Hi! Diana is nineteen and a half now. Diana has never had producers, she is still working independently. She is also studying at the university in the third year of the variety department. Diana has a lot of covers in her repertoire and they all differ from the originals, often very much. She never tries to simply copy the original work, but gives it a special originality that allows you to look from a different angle.
В том то и смысл, спеть не как оригинал не по шаблону,вернее не сделать очередной клон, а по своему как то или иное произведение видится тебе и как понимает его твой личный духовный мир, а потом вынести это на оценку и критику людей. Надо быть смелым человеком чтобы делать это и Диана делает безусловно рискуя, но по моему личному мнению она не разу не ошиблась, что только доказывает что у этой девушки огромный талант, мастерство и класс.
I've been listening to Diana for about two years. This was the song first song that introduced her to me. When she went into her contralto voice it disturbed me to the core. I've been hooked ever since. She's a gift from above.

Очень интересные комментарии. Они выбрали хороший формат подачи материала: этот феноменальный талант надо именно обсуждать в живом разговоре, рассматривая его под разными углами. Естественно, у этих джентльменов возник вопрос об исполнении тяжёлого рока. Может ли она его исполнять? - Несомненно: достаточно послушать её версии "Human" и Personal Jesus", чтобы в этом убедиться. Будет ли она этим заниматься? Для меня очевидно, что нет, не будет. Или, всё-таки, будет? Эта девушка соткана из противоречий, контрастов и парадоксов. Она вместе с ними родилась - и избавляться от них совсем не собирается. Вы можете увидеть эти парадоксы прямо в "Wicked Game": красивая 15-ти летняя девушка, отнюдь не брутальная и не мощная с виду - способна почти без усилий выдать и мощный вокал, и мощную энергетику. И исполняя поп-музыку, так её исполняет, что неизбежно наводит вас на размышления о другой музыке - в том числе, и о тяжёлом роке. Эти парадоксы и контрасты легко увидеть и в 2022 году. Она, судя по всему, предпочитает исполнять поп-музыку - и мы видим чистые образцы такой музыки: "Рядом ты", "Лечу водопадом", "Ты танцуй". Некоторые песни, однако, явно выходят за рамки этого жанра: "My Love"; "Огонёк". И есть песни, на мой слух, наиболее подходящие ей по всем признакам, близкие ей по самой природе её дарования: "Откровение", "Зима без снега". Формально они - поп-музыка; более-менее традиционные тексты: любовь-страдание, неудавшиеся отношения, проблемы взаимопонимания; хорошая, не слишком сложная музыка, легко запоминающаяся. Но сам способ очень сложной работы с вокалом и с интонациями в обеих песнях, сильнейшее эмоциональное наполнение выводят их, на мой взгляд, на тот уровень, где жанровая принадлежность уже не играет для слушателя никакой роли. Это вас затягивает, это вовлекает, это вызывает сильный эмоциональный отклик - но это вызывает и сильное эстетическое переживание, какое способно вызвать только настоящее искусство. Вот вам очередные парадоксы от Дианы Анкудиновой - и надеюсь, не последние. Слушая даже только те песни, что появились в этом году, вы понимаете, что она в любой момент легко может выйти за рамки поп-музыки - когда представится такая возможность; когда она захочет; когда выпадет какой-то случайный номер в очередном шоу. Будет ли это джаз, русский романс, или тяжёлый рок - на самом деле неважно. Она снова уведёт вас на какие-то неведомые территории, и вы снова услышите что-то совершенно неожиданное. Признайтесь - ведь именно этого вы от неё и ждёте...

In 2019 Diana sang this song in the singing competition 'You are super' (she was 15 years old). This competition is unique in the world, an international TV- competition, especially for adopted and orphaned children.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered this unique competition and won twice.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to CZcams and soon she had millions of fans. She called us Friends.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
Igor Krutoy, here in "You are Super" as a juror, gave Diana a small apartment (37m²/ 398 ft²) in Moscow with the words: Live and sing!
There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in Oct. 2020). Now she is taught by the great Alexandra Pismennaya, who was a student of Prof. Donskoy.
*Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is also a sponsor and a juror in this competition. His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash Qudaibergen. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. Krutoy is also still in touch with Diana and he introduced her to Brandon Stone. The result: 1st CD in December 2021 and in June 2022 there was a gold disc.

Thank you for your reaction gentlemen. I would suggest you might want to react to Diana's rendition of Can't Help Falling in Love. Which she performed on another TV show in Russia about a year ago. Diana's voice had matured since she sang the song you reacted to in the video. Her version of the classic Elvis Presley song will blow your mind. Diana now has the range, power and stage presence to perform everything from opera to metal.

Кроме необычного и не стандартного голоса Дианы,(хвала небесам за не стандартный) который лично мне импонирует, меня кроме этого поражает как она может им управлять, у неё это получается очень бережно, точно, чисто и деликатно эстетика исполнения просто на высочайшим уровне, и в таком то возрасте. Andy, it's a cover! As such, she should be putting her own spin on it. If you want the same original, then listen to Chris Isaak only. Your folded arms gave it away. This young girl has the best female voice I have ever heard in over 60 years. She also has the most unique which is a good thing if you have ever listened to top pop stars sing the national anthem in prolonged vibrato.

To sing like an original singer, to copy it is not interesting and boring, then listen to the original version, since the copy is always worse than the original, but to sing in your own way, to give a new sound and reading, is not given to all performers, and it was Diana who coped with this task, and now her version of this song lives his life, and stands on a par with the original.

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

This is not the original so the sound is either your own issue or it’s this copy…since the SANCTIONS the original was taken down. Her cover of Personal JESUS on the SHOW MASK GO ON shows her rock potential. It’s not an exact copy of the original but her vocals and polyphonic tone is distinct. Diana is still a student and so she shares a few originals songs once in awhile. Her adoptive mother rescued Diana at 4 years of age and was unable to speak so the doctor recommended singing lessons. She has been performing since she was very young. Thanks for the reaction.

The songs are to show her vocal talents. When she is about 30yo she will probably be officially labeled a Dramatic Contralto w/polyphonic overtones. You need to read her bio on Wikipedia "please".

It should be noted that on this show "You Are Super", all the contestants were children from disadvantaged backgrounds and the producers, with some input from the singers, allocated the songs. I'm not entirely sure that Diana particularly likes the song - I don't recall her performing it again unlike other songs she performed on the show. I seem to remember reading that Diana didn't really get it and sung it from the perspective of "Mother Earth" admonishing humanity. In any event, what's the point of a carbon copy of the original?
Oh Andy, none of the judges regretted pressing the green light, as their comments afterwards (not in this video) showed. She went on to win the show easily.

It's a contralto. It was this song that I heard for the first time from Diana, it was like an electric shock of 220 volts. (I know these feelings as a person who likes to repair equipment himself and received such a blow in his youth out of stupidity). Since then, music has re-entered my life, with the voice of Diana and Dimash. And I grew up on rock, metal, although I love Vivaldi, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Grieg and many other classics of world music. Diana brought music back into my life, which I had given up for many years. I don't regret it for a minute. I love her talent.

Diana Ankudinove always interests me because as Dave noted, the range she possesses is very rare. Dave also correctly identified the one genre where I think she would excel and be accepted, and that is not pop and it's not Bjork "alt pop"; it's doom. The one person who possesses this same range and ability comes from a generation earlier, and that is Krista Van Guilder of Benthic Realm/Second Grave, who is able to hit the same notes in a genre best suited for this skill (although KVG has more control and nuance in terms of vibrato and seamless transitions). Unfortunately, I think it's probably safe to assume that whoever is guiding her will never have this occur to them, since they won't be able to think outside the box, and I suspect they will "guide" her to try to be a pop star, which I doubt will ever get large mainstream success, since the pop genre is not geared toward this kind of ability. That's a real shame, since she obviously has a unique talent.
I think it's interesting and encouraging that there are also other millennial contemporaries of hers that have unique and astonishing vocal talents in different ways, such as Melody Christea of Liliac (who has great control and grit and who sounds like Janis Joplin in terms of sound); Sara Menoudakis of Motion Device/Quarter After Three (who has incredible power like a trumpet and also perfect pitch, with a natural "standard" vibrato and also a "wild" vibrato at the ends of her lines, and a unique blues style tone, especially for her age), and even Daniela Villareal of The Warning, who is underrated in terms of her excellent range that she has worked very hard on developing, and can now go quite low (Money) as well as high (Martirio).

I wrote about another song "Mom, I'm Dancing" and by the way also "Human" and Anita Tikarom "Twist In My Sobriety" and "Crow" all songs are "dark". Diana "sanctified" them.
I have been watching Diana's performance for 2.5 years (I recognized her in April 2019). ALWAYS all the songs that she sings become hers, she changes them, makes them "her own". I was surprised by the 2nd song in the contest "Mom I dance". Why? I haven't heard it before, I watched the original song (everyone wrote that it was very popular) I didn'T like the "black song", but after Diana she became playful :). I remembered "HUMAN", the same story in the original was very bad in the song "vector of purpose", after Diana the song made sense. And it seems to me that all of Diana's songs (I'm talking about covers), if the song is good like this song "Oh, it's not evening", she, like a sorceress, brings a cut that makes the song shine. If the song or the meaning of the song is "black" it will transform it.
And a separate topic is the original songs written for Diana, there's all song masterpiece. There are no words. A low bow to Diana and everyone who helps and works with her.

Wow, these guys are tone deaf right? Judges absolutely did not want to retract their decisions. She did that song justice and then some. Her voice sent me to another world. I’ve always liked that song but until I heard Diana sing it I’ve never been entranced by it before. I love her.

Девушка сделала, возможно, не сама, а, скорее всего, с помощью аранжировщиков на передаче, но смогла понять, что от нее хотят и сделала песню своей, а не копиркой, это дорогого стоит, т.к. есть много певцов, с хорошими голосами, они поют кавер и... все, на следующий день о данном кавере никто и не вспомнит, а у этого кавера миллионные просмотры и такое же количество восхищенных людей. Я согласен, что первое исполнение всегда является эталонным, т.к. оно первое (это, как первый мужчина в жизни девушки, ха-ха-ха), но иногда второе исполнение бывает интереснее первого, это, как раз этот случай и таких каверов у нее просто вагон и маленькая тележка и все они- не жалкая копирка, а свои, ее песни, просто ей не повезло первой их исполнить, но от этого они не становятся однодневками, их слушают и слушают, обсуждают, т.е. тут есть материал, с которым ИНТЕРЕСНО работать. По поводу лысого, у него просто заранее отторжение всего чужого, что не его, он даже своих коллег по обсуждению с трудом слушает, еле сдерживаясь от своих высказываний. Ну таким трудно жить в компаниях, ха-ха-ха. Никого не хотел обидеть, если обидел, ваше право и можете его использовать, ха-ха-ха.

Писал по поводу другой песни "Мама, я танцую" и кстати еще и "Human" и Анита Тикаром "Twist In My Sobriety" и "Ворона" все песни "тёмние". Диана их "освятила".
Уже на протяжении 2.5 лет смотрю выступлении Дианы ( узнал её в апреле 2019). ВСЕГДА все песни которые она поёт становятся её, она их меняет , делает "своими". Удивила 2-ая песня в конкурсе "Мама я танцую". Почему ? я её раньше не слышал, посмотрел оригинал песни ( все писали что она была очень популярна) НЕ понравилось "черная песня", но после Дианы она стала игривой :). Вспомнил "HUMAN" таже история в оригинале очень плохой был заложен в песне "вектор цели", после Дианы песня приобрела смысл. И мне кажется все песни Дианы ( я про каверы говорю) , если песня хорошая как эта песня "Ой, то не вечер" она как волшебница вносит огранку, которая заставляет сиять песню. Если песня или смысл песни "черный" она преобразует её.
И отдельная тема оригинальные песни, написанные для Дианы, там что не песня то шедевр. Нет слов. Низкий поклон Диане и всем , кто помогает и работает с ней.

На счёт войны на Украине, виноваты не русские,а натовцы,которые двигались к России всё ближе и ближе, поэтому Россия вынуждена первой начать военную операцию чтобы не допустить военные действия на территории России. Обсуждать какой репертуар подходит Диане - это бесполезно! Все, за какое произведение она не взялась, делается от души и сердца. И кажется, что любой кавер, эта песня написанная для нее лично. Молодость, а тем более у талантливого человека это всегда поиск чего то своего. Пусть Дианочка найдет только свой репертуар, но честное слово, лично я буду скучать по тому времени когда все исполненное и такое разное от Дианы вдруг исчезнет из ее плейлиста.

If you don't dig Diana, don't even bother reacting/listening to Dimash. Although both are exceptionally talented individuals, I much prefer Diana's soothing voice to Dimash's insanely high falsetto. As for ruining Chris Isaak's song, he pretty much did it himself when he released it. Issak is also essentially a one-hit wonder (ok...maybe 2 or 2 hits). That being said, happy to see that you are at least exploring new stuff, and not everyone is bound to like the same things, as it would be quite boring. Cheers!
Dave checked out Dimash on his other Dave Does channel and he agrees that its not something that the ADK channel would really appreciate, we are going to be doing some guilty pleasures songs in the new year and the rule is they cannot be metal or rock so it should be interesting

Diana is a true contralto as WELL as being polyphonic. She sings the way she does because that's her voice. Can YOU sing that song any better?? While we are at it, I'd suggest that you read her back story. Perhaps then you might realize that you aren't as bright as you believe you are. From being abandoned on the street by her mother at age 2/3, abused and with a broken collarbone, unable to vocalize and terrified, Diana was taken in and adopted by a wonderful family who did everything they could to give her the love she'd never had. You might try listening to a few more of Diana's songs before you pass judgement. If you don't like her then don't ever watch her again and for God's sake, quit flapping your gums.

Having no headphones on is not a proper way of listening to the music.
Alot of peoples first time listening to music is without headphones, IE car radio, TV, computer etc so I think for a reaction it's ok, Dave Does prefer to use headphones but that's his choice. If we're doing reviews of an album or a song breakdown for instance then we would use headphones as we need to hear more detail. With reactions it's about what your first gut feeling is about when you hear the track and then trying to explain it. When Andy said she ruined the song, that was his gut feeling based on the emotion he felt, nothing to do with her performance or ability but how he felt and I'm sure there are others that feel that way. We try and keep it as honest as possible.
