I know the scenery isn’t as spectacular as climbing a mountain with Forest was or in some of my other videos but town days are a necessary part of life and I want to share as much of my lifestyle here as I can and when it comes down to it some days are pretty darn average 🤷🏻♀️

If you really want to get away from the fire smoke, you could head north. Both the Prince George and Northwest Fire Centres both have much lower fire danger, and campfires are allowed in those regions. If it wasn't an 8-hour drive to get to Prince George, I'd be camping up that way every weekend (I'm in Abbotsford). I envy the van life that lets you go where you want when you want.

Wow, I have driven in and around Kamloops/Lytton/Lillooet/Cache Creek area many many times and have never seen smoke like that. It was shocking to see.

You're so right about olives! I spent my whole life thinking I hated olives, but I occasionally try the foods I dislike because tastes change over time. At some point in my 30s, I tried them again and omg now I can't live without them! 🤩 And adding some sparkling water to the lemonade really amps up the refreshment value. I recently learned how to make proper lemonade and I haven't looked back.

I greatly appreciate the time you take editing and posting these videos, I'm now an older Solo traveler that normally travels to other countries but unfortunately we all know that's not happening anytime soon. I love traveling through you and Frank !!!, I decided to travel outside the country now, then in the US and Canada after retirement so I'm closer to home for medical if needed. You remind me of my younger years, ahhhhhh being care free 🙂

A good town day can be nice if its not too crazy. I'm down in the U.S. and my fire awareness has stopped at the border...thanks for making me aware that, of course, things are burning in many places. Hang in there, the season will turn soon and bring relief!

Yeah I don’t know if ppl get tht some days r just gonna be days where it’s not all about being in the water or climbing a mountain, etc. there r gonna be days when u have “things” tht need to be done, or what I would have is just a lazy day. When I don’t really feel like going out and doing anything and I just lay/sit around, LOL. Yeah those days,😂 And who wouldn’t wanna just sit down with Frank and cuddle him 🥰 he’s just so dang cute 😊 I hope u guys have found some cooler weather to be in, and less smoky for sure. Nice! Ya, when commenters allude to living the van life and uploading videos as being slackers or not paying into the system, they either don’t get what goes into the process or they just enjoy the troll. It’s “work” for the producer no matter how you stack it. The commitment is something to consider. Please stay in a safe zone with the fires... find some healthy air somewhere or retreat to an indoor space. The vids can wait. Be safe!

I'm from Kamloops. This past week has been awful in regard to smoke. In future vlogs, can you provide a bit more details where you are? I hope next time, you have a nicer visit. 😀
the air quality along the west coast is good because prevailing winds are moving smoke eastward. And of course the temperature is lower than in the interior.
Re-reading that comment made me realize it needed context. And the context is a suggestion that coming further west, out to the sunshine coast or the island could give your lungs a break and maybe provide more comfort for you and Frank. And the blackberries are ripe and abundant!
I love the sound of your videos. When you were walking the slack rope and all that you could hear was the dove and the creak of the rope. You could truly feel the concentration on the task. Then when you popped off at the end, all the city sounds sprang back into being. That was a SWEET bit of editing! As always enjoyed this video very much. Frank seemed so happy to be making new pals at the dog park. Those chips from Cosco are the bomb! They also sell an extruded veggie chip that is pretty awesome. Sometimes junk food is the perfect balm for a weary wanderer. :)
Oh yeah those veggie chips are great, although kinda weird how they seem to melt in your mouth, like popcorn twists but more veg...

Slacklining is great for balance, core strength and all the stabilizers muscles plus you really learn to feel the moment. Yoga really depends on the practitioner, but how I prescribe Asana is in a more restorative way of letting go.

Not to mom you, but have you considered a harness for Frank to use as a seat belt while driving? I’m loving your adventures together!
The landing spot looks pretty. Was that a fire in the background near the end? It brought a thought about a smoke detector, given the current fire danger, would a Co2 detector work on the outside of the Van to wake you if you were sleeping? Anyway, I agree with the cost of gas being significantly less at Costco, that and the cost of dog food saves me quite a bit each month and more than pays for the membership. I feed the same dog food to my dogs, though the dry version, and for my senior toothless dogs I add water, and they get that once it’s softened. I usually prep it before their feeding time. Very easy, even the big guys like it. I agree with dog park anxiety, it would probably dominate my enjoyment, unfortunately. You and Frank stay well🌟

Concerning fire near that area now
I recently discovered your videos, I like them. I was wondering what breed of dog is Frank? He seems like a wonderful companion.
How do you handle the prickly pears with a dog? I have issues with my German shepherd in that same area.
Not always, but the air is usually cleaner on the coast?? BC beaches look incredible, enjoy.
It is usually clearer, but it’s also MUCH busier and I’m just not into that. I prefer to visit the coast any other time than summer when it feels warm compared to the rest of BC

Not really, someone usually knows where I am and I have a inReach for alerts or if conditions rapidly change and I need to get more info. I travel with maps so I can always find a way out without relying on internet. Most of my vanlife I didn’t even have a phone so it’s a normal thing for me to be out of service
