Really informative video gents. Fabuli.
1 - Androgen Receptor Basics: The androgen receptor is a protein located throughout the body in various tissues. It binds to androgens like testosterone and DHT, leading to gene transcription in the nucleus. Androgen receptor sensitivity varies due to factors such as receptor density and the folding quality of the receptor protein, influenced by the length of CAG repeats within the gene.
2 - CAG Repeats and Health Implications: The number of CAG repeats in the androgen receptor gene affects androgen sensitivity, with implications for muscle building, risk of certain cancers (like prostate and breast cancer), and conditions like sarcopenia. Average CAG repeat length varies by population, affecting disease susceptibility and physical characteristics.
3 - L-Carnitine's Role: L-Carnitine, a small peptide, enhances energy metabolism, reduces muscle protein degradation, and increases muscle protein synthesis. It positively affects the androgen receptor by increasing receptor density and activity, thereby promoting muscle hypertrophy.
4 - Heat Shock Proteins and Androgen Receptors: Heat shock proteins stabilize androgen receptors and other proteins within cells, responding to stress. Their levels are crucial; too high or too low can have implications for diseases, including cancer. Practices like sauna use may naturally upregulate these proteins, potentially benefiting androgen receptor stability.
5 - Nutrient Timing and Exercise: Timing of nutrient intake around exercise can influence muscle protein synthesis and possibly androgen receptor activity. While there's no clinically significant anabolic window, consuming nutrients post-workout, especially with L-Carnitine, can enhance muscle building effects.
If Reddit was a dr it’s this guy
Seems there is another science based channel which I "must" watch regularly now... I like the length of these episodes, not too long, but still a lot of good information.
Thank you! We take pride in bringing quality and informational content to our viewers.
I heard Dr. Gillett on the Huberman podcast. A wealth of knowledge and presented in a calm, non overwhelming way. Excellent.
This channel is gold, I'm excited for your growth. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Your take on L-Carnitine vs ALCAR? Thanks
What is the best creatine and the best L-Carnitine supplements on the market? anybody
Love your content! Thanks for starting the CZcams channel, following your journey to millions of subscribers 👏
Thanks guys, this was excellent
This is gold ! Love the content.
Does glycine activate 5Alpha Reductase?
Look forward to more informative videos.
have you guys considered linking the studies you reference?
Great job. This is an excellent channel.
Thank you!
Good video 👍🏼
Wonderful conversation. Question for you (possibly for another episode): can someone be in the normal range but still be too low? For example, can the body want to be around 700 but someone's producing 500?
So... Sauna bad or good?
Great info. Could you possibly improve sound quality?
In light of l-carntinines effect on androgen receptor density would you recommend avoiding supplementation for people susceptible to pattern hair loss?
Is it possible to find your CAG sequence in the raw data of your genome (23andMe)?
Unfortunately, you cant find in it 23andMe and Nebula.
TMAO? Only if you’re eating a lot of red meat. Which I do not. Chicken, Turkey, vegetables, fruit and probably 3 times a year, steak.
So how much L-Carnitine should I take orally to get benefits? I don't like to inject anything but the bioavailability of the oral L-Carnitine is very low :(
3 grams daily
♥️
I listened to the entire video and understood nothing😂
