    Just a stunning boat! I think this would be a tough call between this and a Nordhavn. But i must say the Fleming seems a bit more Classy .

      Having worked on both types I'd have to give the quality edge to Fleming but both are superb Yachts.

    • @mkp3824
      @mkp3824 Před 2 měsíci

      They're two different boats. The Fleming is a power trawler. It normally cruises at trawler speeds but can get up and go (18 knots to 20 knots) if necessary. The Nordhavn is just a pure trawler.

    The F58's engineering and design are of a higher level for a reason and that is Fleming got naval architects Norman R Wright & Sons of Brisbane to do all the work. To me (I'm originally from Brisbane) the engine room looks like a typical NRW&S design. NRW&S have over 100 years experience designing and building these trawler style cruisers. The F58 was so successful Fleming has now commissioned NRW&S to do the design and engineering for the new F85.

    The Fleming…. My partner and I both fell in love with this brand for live aboard, so well laid out and great safety in all areas both inside and out for our family. We liked the fact you wouldn’t be living on top of one another and the fact if the weather did turn you wouldn’t feel as worried as on some trawlers we looked at…. The systems are all backed up, everything is labelled, and flemings back up is brilliant….
    We are still looking but Fleming as a brand and the UK team in the Solent have put them to the top of our list….
    Great tour 👍🏻

    Great video. I have watched this a couple of times now. Do you think you will be getting access to the new Fleming 85 any time soon? I would be great to see the closed in bridge version to see how much more space is achieved for indoor living. That would be my ideal live aboard. Thank you.

    One thing I noticed that I’m ‘splitting hairs’ At 07.10 the transom door looks like it’s shaped where if a wave ‘pooped’ you in a following sea, the door could burst open (held closed by what looks like one bolt latch) If the door was angled the other way, the wave would force the door closed rather than open. Like a non-return valve in essence. I’m watching this video because it’s my dream boat, and when I win the lottery, will be straight on the phone to Flemming 😁

    Sorry bro, u forgot to mention basic weaknesses in the engine room. No engine rail guards, engine room high issue, plus Fleming founder had cat engines which Vompany has now replaced with Cummins, obviously not the same quality. I believe they charge far more then what should be the actual price of any Fleming yacht

    • @pjtemplin
      @pjtemplin Před 2 lety

      Depends on whether you're ordering it new, or buying it used. Wait time is probably 18-24 months these days; they only build 15 yachts a year total across 5 models, and they probably only have one hull mold for each size so there's a limit to how many of any given model they can crank out annually. If the build slots are already spoken for, you can only take a number. They'll customize whatever is flexible, but there are only certain floor plans and certain aspects are boxed in.

      After seeing the substandard build quality on their flagship N120, I lost most of the respect I had for Nordhavn. Couple that with their preference for single engine designs, and it’s a hard pass.

    Two issues with this vessel. It needs an enclosed bridge (with a hard top). The lounge area is designed as a big dining room. The are needs to be configured with more/better “living room” type seating.

      What's more amazing is that you can spend that much fairly easily on many center console boats with a few 75, 000 each outboards hanging off the back. If I'm spending this kind of money to boat I at least want the option to get out of the rain. Not to mention pumping thousands of dollars in fuel every time you leave the dock. Most don't intend on paying it off anyway. Just 20 or 30 grand a month in interest and let the principal ride till you trade her.
