Ram, Sita, and Lakshman accompanied by the tribal chief, Guharaj, reached the banks of the Ganga, where they needed to cross over. There was only one boat and the boatman, named Kevet, sat on the boat. Despite seeing the Lord, Kevet remained seated. Ram requested him to take them across, but Kevet, a selfless and fearless devotee, expressed concern that if Ram's feet touched the boat, it might transform into the wife of a rishi, jeopardizing his livelihood. Kevet proposed washing Ram's feet to test the vessel's transformation, turning the situation into an opportunity to serve the Lord. After washing Ram's feet, Kevet requested that Ram ask him to perform the act, and with joy, he washed Ram's feet in a wooden vessel. Ram, Sita, and Lakshman then participated in a ritual to help Kevet's ancestors cross the ocean of life and death. Kevet, overwhelmed by the blessing of serving the Lord, refused any fare but accepted a ring from Sita as a prasad. In the end, Kevet humbly requested that when he passes away, Ram should take him across and promised to accept any blessing when Ram returns after 14 years. Ram and Sita then worshiped a Shivling before continuing into the forest.

My favorite scene in Ramayan â€đ
Glad to hear. Radhey Radhey !!
Wonderful explanation swamyji .
Thanks and welcome
Kevat story is so good. It states that God wants our selfless love for Him. There is no fear in our devotion when we do not have desires . With this sentiment if we worship God then God will be ours.
Good one. Radhey Radhey !!
It's quite pleasant to hear Ram Katha. My heart was truly captured by Pujniya Swamiji's explanation of the Kevat's dedication narrative in this video.
Above all, I cherished the assertion that a really selfless devotee would never fear anything and would constantly strive to help others.
â€
Stay tuned for more such stories.
Thankful for this Maharaj đ Jai Seeta Ram đJai Guru Deva Dutta
Jai Shree Ram
Jai Shri Raamđ. So much to learn from Kevat - we should not ask for material things from the lord. Kevat not only seek liberation for himself, he asked for every one of his ancestors.
Let's learn from all the Bhakts of the divine past times of lord.

Right
Radhey Radhey. So beautiful story of kevat whose heart is so selfless. My takeaway from this nectar is swamiji told that when we are selfless then we will be fearless. Selfless means we should not have any materialistic desires but inky have one desire that is to serve him â€â€â€
Ramayana is filled with nectar.
Loved it

But is kevat really selfless? If so then why did he asked for liberation or moksh from Ram? đą
Yes, Kevat is really Selfless, So that he can serve his Lord in His Divine abode (Sahet Lok) by being with Lord Ram Forever!!
