Lots of fun had by all. Broken, rescued, patched up, reenforced rebuild, back out on the trail in about 24 hours. Modifications tested and Xtreme trail rated approved. Project General Chevy is finally getting some hard core trail legs to handle that heavy ass frame.
Like your channel dude! I follow trail Mater n cool to see all these off-road dually 4x4 trucks out rock crawling n towing n fixing people to get them out! 👊🙌💯
Another Wrecker in Moab🤪😁 Trail Mater and Moab Mall Cruisers Send Matt (MORR), and Paul (FabRats), and Rory (TrailMater), Eric (BSF Recovery Team) and Frikt Gararge, a few videos of your Wrecker, and let them know you want to play with them all at the Off-Road Wrecker Olympics
I must admit that looking at the bar work I am surprised it held at all, where did his cooler go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I would have built it in bigger and thicker walled tube personally
I spent 25 years welding pipe and boiler tubes and the first thought that went thru my head after seeing that setup was 'why in the hell would you use thin walled piping, looked like sch 40 carbon steel, to mount your suspension to?'. I would have used sch 80 chrome tubing myself
@@mikhail2400 Also where that box up against the back of the cab it should have had more tubing in the place of that to counteract the leverage minimum.
@@livewithnick Not a joke. More like they underestimated the level of stress that thin walled pipe could handle. If you look at the pipe it had that one 3-4 inch section that didnt have something welded to it and it broke dead in the center of that section. Every where else something was welded to the pipe which helped handle the load but that section was just the pipe
That "rear cage" as offroad racer guys would call it, REALLY needs some engineering. Terrible design to take the loads of the coilovers on that heavy ass, hard worked truck.
@@moabmallcrawlers I'm building 3 Cummins powered Diesels myself. An 85 crewcab on a 96 Dodge Cummins frame ect, an 82 GMC pickup going onto my 89 gen1 Dodge Cummins frame & a 91 Suburban that's getting a Cummins. I love the power & TQ, I mainly use my trucks for towing, daily driving & family haulers to & from the play grounds. I so want to build a couple of capable & 90% dedicated offroad rigs able to haul 4 children & 2 adults. Any ideas or suggestions? I wanted to try & keep it lighter for mud, snow & some sand in my area. Thanks
