Can't forget the most important step, jack up the car and put it on jack stands before you start.
Nope, disconnect the negative lead from the battery....
That mighty car mods music, hahahaha
I did it right now and worked! I have and improved rpm. Thanks
Excellent tutorial. Don't forget the other bolt.
That's whatvi came here to say. Where is the 4th bolt?
Thumbs up from get go for the song 👌 another mcm follower
You doing very good job 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice video 👌👌👌👌👌
Very good teacher and you very good teaching 👍👍👍👍👍☺️
These are Cheap these days... I found them on eBay from $8.00 - $10.00. If you have problems with these IAC Valve... Just replace it :)
You had me at drift !!!
You were soooo close to doing a great job but you didn't take the time to separate the TPC motor from the housing!! Two screws was all it takes and you would have found a ton of carbon buildup against the critical moving part. This exposes the inside of the housing and the parts that really needs to be cleaned. Take the same valve apart you just "cleaned" and you will want to redo the video for sure. However, your video/sound skills are great!! Good lighting, great instructions, good sound! Keep them coming.
Carl Morrell i actually have this whole engine out at the moment so im ganna take a look. Thanks for the compliments and the heads up though 👍
Full Tilt Drift so was he right ?
Full Tilt Drift What did you find on second inspection?
Thing is, though, the threads in the holes for his mounting screws are stripped out, so he can't really take the risk of finishing them off.
Wow thanks
best video .
Hoooo good woork thang you from mexico city💪👍
What mm size for the bolts? 10mm?
How does it work if it is outside of the engine bay?
Can I use throttle body cleaner instead of carb cleaner? I already have the TBC. Also, any tips on readjusting the fast idle after this?
+Tres Kutcher - LOL TBC is the same stuff! Only way to Adjust your Idle is your Idle Screw. Although you must stay around 600-850RPM and depend on your Liking / MFR Recommendation. Since I am in the Cold Weather, I like mine to be at 850RPM...., waste a bit of Gas, but our Engine are always running in Cold Weather. If I live in California or Florida... My Idling Speed probably like 600RPM, LOL
+Tres Kutcher - NOTE: If you want to " Adjust " the idler screw on your IACV... While the Engine is on... Try adjusting it to your liking and watch your " Odometer " for your " Liking " Idling RPM. Don't try to save GAS and go LOW... Like most People wants, but ending up stalling in traffic. LOL :D
i ran into a problem a few weeks ago. I was driving my 240 on a 90 mile drive and before I had no issues, I've drifted and everything. So continuing my story I was at about 80 miles in and it started bogging out of nowhere. So I pulled over and the rpms started bouncing crazy from 1k to about to about 2500. Once stopped it went from around 200-1500 so I let it die out, I let it sit for about 10 mins and it started right up and I finished my drive. Come later on and I am driving back home and I made it about 2 miles and it bogged out and diddnt start up for about 45 mins. I switched the fuel pressure regulator and temp sensor (has no over heating issues at all was just told to do it cause it could be the ecu) I switched my throttle position sensor aswell and so after I did all that It started up good. 15 mins of driving around fine it started bogging out and wouldn't start again. All this time though on cold start it has a hard time starting it takes a few cranks do you have any idea what my problem could be from cold start and the running issue ?
i dont have a clue on a specific part, but what i can say about it is that most 240s take a sec to start up. im talkin 5-8 cranks. Mine a little longer. But your problem only happens when your car is at operating temperature it seems. If i had to take a shot id say it may be the ignition switch/key cylinder. The contacts can corrode on the switch (back of the ignition cylinder) and can cause this. Id take a look at it man.
Full Tilt Drift
I will double check it but the thing about that is I have no ignition switch/ key cylinder. previous owner broke it so I have switches now. I drift it and everything it's ran good (about a year now) :/ thank you again for your response ! Subscribed
javier tapia could it be the maf sensor?
+javier tapia - When you put the KEY into the ON in the ignition. WAIT until you hear the Fuel Pump STOP.... Usually 3-5 Seconds.... Then turn on your Car / Truck... It should fired up right away. Give that a try... Something took me a while to learn and I just did a Video today.

What year/model is that idle air control valve for? I have a 1990 Nissan 204SX that is having a problem with it and we are trying to figure out if it just needs to be cleaned, or if it needs to be replaced.
I'm about to take mine apart on my 93 s13. Idle stays at 2k and gradually increases to 2500 then back to 2.
Forgot to remove the engine and how to adjust the dler control spring
Can you replace it without taking off the intake manifold?
Benjamin Wolf yes
great progy except for the carb cleaner that may end up frying up your internal bushings and it'll eventually be shortening the life of your isc motor
i will strongly recomend you to use simple green instead of the harmful carb cleaner
what i do, whenever i'd serviced these iscs, i fill a metal container w/ simple green and let the valve stay submerged in it overnight - after disconnecting any electric parts attached to it of course
then i blow some compressed air through it and i do lubricate any moving parts w/ some marvel mistery oil before its installation
it just works great!
cheers
While i agree that carb cleaner isnt the best fot the rubber and soft components inside, there arent many of them, and carb cleaner usually takes some time to damage these items, hours usually.
Simple green I dont reccoment either in its undiluted form, as i have personally witnessed it eat rubber floor matts and rubber washers. So while brief exposure may be fine like carb cleaner, I wouldnt be leaving them in overnight.
Just something else to consider. I used rhe carb cleaner because of the penetrating efficiency, therefore ideally reducing the time anything was exposed to chemicals.
Could the Teflon tape break down from heat, and be sucked into your intake, therefore causing other problems?
Teflon takes a pretty good amount of heat to do anything like melt. You are ganna have to be the judge on your own vehicle, but if its not near the exhaust Id say it will be fine.
+Hb Hiker - Good observation and thinking for sure. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe you can use " Liquid Teflon or High Heat Silicon " or even " Liquid Thread-Lock " ???
Jordan Bronson definitely not threadlock if its an adjusting screw unless you dont want it to move. Any kind of gasket maker dries and becomes useless if you adjust it in the future because you will break the seal. I only teflon taped mine because of a lack of proper sealing there, its not a necessity if thats not thr case
+Full Tilt Drift - Hahahahahahaha, I didn't mean it in a way that NASA putting " Thread-Lock " on their Space Shuttles.... Only NASA idiots will do that. You put just " a dab " on so the screw doesn't loosen through time and you will still have a chance to adjust if you have to in the future. BTW... Did you read the part in my post... " Maybe " ??? LOL
+Full Tilt Drift - Hahahahahahaha, by the way... There is a " BLUE " Thread-Lock which is " Removable / Reusable ".... NOT RED... but BLUE !!!! LOL
What vehicle is this for?
You can start with showing how to remove the intake manifold first.
Not what this video is about. Every manifold is different
@@fulltiltdrift4909 do you have a video about it?
It’s not that hard to figure out how take off an intake manifold boss, use a light and see for yourself what needs taken apart
anyone know the name for the purple-connecter sensor next to the valve motor? Try as I might, I can get exactly bupkis when I look for info on it - like it's some kinda state secret or something.
Ill check for you today my guy
online i see peoplle calling it the fcid connector which is used to up the idle when AC comes on.
can your car die out cause of this? if it's really dirty? I'll clean mine. my car turns off but it's random when it is stopped (specially uphill )
itll turn on like 2-3 times like every 15 miles on normal traffic.
its possible, but generally when its super clogged it will just NEVER idle right and either get real close to dying out, or itll rev to like 1k to stay alive all the time.
+Full Tilt Drift yo! it was it! but I think mine was like the valve! so I got a new one and replaced it. I actually did a video on it too and car no longer turns off. would be cool if you could check it out. thanks BTW.
Could we use ultrasonic claner?
+美光伍 honestly im not sure what ultrasonic cleaning involves but yes probably. as long as it doesn't ruin the metal parts in there, since mine had no rubber to mess up.
Full Tilt Drift thanks for your information
I just noticed when he said shouldn't be to hard
Put the motor back in the car stupid then say some dumb shit like that

how many minutes if the engine is still in the car?
A few more
eye protection and gloves!
Carb cleaning in the eyes burns like no other, tates bad also.
I had to check when this video was uploaded after I started watching it. Looks like it was shot with a top of the line 2006 camcorder.
It was shot on some iphone 6 or newer. Problem was i was editing with windows movie maker at the time 🤣
I cleaned mine by blocking it off and throwing the iacv in a 30 gallon trash can
must be super bright outside.
Nope, just filmed it on a potato to achieve that effect lol
Really easy when the engine is out of the car....
You can always take yours out too
Little more than a 6 min job if you have to take out your whole intake
Still have car?
In six minutes i must apart engine from the car and then clean iac ? 😂👨🔧🚗
Easy for him to say. Most of us do NOT have our motors OUT of our vehicle, when doing this kind of maintenance 😆 But thanks for info 👍
U forgot a bolt
Dylan Jarman dont worry it was just hiding so i put it in later

Great video but I could have done without the idiotic 'music'.
Then find another video man
You are too fast for me
