- Politically incorrect by today's standards, this WWII ditty voiced in a playful manner the rage of a nation attacked and brought into a war it had tried desperately to avoid.
raynefallz1 wrote: BTW, the Soundie concerning the slapping (no longer up) was done by the Four Sportsmen (I'm still working on a year and artist/orchestra info). Cheers... - Krátké a kreslené filmy
very important piece of musical history. I believe this was almost an immediate response to pearl harbor.
It was and it raised moral in our people
I love how decided and polite the waiter was. It's like:
"You said it's the biggest conflict in the history of mankind? Damn right, son!"
Two "master races" that quickly learned America wasn't to be trifled with.
Buster Thursday The term is a translation error and America fought the wrong enemy. The USSR was worse.
Auxiliary Infantry
They were both monstrous and you know it.
Germany was more dangerous,
@@HooDatDonDar yes, they all were. Except Italy though, they were just a puppet 😁
You could - if you are a race fanatic.
There is a video here somewhere making fun of the master race idea. Now, what was it called?
@Goldberg1337 My Uncle who served in WWII bought this and many other of these 3 minute mini movies called "Soundies" from 1948-51 after the company (Soundies Distribution Company) that filmed them went belly up. They were created to be played in a video jukebox machine called a Panoram. Thank you for your interest!
I love you, America.
yes terminate
Love you too. But LOATHE trump.
We love you too so much that we sent 2 gifts over your cities
We love you too good man.
Coming from a misplaced British person, I can’t help but disagree. Though I doubt that’s not for me to say.
Thin, deep voiced guy (Ravenscroft) did the Tony the Tiger voice!
I knew I had heard him before.
You can’t find singers with voices like this anymore
Phalexan sure you can, not as common though.
Hard to find many Japanese willing to hop into a plane to suicide fly themselves at an enemy for the glory of their flag these days as well, i’d guess
well, since auto-tune came along people have been valuing... other things instead.
The waiter just throws his cap and apron and the girls smile. This is hilarious.
Where were these songs in my war?
Ben Brown what war?

Hey! I'm viewer 1945! How about that?
That’s amazing, I’ll tell you what. We’re all going to chip in and buy you a cake with vanilla frosting. Just send your address and forward to Uranus!
Hey, how 'bout that huh?
After doing a google image search I believe the guy singing to John Rarig's voice is Ronnie Kemper.
Brit here, still lookin for that yellow, cant find any
It's in a circle of stars on a blue field.
@@WiggaMachiavelli so you can’t, either.
@@HooDatDonDar No longer, thank God.
This is truly amazing
1:30 four service men: Solider, sailor, airman, Marine.
Marines are part of the navy, and at this time, the air force was part of the army, so there are only two services here. The only two we had; the army, and the navy.
I like how merry they are when they're singing about indiscriminately killing the Japanese
To be fair, they were kinda asking for it when they attacked Pearl Harbor
Problem
i feel bad for Japanese civilians it wasn't their fault their government was batshit insane signed a pack with Hitler and started war with us
@@flashkingbro8704 Wow thats so sad. Don’t actively support militaristic regimes I guess
@@powerthirst1478 there civilians they don't control their government alot of ppl hated the government for getting them into a pointless war
Playing this in japan
After skipping their way into the US Forces, these men were killed in a kamikaze attack on their first day of duty.
Johnny Freedom maybe not against troops, but they could be deadly if they carried explosive materials and smashed into a refueling area on a carrier.
Odds favored them standing on the deck of the Missouri, watching Japan surrender.
The guy at 0:27 sort of looks like Ted Cruz.
He's immortal. Illuminati confirmed!
Gregor MacArthur oh my god he fucking looks exactly like him
Honestly the word Jap is not even offensive anymore since it was used years ago and nobody really cares about the slur anymore.
Where did you ever find this gem?
Vocally this is Bill Days, Max Smith, John Rarig and Thurl Ravenscroft. Physically when they are standing in a row it's unidentified (not Rarig), Max, Bill, and Thurl. John Rarig must have had the day off :)
Croonr1 Thurl Ravenscroft was the voice of Tony The Tiger in the Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercials as well as the man who sang "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" in the animated TV special "How The Grinch Stole Christmas."
And did the “No Dogs Allowed” song in “ Snoopy Come Home”.
theres no yellow in the red white and blue
Big_Lenny v1 I mean. It could be either.
Only room for whites, native Americans and the Blue Man Group?
Dame Desu okay troll
Flying Giraffe he just Blue himself
Yeller belly
Is that Thurl Ravenscroft?? The guy sang "You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch?" (edit: It indeed is!)
Your absolutely correct - nicely done!
They did go to Tokyo, didn’t they? Not just propaganda.
But why’s it backwards?
The film is backwards because it was meant to played on a Panoram Video Jukebox, a coin operated machine that played a 3 minute film and the viewer watched in a mirror mounted at the top. Why didn't I reverse the image? Because I wanted the viewer to gain the complete experience of watching it correctly in a mirror - so now it's on you to watch it again, but this time in a mirror.
Ok, I’ll try it! (G)
Thanks for the research.
Onward America us Yankees will never yield to anyone! Down with the traitors and up with the stars!
And sic semper tyrannus, and Deo Vindice, too!
:p
Deo seems to have given up on the Vindice about 1865.
Maybe He was busy trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath were stored?
I’m all for patriotic fervour, but I don’t think I could ever even get close to comprehending your American way of patriotism. It’s truly bizarre to a foreign audience. I think my country of England is pants, and that’s the opinion of everyone here. I think all countries are rubbish in their own special way, including yours. I do wonder why our American cousins love their country like this in times of peace. Anyway, do what you like.
@@nikolaaston5239 they are men i think demn ye must be an londistani haha
@@nikolaaston5239 Because the US is a global superpower, and it is the the only country founded on individual liberties, as opposed to monarchs, like yours. Not to mention the tons of good it's done for the world.

Wtf
No i mean there's no wars happening bro
Does anyone know why this film is a reversed image?
Hood classic 🔥🔥🔥👨🚒👨🚒🚒🧯
great
@Quidamkid Wow, that's awesome!
Ooh I wouldn't worry too much about Yokohama.
"Thumbs up England - we're proud of you! We'll show them there's no yellow in that red, white, and blue."
Dang. How could a line that's so clever be so racist? So many layers.
Oh dear, I always thought they meant "no yellow in the red, white, and blue" like they weren't yellowbelly cowards. I never would have caught that double meaning.
@@Tubular_dude_20y_ago I heard this song dozens of times before I caught it. It's an incredibly clever line. In one sentence, they say:
"We're on your side now, England, and we agree with everything you're doing. Furthermore, we invoke our historic ties by noting that both of our flags are red, white, and blue. Neither of our flags include yellow, the color of cowardice, and according to the average American from our time, the color of Japanese skin. Therefore, neither will we."
It's very clever, but chilling, considering it's a direct foreshadowing of Japanese internment camps.
@@JamesKmosko I don’t think that’s it. They also mention ‘cowardice’ in relation to Japan, and I think that is the double meaning. People were still pretty mad about the ‘cowardly’ sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. You can find racial attitude in wwII propaganda, but I don’t think this is an example.
Also, there was some talk in europe about why the us had waited so long to join the fight, so I think that is referenced as well.
There's no yellow in the red, white, and blue 👍
There's Thurl raven's croft!!
Love it, but it looks like the film is in mirror image. All of the posters are in reverse. What gives?
It's a Soundie, a film designed to play in a video jukebox on the 1940's. They were projected on a screen at the bottom of the machine and viewed in a mirror at the top. I left it in the original format rather than reversing it to make the viewer aware of this bit of the history and to offer them the opportunity to watch it in a mirror like the people that watched it in the 40's if they wished. Incidentally the video jukebox was known as a Panaram Machine.
People thought it was going to be an easy war.
The Philippines, Tarawa, Guadalcanal, Iron Bottom Sound, and New Guinea proved them wrong.
But we regardless
Better dead than yellow.
Duyyuiiiiiinnnnngggg
its so catchy
I just made this video demonic.
Cringe level 💯
