  • Navigating the Labyrinth: To Whom Do We Offer?
The journey of sacrifice takes on different hues depending on who we offer it to. While acts of charity towards fellow beings are commendable, they hold the potential for pride and the expectation of gratitude. To truly transcend these limitations, we must turn our gaze upwards, towards a higher ideal, a being worthy of our complete surrender.
The scriptures speak of four types of receptacles for our offerings: the Tamasic, dominated by negativity and greed; the Rajasic, driven by ambition and fame; the Satwic, motivated by compassion and selflessness; and the Nirguna, the embodiment of divine consciousness itself. As we refine our intentions and elevate our consciousness, we naturally gravitate towards offering our Seva to the Nirguna, to the Divine within and without.
The Art of Giving: Humility, Compassion, and Beyond:
Finally, the essence of true sacrifice lies not just in what we offer, but in how we offer it. Humility becomes the guiding light, reminding us that everything we possess is a gift from the Divine. Compassion fuels our service, urging us to see the Divine spark in every being and alleviate their suffering. And above all, we must let go of any expectation of reward or recognition. The very act of giving becomes the reward, the blossoming of love within our hearts the sweetest fruit of sacrifice.

Whatever is most desired by one within this material world, and whatever is most dear to oneself - one should offer that very thing to Me. Such an offering qualifies one for eternal life.

Atmahuti is the highest sacrifice, and we have to start from the lowest to achieve the highest. Thank you Swamiji for letting us understand this.

Very beautiful message by Swamiji on the new year, elevating ourselves to higher levels, think of others who are suffering in ignorance, showing them the light, practicing humility to increase compassion, hence use each all our skills and money in uplifting of others and helping others, never expect rewards, serving itself to others counted as a reward. Great way of starting new year with this beautiful thoughts

My Guruji has exemplified this point so clearly and crystal clear. He has told again and again the concept of Sharanagati. The moment you surrender to God and Guru fully the grace begins. But the surrender should be complete. It should not be lukewarm. There are 6 principles in Surrender to receive his grace. But, in my view, the first point is so strong that we can analyse our progress of surrender. That is, To desire according to desire of God and Guru.
Guru Shankaracharya said we should donate at least 10% of our earnings to a good cause without expecting name, fame and having ego. Many people do the charity to get their names so people start respecting and recognising them. This is again a false ego which he or she is identifying with the body.
Assuming, if 10% is too hard, start with 5% and then increase gradually as your financial situation improves. God and Guru see the intention behind your donation.
My Guruji has concluded the same in his final lecture that serve the lord with purity

Happy New Year! Thanks for your beautiful message Swami Ji. It profoundly encapsulates the essence of selflessness and altruism. It suggests that the act of giving, rather than the recognition or gratitude received, is the real reward. It further emphasizes the transformative power of giving, and how it can foster love and compassion within us. The reference to 'the sweetest fruit of sacrifice' beautifully portrays that the fulfillment derived from self-sacrifice is unparalleled. This message truly celebrates the human capacity for empathy and generosity. Radhey Radhey🙏🙏
