You got lucky - Best Ever Food Review Show team just had a nightmare experience trying to film in Egypt! The police were the problem, not scammers. I'd never go there after seeing how they treat tourists.
@@MrSimonj1970 dear sir , i watched all Best ever food review show episodes in egypt ,,, Sonny had a shooting crew and professional filming gears ,,, all of which needs permissions ( I don't know what permits did the carnet , he showed on video , covered ) ,,, for instance , he needed a custom permit for goods ( professional shooting gears,) , which I believe is required in other countries through an ATA carnet.
Also , he mentioned that his Egyptian guide , sadly , wasn't competent , and to show it ,, he managed to take footage in his absence, without any problem with z authorities .
I believe he didn't prepare well for his series , he could have contacted his embassy at home or here in Cairo to smooth his way through bureaucracy and got him necessary permits or put him through ministry of tourism and antiquity to resolve any problem,,, I wonder why he didn't do that, that was unprofessional for a professional not to try and resolve this problem officially .
As an individual u can go about taking photos as u wish,,, as did our friend here in Jumping places or Prowalk Tours and others , further check these out .
That said , I do hope to see u in Egypt.

Carol looks like an Egyptian Queen.
Many people asked if she was egyptian here lol
@@JumpingPlaces You never know … Egyptian Queen is possible even though family from Brazil. I say she is.
@@johngrant7696 I don't claim to have any knowledge about Dona Carolina's family history or roots. However, many Brazillians have Portuguese heritage . Before that, in what's now Portugal, previously the occupying Arabs had had offspring with the local Iberian population and before that the Arabs had had offspring with the Egyptians while they occupied that part of the world. Thus, it's not impossible that Dona Carolina (or, for that matter Sir Chris whose own mother is Brazillian) might have had some Egyptian ancestresses in the lineage from roughly 13 centuries ago but that would be entirely their and their families' calls to attempt to trace their pedigrees via documents and/or DNA and, especially, whether to share any of it with anyone outside their loved ones.
@@wardarcade7452 I just think she is awesome and he seems a genuinely good dude. King, Queen who cares. Nice people, good travel info. All good but thanks for the history lesson.

What an amazing trip to Luxor! To think that all of how much skill and detail the workers and artists had to carve and paint the elaborate artwork, symbols and writings,etc.- even in those tombs that also been excavated very steeply to deep levels into solid rock with no natural light (and somehow no traces of soot from torches were left behind by the original workers and their light sources from the pre-electric times is still a mystery)- and, in the tombs' cases, they were meant to be sealed off from humanity forever instead of being for any visitors or tourists to view! Also, those cartouches with the monarchs' names were the key to unlocking the how to translate Ancient Egyptian since the Rosetta Stone discovered in 1799 had its text hieroglyphics as well as in Greek and the French historian Jean-Francois Champollion was able to use the Egyptian cartouches for the rulers' names of Ptolemy and Cleopatra and saw where the corresponding words in the Greek part of that Stone. Up until his discovery in 1822, Ancient Egyptian writing had been a complete mystery for thousands of years (and thus almost all its pharaohs and indeed its history was unknown but for the few pharaohs and events that had been recorded and recollected to outsiders). And the Egyptians made the most of that vital Nile, since even during the pharaohs' times, it was recorded that almost all the other water sources dried up and, apart from a few oases, ALL the land not hugging the Nile's banks turned from forests and grasslands to desert! Another beautiful video and I'm happy you two got to enjoy that fascinating land and didn't let the hustlers spoil your enjoyment (though it's very hard to imagine either of you getting angry since you two seem so incredibly patient and mellow). Thanks again!
@odwight No, I'm not a professor but I was raised to love history! You are most welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great filming, audio and info as always guys, you’ve really managed to capture the size and magnificence of those wonderful ancient monuments. A lot of steps to those tombs!!
Many thanks!
And don't forget that not only did the tombs originally have no steps or rails for folks to hold onto to but the original workers had no hiking boots- just were barefoot or in sandals when having to climb in/out of the place!
@@wardarcade7452 ah yes, the incredible strength of humans before we started sitting at computers!
@@helennuttall True, but the Ancient Egyptians WERE the original laptop users! Their scribes would sit on floors crosslegged while transcribing whatever texts they needed to record on papyrus sheets they'd place on their own laps! LOL
@@wardarcade7452 haha, yes of course!
That's incredible the Roman paintings over the Egyptian hieroglyphics . Thanks so much for showing us that I never seen that before. Such an amazing place must visit one day.
Yes I didn’t expect to see the Roman paintings there, definitely should visit!
@@JumpingPlaces I hope you two go to Rome one day! There's quite a few Roman temples and buildings that wound up being the foundations and basements of medieval churches, etc. . Oh, and the Pantheon looks like an almost perfectly brand new Roman temple despite it being almost 2,000 years old- and having been a Christian church for the last 15 centuries(and all this with a big hole to see the sky smack in the middle of its roof)!
This part of the Luxor temple was turn into a church. Thanks why you can see those paintings.
Fantastic. It is a good and sensible way to see Egypt with less chance of encounted the scammers. Thanks so very much for the 'free tour'. Great Info too! ✌
Glad you enjoyed it
nice video, I was in Luxor in 1990s during a Nile cruise... enjoy!
Watching your trip in Luxor. Awesome views. Thank you for sharing your adventures. Thank you.
Our pleasure!
Oh my, your trip looks wonderful. The Nile cruise sounds fabulous. Im anxiously waiting for your next video
Coming soon!
FANTASTIC VIDEO GUYS 😄
Thank you!! 😁
Just so epic. Those hieroglyphics were so clear after so many thousands of years! The area is just huge. It's that dry desert climate that has preserved everything but the Egyptian govt has certainly done a wonderful job of restoring and presenting everything before it was too late.Ironically, the British Museum has the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts in the world- over 50,000.Most of these pieces were acquired (stolen?)during Britain's colonial rule. This includes the Rosetta Stone. Over 6 million people visit the British museum and its antiquities each year.Eygpt has asked many, many times for the objects to be returned (France has recently announced it will be returning some items from the Louvre to Egypt that it acquired through it's colonial rule there) but so far British Museum and govt have refused. Before they were closed off, there were numerous tomb raiders who stole gold, jewels, valuables buried with bodies to use in the afterlife as well as mummies and
sarcophaguses, which had art work and jewels embedded in their surfaces. So many layers of history.
Egypt in the impression is an ancient country, and seeing those walls really has a feeling of traveling through time and space!
It's amazing to think how many people have been standing in the same place as you, thanks for sharing this trip!
Note: I really want to see the original appearance of those palaces!👍😁🙏
印象中的埃及就是一個古老的國家,看到那些牆真的有一種穿越時空的感覺!
想想看有多少人曾經站在你們站的位子,感覺實在是很奇妙,謝謝分享旅行!
註:好想看那些宮殿原來的樣子!
Wish we could have seen it in all its color, they should make a replica somewhere and make it all colorful like it would have been :D
@@JumpingPlaces You are so right, I hope the Egyptian government can find a place to rebuild those palaces with modern technology,
I believe it can bring a large number of tourists! Hope I can visit there with you then!👍😃🙏🙌
One very efficient way would be the design of an AR or VR phone app which would superimpose an image of how things looked originally over the ruins as they are now. The are several already in existence, for castles in Japan and also ancient human habitats in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. Everyone has a phone and its cheaper & easier than building a replica.
@@raymonde4272 Thanks for the suggestion, but I think people still like to see the real thing and feel the shock!
Thank you SO much for this wonderful 'DROP' on Karnak. Beautifully produced, what a talent. THANK YOU from one Brit/Celt to another xox
Just amazing. Thank you for letting us be part of it.
thanks for watching!
Ancient places in Egypt are top tourists attraction.
They are amazing and unique but don't overlook the REST of Egypt's history including buildings and artifacts from the Nubians, Persians, Greeks[Macedonians], Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, etc.
@@wardarcade7452 Yes they too
Its great to see you happy
welcome to Egypt
hope you come again
Thanks! 😃
It was exciting to see your version of these temples and tombs. I've seen a lot of travel shows and documentaries of Luxor over the years, but your footage was better than anything I've ever seen. I really got a sense of the layout and the scale of things. Great job! Thank you.
Cheers Doug, more awesome ancient egyptian places coming soon!
Splendid video and very interesting 👍👍. We love it
Thank you 🤗
Make sure you go to Abu Simbel if you can possibly make, a tip from someone who has been to Carvoeiro twice
We just watched the best ever food review show, and Sonny as well as all of the commenters, said that Egypt is corrupt to the bone. They all said they were harassed, had things stolen, were given fines, encountered corrupt police, tour guides, attacked by crowds of people, had their cameras, phones, equipment confiscated. So, please be careful Chis and Carol. Stay safe and God bless you!
Luckily we didn’t experience anything too crazy, just hustlers for us
@@JumpingPlaces So glad to hear that. Be safe!
I believe your country more corrupt then Egypt 😂
@@khaloood199 You're probably right! You can get scammed, shot, stabbed, robbed real easy in the US real easy. I didn't say the US was better than Egypt, they're both dangerous places!
oh right, now I have seen all this video. You did encounter the notourios hustlers/scammers! Thanks for telling us and yes patience indeed is required. We can in some places encounter this situation here in Morocco but I don't think so much. Glad it didn't stop you from enjoying your outing. Cheers 💯✌
Spectacular stuff. . .ancient Egypt has always fascinated me. This little trek was wonderful. Thanks! 😎
Blessed you dear who show us beautiful things in humble places where some people never see them!!!!🥰❤💯
Really thank you for that.....
So nice of you
Beautiful culture of Egypt!
Simply outstanding ! Thank you immensely. I pray to one day be there.
I hope so too!
Glad you got to go experience it in person. I did all of that 10 years ago and it still amazes me what I saw and experienced. The Nile cruise is awesome too, enjoy!
Yes the sites are unbelievable, nile cruise vid coming soon :D
I hope you come to Alexandria soon so I can take you to visit the Alexandria library, Citadel of Qaitbay.

We were in Luxor for 10 days about a month ago. We then took a Nile Cruise to Aswan. Your video is excellent! To bad you weren’t able to stay longer.

Carol’s outfit was very nice for this excursion. Beautiful color. Worked well with backdrop. Glad you both enjoyed your trip.
great video suitsgreat civilization!
I miss Luxor, so majestic. My favorite city was Aswan.
Great video!
another excellent video. it reminded me of hercule poirot and death on the nile with some of the temples and perhaps tomorrow with your cruise.
love it....👏👏
Beautiful. This brings back wonderful memories for me. These elaborate New Kingdom sites are so lovely. Wait till you see Abu Simbel. Old Kingdom sites are austere and powerful.
Abu Simbel coming soon in the next video :D
travelling is so good
Welcome to Egypt. I hope you enjoyed Dahab, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, El Gouna, Ain Sokhna and Alexandria. and Madinty adorable
Very nice 👍, it was nice filmed . Thank you 🙏
Always a good choice of BG music,

Simply amazing temples and stuff. I particularly liked the last part where U informed about Scammers for the benefit of other tourists.
This is one of your most impressive videos. Congratulations.
Great video, I was there a few years ago, absolutely brilliant! You must do the Abu Simble trip, it will blow your mind!!!!

Chris, you did it again 👍 Awesome video, almost looked like Carol was the tour guide😹…
You both sure are in complete de NILE! lol Great episode - so much history! Stay safe - have a blast.
Renewed my interest in going to Egypt.
We are so envious, never realized you would be able to get up close to the ruins to be able to touch the hieroglyphics… I was expecting it to be like the pyramids in Cairo, you can’t get too close to those. Amazing experience, I can’t wait to visit myself.
we are waiting for you in Aswan ⚘⚘⚘
Neat!
