am trying out some Brainwavz earpads, at the moment they are not as comforratble as the Alpha on the head area, so far my ear has not felt anything though. I will see how it goes. The most comforatble headsets I've used that I currently have are the Corsair HS35 but the sound they produce is not as good as the HyperX.
Hey Adrian, same exact problem here - representative mentioned the same thing in the email with the added bonus "if you still have the same problem consider taking them back to the point of purchase", yeah, like that's gonna happen (had them since January 2020)... It's got to the point that i don't want to wear them anymore due to ear pain, how are the Brainwavz fairing ? Do they make a difference ? do they sound the same as the OEM ones ? I think this just happens with every headset. Nothing is going to fix all that pressure because you have a heavy weight on your head. Only solution I can think of is if the headset was lighter.
I put some ZMF cowhide pads on my Hyperx cloud alpha. The Com fort and sound quality is fantastic. Sound is so Crystal glear. Mids and highs so load and smooth. Bass I can feel the sub Bass. So good very lean and controlled bass. Sound is miles better then stock pads.
This might not work for u , depends on the headphone's size , but if u have a small one u can get those round cotons and put them in the area that hurts that way it will become way softer and might fix ur problem
As silly as this may sound, I have a different headphones brand and I kind of just put a sock around the headphone, it was a light sock so it doesn't decrease the volume but it feels nice now.

Was going to upgrade from my HyperX Cloud I to Alpha, but damn that's disappointing. My Clouds have some kind of memory-foam between the earpads and speakers and I've never had a problem with them for 4 years (Still don't have any problems but they just feel... Old, I guess?). My previous headphones had such a problem and I actually have a merely noticeable mark on my left ear as a reminder.

Man I would recommend the corsair hs35 headsets, I have them for the ps4 and they are really good for the price ($40-$50) and have audio for a headset that would cost 100 and has a really good mic, and they are really comfortable

They replied and said my version already have the new type of ear cups. I got these for cheap so I'm going to give the brainwave cups ago.
