@11:10 you are correct it doesn't take the stats. The reasoning behind it is that its stats are defined by the lingering effect of Nibiru, which stops applying as soon as it becomes an equip card. If it were an Adventurer token, which gets summoned with original set stats of 2000/2000, Anima would gain the ATK boost like normal.
TLDR; always read the card creating the token, if it has "? ATK" no boost.

Last time i used Invoked i played a mini Branded engine with Shadow's Light. Turning Aleister into Quem and giving you another fusion with Cartesia is busted, while the 2nd normal summon allows Aleister to get Invocation AGAIN since neither effect is OPT. I don't see the synergy with Kash so i assume they are just powerful non-engine.
I'm curious if the Horus Volcanic player played Canopic Protector since these lists typically play Foolish Burial Goods. I have nightmares from a really good player DESTROYING ME (playing unchained, previous format) because they either FTKed or made my LP less than 1500 with double Counter in GY (only DEF pos monsters + 2 counters so no SP shenanigans) and I just couldn't attack since any battle damage would be reflected and was lethal. It felt so good to time him in return with Machinex (1000 LP gain) on our last match.
