just a tip - isopropyl alcohol will soften the hotmelt and make it easy to remove.the piece from the chuck.

Braw pendant Andy. Good project. Love the new lathe it must be chalk and cheese, day and night of a difference for you. Ive got the Axminster 1628 which is the same only older.
Mine has operated faultlessly over the years and it is all the lathe that anyone could ever need, in my opinion. Having variable speed, forward and reverse as well as a rotating headstock and of sound robust construction certainly ticks all the boxes. Congratulations mate it will make a world difference in your turning journey for years to come.

Hi Cyrus... thank you... I I hadn't used it for a while... but last weekend I made a couple of pendants out of Padouk using the jig ... I had forgotten how easy it was ... use hot glue and when you turn the jig make sure that the face that you stick the pendant to isn't too big... then when turning you will be able to get around the back a little ...good luck with the set up ... take care...All the best.....Andy

@@AndysCornishCreations Yes, I noticed you were able to get both sides without flipping it, you can bevel the hole the other method, but one side is against the chest so that isn't a real issue, Great how to video, just got a smaller bench top wood lathe for jewelry, have full sized ones also, but for intricate work I'd rather be able to stay smaller. I also do metal, but that's precision metal work, mechanical things I create, wood is more relaxing to me and artsy, lol...
Thanks again for great video, will check your channel for more...

It's a beautiful pendant and your process well explained. The only suggestion is I, personally, would have liked the cord to hang parallel with the grain.
I have made a few pendants recently and have used B&Q double sided tape with no problems, except for the tape sticking to the pendant and its tedious to clean off and never to the block. ( Murphy's law).
    Many thanks
    James

Hi James....thank you very much...I couldn't agree more about the position of the hole...I got caught up with the filming and forgot to look where I placed the piece on the block...I have used double sided tape in the past without any problems but on that day it just wasn't happening....cheers..All the best.....Andy

Hi Steven....thank you.....I love the new lathe...quiet and beefed up engineering and power...the straps are not actually leather which was more expensive...so I went for black waxed cotton...looks pretty much the same...lot cheaper...means can sell a bit cheaper...I got mine from Ebay...type in....black waxed cotton choker necklace....mine came from China....supplier ...run9137.....there are some UK sellers but I assume they all come from China anyway....All the best.....Andy
