I'm sorry, *what??*
That's such a tremendous FPS increase before to after! I've been in PC gaming for decades now and never even considered the GPU's audio driver impacting performance like that. 🤯
I said the same thing but it actually helped a lot
@@silfrido1768 I had constant blackscreens with my 3090 when I built my PC almost 4yrs ago. I randomly found out this suggestion from someone on a forum to turn off Nvidia HD audio and it solved all my freezing and issues. It's really good advice.
You always got something so useful even if it's so obscure. That's why I keep coming back to your videos. Good work. 👍
Wow 😯 I will try this, we need more videos like this as well as the repairs 🙏 thank you so much for taking your time to provide the content you do
Thanks! This trick seems to solve my latencymon poor performance results. I also had some terrible Nahimic (A-Volute) audio post-processing drivers/software installed that was introducing a noticeable audio lag in video reproduction (sometimes though). I've found a very useful Reddit post about a permanent removal of Nahimic as it's persistent like it's malware... BTW, I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 2021 (5800h+3070).
Love your content! Keep 'em coming!
I have similar Laptop and I uninstalled the Nahimic drivers, they seem to have a real bad reputation, and they also have some Telemetry built in. and people say the sound is actually WORSE with Nahimic than without, so just get rid of this crap. I think there's not even a proper uninstall for them, so you will have to remove them by hand, disable the service, disable the device, etc...
@@p4radigm989 Exactly, they are a royal pain in the a$$ to remove.
Thank you!!!! This appears to be the magic setting i was looking for!!!!! ...at least on the Borderlands 3 and Cyberpunk benchmark tests.
I bought a 4070 Super and it had higher framerates than my 3070, but everything was suddenly stuttering. Wiped the drivers with DDU and reinstalled, tried several other things... no luck. But this did it!!
Thanks for the advice, super simple and really useful
Damn! Never heard about this! 🤯
You have become my favorite YT channel by far. No.1 with a bullet!
thanks, i also played a game which runs smoothly at 80-90 fps then it drops to 30fps when you zoom in (shooter) and the suggestion i got on the web is setting a fps limit, which helped fix it. I'll try your advice too!
Also another fix would just not be to install the driver for it. Nvidia allows you not to install it. I usually just install the Nvidia driver and Physx is all. Using the custom installation and not select the HDMI audio driver
Total agreement, I also use custom install and just get the driver and physx if required. The USB and audio are better left with the motherboard drivers, and as for GForce Experience, don't like it and don't use it.
what physx for?
@@mircomputers1221 Some old games use Physx software for physics simulation. Remember the particle effects in Arkham City?
windows will install it automatically
@@AzimsLives not if you disable auto install drivers for windows and only get windows update
Man I’d love to see more videos like this, maybe more guides on driver conflicts? Just boosted my 3080 10GB by 7-10 fps in MW2. 218 consistently on the in game benchmark.
In VR for me it gained like 30 fps because it decreases CPU draw calls to and from the GPU and my CPU is what is used a lot more
Huh... Did not expect problems there!
Thanks for the video!
Excellent it works also on my MSI laptop. Fps are stable now. Thanks
OMG BRO THANK YOU SO MUCH I HAD THIS PROBLEM
FOR SO LONG I LOVE U
I love Valley benchmark and Love your Content 😎👍
Good work. 👍 Awesome video as always
You are a genius. Love your work my friend. 🤘🤘
thanks !
Well done for 100k subs . Great job .
Thank You!!! I've been having a stuttering issue with my laptop's RTX 4060 while playing GTAV with the FiveM app. I couldn't figure it out - I'd clear my cache, check my settings, turn on/off the MUX switch - couldn't get it to stop. This video helped me to clear all of the stuttering up. It's gone and the game runs as smoothly as it should with an RTX 4060, I9-14900HX with 32GB of RAM. Relieving the 4060 of the audio processing was just what my laptop needed. Thank you, again.
Bro,I've also got same gpu...but my shit isn't resolved even after this....what am I supposed to do now?🥲🥲
I have a 4070 founders 7950 X3D and b650 auros
@@Mad-MantaGaming Not to push an app on you, but, have you tried Advanced Systemcare? With it, you can easily adjust your startup programs, fix registry issues, clear RAM, etc. It's what I use, it really helps. The free version is great.
I think this did it for me.
NorthWizardRepair does it again. Glad to see you gaining subs at a rate of about 1k a day. You easily deserve 10m subs. Cheers
You my friend are a legend. Thank you for sharing this !!!!
DUDE!!!
you are an absolute godsend. I have been working with a dead laptop while in the process of building a pc and working on my financial situation. This dropped my GPU usage on my gaming laptop so significantly that it went from 40-55% usage to 0% just from audio alone. I had no idea this was sucking all my power because I assumed the GPU was for graphics only and not HD audio...
Again, thank you. you saved me so much money and time.
Thank you, my friend!
It fixed all my stuttering problems !!! amazing!
Are you on a desktop pc? And if so- what are your specs?
Thank you so much❤this helped my FPS.
I just disabled it on my 3080 10GB and ran Timespy on 3DMark and it comfortably beat all my old score and finally brought me above the average score for my hardware, instead of being below it since I got my PC. Gonna test it in games later.
I also have NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM), no idea what it is, but I didn't disable it, only disabled NVIDIA High Definition Audio.
From what I could find on Google, this came up:
"NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device will be used if you want to connect your computer with NVIDIA SHIELD module or to another output component with speakers. That is, the driver is necessary for the system to establish a connection with the audio device connected via the HDMI port (connected to the graphics card).
If your computer hasn’t installed the virtual audio component, there will be no audio in the output of the HDMI."
Continued: Whether to uninstall NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM) driver depends on your usage. As mentioned, you need to leave the component alone when connecting your computer via the video card’s HDMI to another device or SHIELD TV. This won’t cause any damage.
If the HDMI of your graphics card is connected to a monitor without speakers and you don’t want it, removing NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device doesn’t make an impact. If the monitor has speakers, you cannot remove it since the audio cannot be transmitted.
Nice tip. Never used audio from videocards, will check if that is affecting me. I always use nvidia reference drivers, never specific to card OEM. Would that prevent this issue?
Dude... get off your ass and test for your own results.
SPdif optical out for a sound bar, I always used ARC in the past, great quality tbf. But now I have mobo mid-tier audio I might as well use it.
Someone who knows what theyre talking about and doesnt just say use ddu and reinstall drivers. Love how you know why the problem is happening in order to fix it.
something so simple... i just did it with my 3090ti and i cant believe i had a boost in performance in benchmarks.... lol what a strange issue. i never noticed it because.. well.. its a 3090ti, and it just kinda powers thru everything as expected. but the benchmark numbers have improved. wild! thanks!
Was there a sound problem when you run heaven for first time? Because I can definitely hear static. If so, is this another symptom of this particular problem?
Holyyyy cow it actually worked... Thank you my good sir.
good tip for people actually having this problem, kinda sad as I tho its something new. keep up the good work!
I'm on Win10 and mine is only showing NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM), Realtek(R) Audio and High Definition Audio Device. My motherboard is Asrock and it uses Realtek which is up to date according to there website. Should I disable the other two?
Holy shit this worked like a charm on Dayz. Thank you.
This actually worked. Im not getting much more frames than before but all the stuttering is gone. Thank you sir!!!!
Thanks for the info
love this tip! do more pls 👍
This is the only video with this type of solution, thank u
Hi, great video, like other. Can y help me with program (which program you used?)to programing ir chips? I have ir35217 on 6800, but it is chip from vega, and i need programing it. Thx for help 😉
you are the GOAT thank god is subscribed!!!!
nice tip. its a uuseless thing anyway if you are using other sound devices so its good practice for those looking to optimize to turn it off even if there is no problem
SO basically if I am using a headset or a Soundsystem that is using the sound device of my keyboard, I do not need the graphics card audio driver at all, right? Wouldn't it be better to deactivate them even if you don't have stuttering or low FPS issues?
Grat channel btw. I subscribed
if sound is clear, dont bother.
Great Tip tony.
Thanks 👍
Would this fix game stuttering too? I get stutter without really a drop in FPS
wow thank you so much it fixed instantly
Is the double fps just in synthetic benchmarks? or programs and games as well?
its sound clarity related. It can be noticeable, it can be hard to notice
I have an astro headset. So do I disable all the audio things there but my headset ones (Astro Voice and Astro Game) and call it a day?
Nice new intro logo! Possibly the audio is competing for PCIe bandwidth?
Nah, bandwidth (especially on these benchmarks) is NOT an issue. Seriously, you can listen music on USB 2.0 and PCI is A LOT more capable than this.
What can be issue, though is IRQ interference and competition onto same level of IRQ. Meaning 2 requests from 2 devices will compete for priority of execution. It was frequent disease long time ago, as there were only 16 levels of IRQ for everything on PC iirc. But now there are A LOT more (at least 512 i think). But i guess such conflicts still can happen?
Many Thanks! It worked
My MSI motherboard comes with 4 different audio cards separate of the GPU so Im definitely trying this lets see if it works
Why is the card not running on a full pcie lane? You need to take your storage nvme out of slot one and move it to slot 2. This 2ill allow your graphics card to run on all lanes.
Your running pcie 16x 1.1???
Wow thank you so much !!!!!!!
what if you have more than one option for the "Sound, video and game controller"? I have "Cirrus Logic High Definition Audio" and "Intel Smart Sound Technology for Bluetooth Audio" and "Intel Smart Sound Technology for USB audio" which one should I switch off?
was playing pubg, my game was stuttering i searched for fix and came across alot of different fix and settings, but this one literally fixed it all, thanks alot and respect
Nice find. I'm not on windows, but I'll see if it helps on linux.
Nice one man!
Also on FE and had issues with nVidia HDMI sound output from my TV, sound was ...well non-existent. Upon reinstalling the driver (custom and not "express") without the HDMI driver, the TV has sound again.......yeyyyyyyy :)
That was few months ago, but on every driver update that came through, I`ve disabled the HDMI - motto, don`t break/fix what`s already working
just wow i didnt know that hdmi audio driver kills the performance very nice
i was so pissed off since i got a new laptop w an fing 4070 in it,this seems to have fixed my problem, thank u alot
How much did it help😂
My laptop used to get 120 fps I downloaded this nvidia driver now it’s down to 30 how do I fix it
I wonder if this will introduce other issues like audio being out of sync with picture?
I`ve tested on mine, and its all ok but thats a nice tip!
For my laptop there’s 2 nvidia sound drivers one is high definition and the other virtual audio device….
Do I disable both
And there’s a few more drivers like aMD and ASUs utility and WH ch400
I have a soundbar that is connected to my TV and the TV is connected to the GPU via HDMI. I use the TV as a monitor and it's how I get audio from the PC. When I disable Nividia High Definition Audio I don't get audio through the soundbar. Is there a work around for this to get audio through my soundbar while that option is disabled in Device Manager?
Can I re enable the GPU sound driver after disabling it? I don't wanna mess things up.
If you disable the sound from the hdmi, does it disable the sound on VR headsets on DisplayPorts?
HDMI is not displayport, so it shouldn't...
You can move signal DisplayPort to HDMI directly, but you must use converter to move signal from HDMI to DisplayPort, as HDMI encodes it differently
The valve index makes use of Nividia HD audio driver
I have a 4090 and i suffer from drops/micro stutter or whatever it called, its really minor but im playing on a 3440x1440 screen so i do notice when it happened, never managed to find a fix for it
Hey there my speaker is attached to my monitor, so does this gonna disable the audio as well? Can I fix it by connect 3.5mm to motherboard? Thanks
bro you are fucking brilliant. I NEVER have nvidia installer do my audio driver, i hate the fact that it's even there, but this seems like a really good way to make SURE it's putting no resources into audio, as it should be. More tips and tricks would be really nice, as well as your SUGGESTIONS for card makes/models - even though I'm sure you probably hate them all hahahah. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I have something called Nvidia Virtual Audio Device (Wave extensible) aswell. Should this be disabled too? (4080 FE)
Oh my god, thank you so much. I've been facing a ton of performance problems with my RX7600 and I think this single setting might've just fixed it. Thanks a ton.
Bro pls help ive upgraded from a gtx 1060 to a rx 6700xt im getting more fps in all game with the RX but a lot of stutering and in some games like forrnite it unplayable but im getting 350 fps
@@peacequest2 I dunno about fortnite, apparently it hates amd gpus so it might be that. But I would recommend capping the fps in adrenaline at around about 144 and see if that helps any
@@peacequest2 install afterburner and rive tuner , youtube knows how
then set a fps cap to your monitor's refresh rate ,
in-game uncapped fps always ,
it's like letting your gpu Think it's giving it's all and then just capping it off to be in the zone , stable and relaxed
no stutter in any game if you do this in the global section off rivatuner...
with some games you can go double fps even if your monitor doesn't handle it ,
fast-vsync in nvidia panel or amd and it just works at double fps somehow
if you have a 144hz , try 288 fps cap , if that doesn't feel right , go 144 , Should feel right
Thank you!!!!!!
Bruh... That happen to me and migrate to Linux and my RIG worked flawlessly, I learn a lot, and I'm having a great time using Linux; don't tell me that this was the culprit, now is too late can't go back to Windows.
Liar.
Like an on line coarse I’ve been watching you and you personally gave me the confidence to open up my thrustmaster power supply that melted a variable resistor I think it a shunt resistors and also a fuse blow it was welded to board I replaced everything and it worked I got confused and sent this originals to your rival because your names are so similar Sry 4 that but it was ment for you I believe you would be a great teacher because you are teaching already but omg what bring to the table I have an a.a.s in E.E.T. And you have better hands on then the schools that. I went to please consider making a hands on lab you don’t need to get into formulas just the experience of what you do believe me people would breaking down your doors to learn from you

Hmm intresting i must admit, i have justed formatted the computer but was having strange issues with my SB Z1 with popping and crackling so i had already disabled all other audio devices including the nVidia then ended up moving the soundcard a slot lower once more so a 120mm is right against it, as it was before which cleared that up i guess 2 slots from the Strix RTX 2080 isn't enough it needs to be 3 slots.
Anyway in Mechwarrior 5 i didn't notice a average or max fps increase but the 0.1% and 1% lows did dramatically improve from minimum 2fps to around 70fps, i thought it maybe because of one MOD i didn't bother installing it, but how it might have been with this. It's very strange i must admit. This driver must be eating up compute cycles or something.
At first i thought it maybe the Ryzen 3900X and it's 4 chiplet design causing the poor 0.1% lows...
I’ve had these issues before switching from Nvidia to AMD. Crazy that a HDMI driver can do this
For me there is another nvidia virtual Sound or something like That do i have to Turn it off ?
Are you able to fix artifacting or is that game over?
thank you
Do I have to do this method if I don't have any fps problem? do I win something?
Love this video, I'd love to be able to do this to my MBP 5500m which throttles harder than Ghostrider. I know, I know, what was I doing spending 2.5k on a MBP when it gets hotter than the sun just trying to power an external monitor.... - I got punk'd.
You thought apple won physics by getting all that stuff in a small chassis and 90w power supply? Every other gaming laptop and serious workstation maker are just stupid? No, you are. The guys at apple won your money, not engineering challenge.
My mbp 2011's graphics card died due to overheating after throttling it's whole life (and giving abysmal performance) and that was with 3rd party software to ramp up the fans to 100%
No matter how i lock the frames, 60, 75 120 or more it will always drop, I'm annoyed af of it.
I have 4 audio devices 2 hd ones do I disable both?
bro thank you so much
NICE! THX! IT'S WORK
good work
My Card gets Vrel message. What caan i do?
Its a 2070 S MSI Trio with Waterblock on it.
My gpu is rx 580 it's stuttering in fps what to do I can't even play simple games like valorant, overwatch because of fps ups and downs and gittering. Any solutions?
This is pretty good got from 61 to 64 fps in Superposition Benchmark.
..Disable HDMI Audio or HD Audi driver may solve the problem,
but the reason this happends is that for some reason the Graphics driver software interrupt
and the HD bus driver interrupt arre on the same physical core and thread...
...this interrupts can be moved to be handled by different cores and threads...
..i wont give any information that can mess upp the os for anyone, but if one wants it can be done, and its the real reason for the dropout in audio/video frames trough HDMI
Does this apply to gaming too? It seems to do nothing when playing Fortnite, I'm still experiencing drops in big cities and the jungle from 144 to 90-100 fps...
Notepad benefits the most. Excel to a lesser extent.
work 100% this nice dude! fix my pubg more fps average and less stutters freezes thanks
i ran userbenchmark and it gave me a worse result with that driver disabled. It was an interesting test tho
How is the gpu so cold even in furmark?, My 5700 gets to 80°c + on furmark on stock settings, even undervolting doesn't help more than 4-5° , I've purchased a 1 year used sapphire pulse rx 5700 oc, should I try to change my thermal paste or something?
It should be one of your main options if the others like drivers (GPU and MOBO) and other hardware CPU and MOBO all seem ok. To not be near a heating object, but those things are obvious and rarely happen. Wrongly inputted paste is more common.
Not sure what else you can do.
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
People seriously overlook driver conflicts (or I guess wouldn't even know to begin looking for such when issues crop up)
Just a random thing I wonder, I see the card is running at PCI-E 1.1 with GPUZ? Does that maybe cause a communication, bandwidth restraint and maybe cause the driver stuttering when it has to worry about calling the audio decoder as well as the video? I honestly have no idea, just was a random thought while watching this video.
This could be the issue yes, I would suggest he re run the test with a PCIE 4.0 board
It does go to 3.0 speeds as he runs heaven benchmark its just using pcie 1.1 for power saving.
@@scrubsodium Nice catch that I didn't see. Great point.
It is ASPM power management to save electricity.
Tbh, it looks like not all cards even support this feature. At least i cannot make it work with my card, no matter how much i try. Not that i need it, but i just wanted to see result.
Ah yeah, maximum power saving mode in Windows brutally affected my wired keyboard, making it extremely slow to react on actions even after quite small periods of idle time. (Like 30 seconds to detect first press). Should've not been that bad in theory, imo, but there is that.
its not loaded. it will switch as needed.
you saved my life bro
