That's not true. There are plenty of comedians out there with "balls", who are telling the truth and making it funny. All over the place.
@@foobarmaximus3506 you're probably right, that they're out there. The difference here is, Ricky has a huge platform and fan base, and hasn't had any large repercussions for his statements. Even Joe Rogan apologised, when he shouldn't have. Perhaps I can include Dave Chapelle but again, he's been cancelled in one way or the other. Gervais hasn't had that and it doesn't look like he will, any time soon. I believe that's due to his approach and attitude. Not many people can achieve that.

I love how Seth doesn’t even finish his sentence and Ricky already has a great, funny response. It’s amazing how quick and brilliant his mind is.
Improv is a very useful skill to have as a comedian. It lets you adapt to a multitude of situations and keep things funny and the laugh train rolling.

His views and beliefs are an absolute mirror of my own, I just wish I had a molecule of his articulation skills and ability to express those beliefs in such a down to earth, matter of fact way. This man is one of a kind.

This interview was so much better than Colberts interview with Ricky. The fact that it is one video instead of 3 alone makes it better but the overall flow was just right.
Yeah well that's arguable, I like Seth and he's definitely improved the last few years, but Colbert is a far more intelligent, nuanced, and funny interviewer than Seth

As an atheist, I appreciate having someone articulate how I feel about things. I know it changes someone's opinion of me when they find out that I am an atheist, and they have NO PROBLEM telling me how wrong I am, even though I would never question or make fun of someone else's beliefs. If someone blesses me, I know they mean well and I just thank them, UNLESS they are being a smart ass and are doing it for a reaction. THEN all bets may be off.
I’m not an atheist but not religious at all. I’m not religious because I just don’t believe in religion and find religious beliefs stupid. But it’s like when some nice religious person walks up to you and says God bless you , they mean well, so you accept it and be nice to them back

Yeah I've lost several close family members to cancer and also felt suicidal since then, but thankfully I've never been as much of a dick as Ricky's character in After Life. And if it wasn't for my sweet little dog I probably wouldn't be here today

@@oneirishpoet Same here. Lost 2 of my brothers to cancer. But, a few years later, I lost my 2 sweet little brother and sister doggies too soon. They each took half of my heart and soul with them. That was about 6 years ago and I'm still recovering. It gets a tiny bit better each day. But, it took moving across the country because everything reminded me of them. I can't use FB anymore because my account is filled with photos of them. But, that's actually a good thing. Because FB is like what Ricky said about Twitter, reading every (public) bathroom wall (on the planet). Anyway, take care and be prepared, if you are like me, for that day. It's going to hit you worse than you ever could imagine. Good luck.

It's amazing how different an appearance can be, even when the substance is mostly prepared, just based on how the personalities react.
Speaking of human life-span: when we study average life span in antiquity the average seems so low mostly due to infant mortality rate. Families would have a dozen children hoping 6 would survive infancy to work the farm. Then maybe 3 survive working to reproduce. Our ancestors that made it past the stage of dependency (at whatever that age was at the time) would often live to 60 years.
Basically, sanitation and germ theory made more babies survive, so that appeared to raise the average life span as more of us survived to the age of reproduction.

I loved Ricky Gervais's honesty and way of thinking. I feel exactly like him, but it is very difficult to express yourself in front of others because most of the times they put you in the black list and they don't want to talk to you any more. That has been my experience in several occasions. So, it is very refreshing to know that there are people that think like you and you are not a weirdo. Thank you Ricky.

If he were honest, he would say he is very superstitious for his blind faith in alchemy on steroids being real: slime transforming into Frankenslime. Give me a plausible falsification scenario to prove that abiogenesis is even in the science club of explanations. Also, amino acids aren't evidence, 'cause they're totally non-living. IMAGINING that they become life, is wishful thinking. May as well fart and call that proof life could come from non-life.
Even though the clip and much of interview were basically a rerun from Colbert the other day, Ricky is worth watching over and over again and again.

I used to think he was sarcastic & pretty full of himself. He once made a pedo joke that really pissed me off. Decided I didn't like him.
But then I remembered how great he was in the movie Ghost Town, so decided to watch Derek & then AfterLife. They were so much more than I'd anticipated. And I got it. I got him & his humor. He's really lovely inside. Now I can't get enough of his work. 🥂💕
