    Fantastic video! I used to play percussion instruments when in school, and now have a son starting out with percussion in middle school band. I've picked up decent student instruments for next to nothing on Craigslist, but they all come with crappy sticks/mallets. Retail for new mallets approaches the cost of used instruments. I appreciate you sharing DIY ideas that I bet perform as well if not better than some retail options that cost significantly more. Thanks!

      Thanks for that, yes, perhaps I should do an update... it was years ago and these mallets have been hard at work with me in the classroom ever since. Food for thought!

      hey ,if anyone else is searching for make your own marimbas book try Jaffacter Instrument Builder Coach (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my friend got excellent results with it.

      Thanks Bob, very much appreciated. It's funny, I started making these years ago and I still use them in my classes with kids every week! One of my most popular homemade things in the music classroom! ... and they always get a laugh!
