so many times I misplaced something in the house, and instinctively I would relax and give it over to my 'broader perspective self' ....and I find things every time! I don't think about it, just flow with the impulse to go wherever and don't question it. this is amazing

When I have a problem which is difficult to solve, I simply hand over to my subconscious mind and let it go. it works.

I have been working on the conversation with my unconscious mind for decades now. My basic idea is that the unconscious mind has been given the task of keeping us safe and alive. It is a very important task. When I moved to a new job, my commute route was over a winding mountain road at 60 mph. I drove totally afraid. I realized that my unconscious was doing its job to keep me alive by making me fearful, but at a huge cost to my conscious self and body. Finally I made a deal with my unconscious that I, the conscious, would take over the job of driving safely. After a few weeks of safe driving, my fear level diminished to a wariness rather than fear. Every so often, when my conscious mind does something stupid, I apologize to my unconscious mind and avow to do better. This is only one of many tricks I have learned. Take bladder control as I age as an example..... Also, deep-rooted imperatives like sexuality... On and on.,

Wonderful exposition, and a mind-blowing idea of splitting between conscious and unconscious mind, speaking to an unconscious mind using the soft formulations of the conscious mind...As if two sides of ourselves are communicating and getting into balance. It is very inspiring, I will have to try this! My hands have become warmer after listening to your video.

I do this to my ego and it helps. If my ego is kicking up dirt and running a muck I say "thanks ego but please figure out another way to solve this problem, I know you can do it" then it actually gets quiet for a bit and does try.

Hello Mark, thank you very much for your videos. Although I am not a therapist, your videos are a great help for me in my self-therapy from CPTSD. In this video (2:24) you mentioned: "..we still have to take responsibility for what we need to, to change ourselves." In a course of seeing a therapist (not helpful with my problems) I realized that there is rather nothing wrong with me. I became aware that I need to change my perception of me, how I think and feel about myself. Then the desirable changes will follow. I'd like to ask you if you can clarify this matter for me. I will greatly appreciate your opinion about that. Warm regards!

As a therapist this is not for a novice; you must have experience in dealing with different people, moods, and building rapport; this can possibly go wrong if one does not know what their doing

Hello, been watching and appreciating your clips for some year but never commented.
I am not a therapist, just someone who has had therapy for several years with 2-3 people.
I find your advice incredibly useful. I am quite sure the fact that you are not addressing the patient themselves is a major help.
I can use your advice to then act as my own therapist.
I can look at myself a bit more dispassionately and help myself, as if I was 2 people.
It is on a way s similar process you just explained, of the conscious mind talking to the unconscious one.
Do you have any thoughts on this.
Think you have many clients/patients following you here, for that very same reason.
I also work in a sort of emotional work capacity, when advising patients who have just been diagnosed with cancer, and are under shock, struggling to process the news.
Been doing that 15 years and keep receiving positive feedback.
So am doing something right 🙂
As an aside, I also find you extremely soothing, reassuring and easy to follow.
The pace and delivery are just wonderful.
Please keep up your fantastic work.
    Thank you so much!
