Recovering A Wrecked Ford And Adding To The Fleet

- We went in to get the wrecked Ford on Steelbender Trail. Once we got there we decided on winching forward then driving it into position to winch it out. However we found the right line and managed to drive it right out with some spotting. Once out we rigged up the Scrambler behind Trailmater and headed out. We got it down to the body shop for repairs. Then we happened across yet another tow truck. We worked out a deal with Dustin from Moab SxS and we are going to build him a SxS specific recovery rig out of am old Ford ranger rock crawler I have. Look forward to that being introduced soon. I want to see trailmater pull a trailer with another trailer attached to it with only a bicycle on each trailer and on a trail “not rated for trailers”. Just so the haters will hate.

Agreed. If you really want to get a stock 4x4 crew cab pickup through there, Rory and crew are the guys to do it. I was surprised at how easily it got un-stuck and drove out.
Except for the wheels buried in the sand, it came out using the finesse tool!

Man! I gotta say, I drove right by the new and old shop this past Friday evening. I dont know if it's just me, but the videos just don't do it justice, all of your rigs are beasts! And it brightens my day when you, matt and Paul all drop new content! Keep up the great job guys!!!

my exact thoughts...looked like a pretty long wheel base for that clearance...P.U. had the guts, Rory provided the brains making it easy for Shawn to drive out with some cool AC on high.
Any video that begins with Lilli's sweet, shy smile is going to be good!

Recovering the Silver Ford went easier than I thought it would. Appreciate your efforts in trying not to do anymore damage than is necessary. Lillie did a great job with the camera. I know you guys must be proud of her. Later -------

I like the idea of a Ford Ranger SxS recovery rig. It will be the right size and have the right capabilities to handle the majority of problems SxS get themselves into.

Nicely done on the recovery. Buying a Ford for a new wrecker, all the Chevy guys will lose their minds. The trans sounded like one of my old ZF's lots of noise but never blew up. Lillie is getting really good behind the camera. Thanks for sharing.

At first I thought it was worn syncros, but making that sound letting off the gas makes me suspect otherwise. At least ZFs are pretty straightforward to rebuild, if that's the plan.
It's ok to be a ford the body not bad. Just break out the welder and torches and the chevy mounts put that spare 454 and chevy tranny and chase. LOL LOL

7:03 Just did that obstacle in a rented UTV a few days ago. We went down it, then decided we were way in over our heads and turned around. Wife and kids got out, locked the diff, put it in low and hoped I wouldn't get stuck. Felt way gnarlier than it looks on vid.
That. Was . awesome! Brand new (nearly) bone stock Stupid Duty. With Mike spotting, they DROVE it out. Respect.

Proper planning definitely made that Ford recovery look simple on camera. Always awesome to see Lilly getting more experience with recoveries and filming. Pretty soon she should be able to help Dad run the brakes in the towed vehicles!! Another tool to the fleet? AWEOSME!!
Thought for sure your copilot would ask you to stop midstream so she could soak her feet in the cold water to cool off. The FORD project will not only be great content but, like you said, offer another dimension in recovery.

Oh hell. It's back to the crazy stuck Ford. I had almost forgotten that one. What a mess. It's amazing they got such a large, heavy truck in such an incredibly tight spot.
Man the stream that appears a couple times in this video looks like a oasis..especially knowing that it’s like 110° in Moab now! That SD recovery went perfect..looked way worse than it turned out to be..which is nice for a change.
Never owned a true 4x4. Never go off road (I don't think diverting to a highway median or shoulder to avoid an accident counts). But, I was impressed how that stock appearing 4x4 handled that situation, at least with that driver.
I love that after a little tug, she came out under her own power.. kudos 😄🤘🏼🇺🇲

Just from the look of things, business wise, they don't need all the space since they ship out repairs. Perhaps lease was up and things aren't cheap anymore. Plus YT is not paying what it once did..

I used to drive one of those around Denver. Glad I wasn't the owner. If you think the 454's drink gas that 460 is yelling Hold My Beer! I'd consider putting that wheel lift on your blue squarebody.
