    You know you're doing well when you rip out a perfectly good 6 figure driveway to add a pickleball court and pour another drive. With that said I love pickleball and totally worth it 😉

    OMG. What an impressive and challenging project. Just the concept to remove a curving sloped driveway and mature planter beds blew my mind. End result was fabulous. LOVE those stadium lights!

    While I'm not a fan of those dangerous acrylic surfaces (say hello to knee replacement), I absolutely love the boulder wall and concrete work. It's a really nice looking project and Utah has some beautiful scenery.

    Amazing work and great video. My only criticism would be that I wish the “kitchens” were a third color. This could still be done, IMO, after which it would be literally perfect. Thanks for showing us.

    Really great video for showing a court put in. I'm thinking about going down that road, worried about the bumps lol. So, did the cement guys finish the court slab with relief cuts?....it looks like it in the video. If so, do you put some kind of product in the grooves to make the court look totally smooth? What type of paint/product did they use to finish the court? Do you have the make/model of the LED light you used for the court? Anything you wish would have been done differently on the construction aspect? Are you getting better at pickle ball? Thanks again for making a fine video for us home improvement types.

      Ron, I,d stay away from a BLk top surface. I got my court all formed up and have not poured it yet. ( have been traveling)
      I went 32x60 and will eventually paint next year. I will fence also . I have power there for lights if I decide at a later date. Go 4-5” with mesh or rebar. Good luck.

    we are also thinking about putting in a pickleball court in a closed space. How much distance do you have from the side line to the side wall? How much space do you have from the baseline to the back wall? Thanks!

    • @natehadlock
      @natehadlock  Před 3 lety

      Hopefully you get an awesome court done! From the sidelines to the fence and rock wall is about 4ft. At the basketball hoop end the end line is about 8ft from the wall I think. At the open driveway end there’s about 20ft to the retaining wall of the driveway, and a small section that’s about 6-8ft from the fence. They could’ve had more space on the outside of the court, but they wanted the boundaries to be full regulation size.

    Good job, yes, atp shots a concern w the Boulder wall. But this is a family rec court and no need to make head long dives. All in all, gorgeous
    I built my own court about 15 yrs ago in N Mn
    A lot more simplistic then this setup. I had a $2500 budget. Came out great. I no longer live there but see that it’s still in use.
    I did 5’ on the sides w concrete then grass. Then a short backstop
    Planning a new court at my place in Wy
    Definitely open to all! It’s a great sport. I,be been fortunate to meet new peeps and play in many places
    The US, Mn, Tx, Ut,Fl,Az, ,the world, Mexico,Thailand and next month,France! At 68yo , it’s my way to get out and enjoy life. Leave the media’s off, grab a paddle and come play! Pickle on!

    Great job. Any issues with losing balls down the cliff that doesn't have a fence? Or was the low wall farther away enough to capture most of them? Your parents have more moxie than I do. Been thinking about adding onto my garage to make it big enough for an indoor court.

    • @natehadlock
      @natehadlock  Před 2 lety

      The only time there’s an issue is if kids get crazy and just start hitting them as hard as they can all over the place LOL. Otherwise it’s far enough away. I get what you mean, they thought about this for a couple years before pulling the trigger. If it’s going to get used a lot, go for it!

    Nice job! I was considering building an indoor pickleball court at my home. My HOA would never approve of an outdoor court due to the noise of the balls and the noise of people having a good time. My question is what was the cost of the concrete of the pickleball court along with the surfacing and lining of the court?
