I had seen a few trailers of John Wick but didn't catch it in the theaters. I would catch it when it hit the streaming services. But when the dog was killed, I was like, "oh, hell naw".
I knew at that point either this was about to become a blood bath or a freaken disaster of a movie that wouldn't live up to any level of expectation. Let's just say I have yet to miss a movie in this franchise and leave it at that. If his current dog gets killed, I suspect he will leave the city in question in ashes with nothing but ghosts to reside there. The body count will be epic in proportion.
Three truths about John Wick.
1. Don't talk junk about his wife.
2. Don't talk junk about his mother.
3. And whatever you do, don't even think about hurting his dog or even his dog's feeling.
Because doing any of the three is going to end real bad ... for you. And you might not even live long enough to regret the decision.
@@superdave8248 it doesn't matter about his mother because his mother and him were seperated at a very young age, John Wick probably won't go on a rampage as much as he did with his previous dog because he does not have that much attachment to him, but he will be very angry for sure besides the city will not be in ashes because probably the no.1 rule of john wick is to NEVER hurt innocent people, you can see him treating people who are not trying to kill him with care

There is no such house, address void. Spoke with neighbor caller, when very gently informed that they will be arrested and fined for pranking the PD next time, they promised to never do it again.
Based on your joking comment, I would be lead to believe you're actually LEO, dispatcher, or maybe security but the language is pretty accurate.
One of the best scenes, Jimmy rings the door bell and John isn't afraid to open up. Jimmy gives John respect knowing the dead man on the floor deserves to be there. "I'll leave you to it".... what a great line!
What's really nice is that Jimmy leaves his lights on and allows the lights to show his silhouette at the door so John knows that he doesn't intend anything. Jimmy is also probably the only cop on the force in that area that knows about John's past so he's probably the only one that ever gets sent there

I suspect these two have a brief past and Jimmy might know him better than all the others at the police station so they don't take chances and have him answer any calls to that address...

Always wondered about the back story there. @rockblockstudio. That whole thing with leaving the lights rolling to silhouette himself has to be a pre-arranged signal that Jimmy uses. The hat off bit was perfect too. Another signal, basically saying "I'm good & didn't see squat." Jimmy's report will end with seven words. "All necessary actions taken. End of report"
Jimmy the Cop, Francis the Guard and the two ninjas from the third movie are the smartest characters in the franchise. They're given the option to walk away and take it.
The scenes made me wonder that how far reach the assassins are in terms of blending in and covering up whenever someone is taken out in broad daylight. In the case of Morpheus's beggar gang I understand, but to have them posing as emergency crews and service workers? And that during the second movie's ending, everyone around Wick looked at their phone then him, implying there are enough assassins to make up a whole fucking nation.
Viggo's brother too. He was smart enought to accept peace.
Do people realize how important Keanu Reeves is to action movies? I don't think so. In '93 he does Speed, a movie that made Sandra Bullock's career and introduced the U.S. to those fast, John Woo style action movies that became so popular in the 90's. Then in '99 he stars in The Matrix and I don't have to tell you guys what THAT movie did for the action genre. Then in 2014 with not only action movies dying, but Hollywood itself becoming stale as hell - he stars in a mid-budget action movie named John Wick that totally revitalizes American action cinema and actually breathes new life into the genre. I would argue that Keanu Reeves is JUST as important to the ACTION MOVIE genre as guys like Arnold and Sly Stallone are. It's just that he can do pretty much any genre so people don't see him as an action star but there is no question that he is. He's just also much more than that. My favorite actor of all time. Not the best, but my favorite.
He started in Chain Reaction with Morgan Freeman a fun little movie.

I absolutely love Lance Reddick as the Concierge, the way he speaks and holds himself is a masterclass in minimalist acting. With so little motion or speech he is absolutely convincing in the role and brings such a depth of ambience to his scenes.

Youth. Viggo probably didn't think John and he would cross paths again so forgot to mention. Youth thinking they know everything and can best everything (not all youth) didn't show respect or common courtesy. In this case they messed with the wrong dude and well. Rest is history.

Love these movies. The scene where he is choosing "weapons" is so classy and truly enjoyable, he knows what he wants and will need and the seller knows the "weapons connoisseur language perfectly".

OR you could go with CZ, SiG, Walther, S&W or H&K striker option neither of which has ANY of those issues straight out of the box on the most basic versions.
Glock at this point is objectively the WORST base gun on the market from any reputable manufacturer and i would rather take one of the second rate options like Canik over Glock...
PS: if you have 1 kg trigger on Glock that means you have a range toy ... as part of the trigger weight is on striker spring you have to lighten up WAY too much to get to pull that light which defeats the purpose of reliable sidearm ... so not only would you have to replace whole trigger mechanism you also ended up with a gun that will have malfunctions on harder primers, wont work at all when wet and ifd any dirt gets into the striker channel you will have a bad day...
also trigger that light is BAD thing to have in stressful situation on something you have to draw from holster ...
You got to hand it to Michael Nyqvist (RIP) for setting this movie up when it comes to who John Wick is, a masterpiece of a scene written and performed

Viggo and Abram Tarasov, who were brothers, knew very well John Wick's skills and that's why they both called him "Baba Yaga": because his ways of killing someone were very brutal and he could transmit fear to anyone around him.

The respect towards John Wick is displayed in the 3rd movie, you see the 2 assassins at the end in the Continental giving John credit for being retired 5 years allowing him to recover momentarily and in return John spares their lives. I don't believe John Wick is based on revenge, John earned his freedom and that was taken from him, even the slightest bit that was left ( the fucking dog that Viggo mentions ). So John is back on the hunt to reclaim what he believes he deserves which is his freedom and justice.

That also showed how much The Tarasov family owed John. He basically cleaned the slate to have them built their empire. Otherwise they probably wouldn’t be near as powerful. I love how the movie delivers so much with not to many words Etc
Thing is, John Wick is a mass murderer...but...technically not a bad person.
You know for a fact the guy runs into just as many irritating assholes in life as anyone, and not only is he obviously not killing any of them (that would cause trouble for both himself, and everything under the Table), but he's at least cooly polite to everyone. You can see it in his interactions. When he trusts someone, he's very obviously more relaxed, and generally unconcerned. He gestures more when talking, speaks more easily, and doesn't hold himself ready.
Jimmy and the Doctor are excellent examples of this. While he initially prepares his weapon before answering the door because he doesn't know who it is, when he realizes it's Jimmy, he immediately slips into whatever tone and posture he presumably always uses with Jimmy (though Jimmy is clearly somewhat concerned). In the case of the Doctor, either the underworld's trust in their doctors is absolute, or John knows him from prior experience. But again, he's generally relaxed and calmly forthright.
John doesn't always mix well with other people, but he doesn't harbor animosity towards anyone, even most of the people he kills. He's just doing his job, and anyone who very explicitly gets in the way is fair game. Bystanders are pretty clearly always off-limits for him. Again, that's presumably because messing with things outside the underworld is deeply frowned upon, but I also like to think that John just doesn't really dislike most people. He's not a people person, but he's not a killer for the fun of it. He doesn't get jollies out of it. And that's part of what makes him the best.
It's also what allowed him to fall in love, and for him to be someone that another could love in the first place.

Francis rivals Jimmy. DOesn't argue with or try stopping John. Just has a conversation, gives a little intel in code and then takes the offered night off.
When the Officer takes off his hat it shows respect and honor to a man of stature. Or it could be just a sign saying "Oh PLEASE don't hurt me!!"

It’s probably just a respectful gesture. Jimmy asks if John is working again so it’s clear Jimmy knows what’s going on. They both acknowledge each other as “working” and therefore only brief exchanges are necessary.
You can tell it's such an often occurrence for the Wick House to have a dead body in it, that Jimmy, who gets sent there every single time, has interacted with John enough that they both are on that 1-2 word level.
You know that once you hit that level with someone, they'll hold your secrets to the death bed. "Hello John. Hello Jimmy, Noise Complaint? Noise Complaint, You uh, working again? Just sorting some stuff out. Oh well, I'll leave you be then, goodnight John. Goodnight Jimmy."

I think my favorite “oh” was when Viggo called and demanded to know why his son was punched. With the utterance of “oh”, all his anger shifted from the shop boss to his son for being a dumb POS, and then, as you said, the realization of “ Whelp, my son is fucked.”

The John Wick movies, much better than the Matrix in my opinion. Keanu Reeves is awesome, really brought the character of John Wick out,... a true professional actor.

My problem with the start of John Wick 2, is that if they knew who's car it was, why didn't just leave it out in the middle of the warehouse with the keys in it, and just left until the coast was clear?

Everybody respects and fears John Wick. Many people addressed him as 'Mr. Wick', but there are only a handful amount who can address him by his first name.
Even the cops don't mess with him.
You know what would’ve made the first scene better? If the room was filled with a bunch of big, tough looking guys who flinch at the name of John Wick.

You know things are royally f*cked when a mob boss like Viggo doesn't even bother with a low level (as far as we know) guy like Aurelio when Viggo is told his son stole the car and murdered the dog of Baba Yaga and all he can mutter is "Oh."

John Wick is that one guy who keeps to himself and everyone knows not to fuck with him. Then there’s is always that one young punk who thinks he’s the shit and fucks with him. We all know how it ends (spoiler alert, not well for the young punk).
The conversation of this movie hits the spot oscar or whatever you give is less. Straight to business talk so perfect to watch .
this is what i love about the john wick movies: no silly amounts of exposition like when the head of the russian mafia tells his own son you are fucked and i cant help you, you dont need to say anything else to establish him

Thank you so much for this compilation! I, too, love how people are in awe/terror when John's name is mentioned! I love that in the scene with Jimmy the Copper, John still sounds a little hesitant in his replies, not arrogant. As if to protect himself and Jimmy from any potential fallout. Like he's hoping they have some kind of silent agreement...lol
