- I almost always would rather be designing a beautiful piece of furniture, but sometimes you need to build shop furniture and fixtures to make life around the shop easier. So instead of building your everyday shop furniture out of plywood, I decided to build a Green and Green Furniture piece and put a router in it.

It's nicer than most people's furniture in their house. This thing looks like it should be in your dinning room or living room.
I like this build. I have a Sommerfeld router table, but I get to build a cabinet to hold it. I think with a few minor modifications, this will support the table just fine.
Brian, wonderful job! this is what all shop furniture should be. I think the most discouraging words that most woodworkers say is “it’s just shop furniture”. It’s much more than that, it’s an opportunity to show your craftsmanship. Well done.

I need to now make all my tool cabinets like this so when I get old and die my children will want it for furniture at the very least if they don't end up woodworking. That would also make a shop look more friendly and inviting.

Awesome looking router table. I’m with you on trying to make my “shop furniture” look good. While you used mostly scrap lumber for your router table it came out looking great as well as functional. While I really like your drawer pulls and may use your design sometime in the future while watching I got a great idea for the drawer pulls on a lathe cabinet I’m making. Thanks for sharing your work.

Something I think is pretty amazing about you... Your shop isn't upgraded with all the fancy tools like Sawstop, Woodpecker, powermatic, Veritas and so on. I think it's a reflection of skill over posh. You make amazing things without all those fancy brand names.

That turned out very beautiful. I have the Incra router table, fence and all... The amount of stuff you can do with it makes it 100% worth the little space it takes. Also, when you're using it like a standard fence it is not taking up any extra space.
@@Benham_Design quite honestly, as a stand alone router table it takes the same space as yours. The only difference is you route across the narrow portion of the top.

Beautiful cabinet, and I must say I am in agreement that it’s difficult to understand why you don’t have many more subscribers. I wonder if joining the Mob might give you more exposure. My own top is almost identical to yours. The only difference is at the rear of the fence I made the dust collection box Perspex on top just for inspection
