It happens throughout every culture. I was sexually molested by 5 of my 7 brothers. I remember telling my mother when I was 4 years old. She beat me and told me not to talk like that. In front of them. Giving them permission to abuse me. I don't have anything to do with any of my siblings. There's no way I would expose my daughters to them. I'm 61 and will not ever forget what they did. Nor will I forgive. I'm not God,they can ask him for forgiveness. But they know to stay away from me. That goes for my 3 sisters, who still cover it up and play family. Fuck that. Before anyone comes at me with some forgiveness is for me,save it. I'm happy I have a wonderfully amazing husband,3 daughters,2 sons in law and 2 amazing grandchildren. I've made a good life and I'm loved and I love my family.

I am happy to read that you are in a happy, safe and loved environment that you created despite being neglected as a child.
You are completely correct that this abuse and neglect happens across all sort of cultures and is more common than statistics show as we don’t often speak out.

@@londonslifecoach hi Nina, I just watched your survival story on Unfiltered stories with tears in my eyes...I was so affected by your ordeal, that I was searching you on Google to see I can find out whether or not your family had to face any legal consequences for their abuse ( wishful thinking) or at least any backlash from the community? I hope you know what an extraordinary and strong person you are to devote your life to helping others after everything you've gone through. Your children are so lucky to have you 🧡💪

How can parents especially a mother do that to their baby girl. I saw her baby pics on google she was such a beautiful cute child. How could the family do that. People who are worried about what their community think are usually corrupt evil people themselves showing they are holier than thou. Her story is shocking but she’s alive to tell her story.

Hi Jackie - taken on board thank you. The mic situation was an issue with the audio interface and was indeed very unfortunate to realise in post-production, especially as it was such a powerful conversation. But I'm glad people have still been able to capture the key messages and emotion from it.
