  • In this episode we take the BMW E34 525i Turbo to the dyno! First time doing some pulls with the Mighty M50B25 Turbo! How much Power can we get out of this?

    630cc injectors. 255 Walbro Fuel pump.
    Intercooler, wastegate and turbo mounted. Easy budget setup.

    You should rebuild the vanos unit you'll get alot more low down torque and better spool time definantly worth it

      Should really run standalone, and tune the vanos to just be on/off and it will be a lot more efficient, unlock low down power and then turns off.

    I had a stock 525i in silver with white interior for ashort while , one of the best looking cars period.

    now you need to compare it with the last 0 to 100 kmh old tune , new tune .
    hope it will make a good difference with the new tune

    mine hits dyno friday and this hyped me up!!
    m50 non vanos, ecu master, 800cc injectors, walbro 255, gt 35, 5 speed zf trans,6 puck racing clutch
    looking to make around 350-400hp

      Running stock internals but they are good to 400hp and 8-10 pounds of boost

    The Vanos is not gonna increase top end horse power, it’s just for low end torque.

      Vanos unit turns intake cam 15 degrees in milddle range rpm so it makes a big difference how early the maximum boost appears. In Finland we have a lot of these engines boosted and they all are making ~400hp and Max boost comes around 3000-4000rpm with decent turbo. Non vanos engines need a big overlap to get turbo spoilerin early and that causes a bad low end torque

    Supp I have a 320i e36, i would like to apply a turbo kit but i don't see much 20i it turbo kit, is it too much for the engine?

    Is your car able to hit 200 km/h in under 20 seconds (or 100-200 km/h in under 14 seconds?) If it can, it is really worth all the costs of modification.

    When the engine started at the front of the vid, every individual valvetrain sound is got to be at least a few hp. You mentioned fuel there but I would fix the vanos 1st.

    Why diesel bmws are underrated in other countries besides in finland, poland, etc, I don’t understand. You get so much more power and torq out of them.

      Because of shitty sound and lack of RPMs. From the back u can get good sound but in front of a car you will always hear that tractor sound.

    Rev meter doesnt work i see :) a quick fix for that will be if u just take the signal cable in to the black cable in the OBD1 output that work fine but its a little deelay

    my m50b25 stroker engine has 275hp. and i think is way cheaper to built. M50 with right internals ezzy 500whp by turbo:) cool wid dow!

      But The drivetrain is The same in The car even if it is on a Rolling road or a hub dyno, all cars have diffrent % loss

      @@tingsdal I have tuned cars since 2003, i have my own dyno and tuned cars all over the world. Used and tested pretty much every dyno brand there is. Did all The experiments between hub dynos, single roller, dual roller, engine dynos.
      M50 is NO WAY NEAR 21% on a hubdyno, not on any dyno for that matter. Iv'e probably tuned 300 M50 tubos in the 400-1100hp range.
