How to Teach Viticulture

Wherein I (Jamey) share how I teach Viticulture to new viticulturalists. This method can also be used to demo the game if players only have a few minutes to learn the general feel of the game.

I sooooo much love that game❤ I love the artwork, I love that it is (quite) “selfexplaining” and I love that it is so satisfying when you’ve completed a vine order 😊 I have got the feeling that the base game is really enough. I have bought the two card expansions “in vino veritas” and “visitors from the Rhinevalley” (that’s what they are called in Germany) and they add nicely to the game, but I ´ve watched videos about the Tuscany Expansion, and I really think the base game is enough (for me). Viticulture kicked Wingspan from the No 1 place of my all time favourites 😮😂

Just bought a new copy (after having it on my list for many years, and played a friend's copy many times). Was looking for a rule's refresh when this video popped into my feed. Perfect video as I'm teaching a new group tonight. One of my all time favorites!!

Just taught this multippe time for my bday party (same weekend as the gamers ranch 😭). I explained that the grande worker was you, and the two other workers are your momma and pappa, since it is your vineyard you are willing to go where others are too 😂. Seemed to click very well 🎉 would love Tuscany but focusing on scythe acquisitions now (expansions, extras, and expeditions 🤞).

Thank you! I will be playing this soon with company. I like teaching an overview and then expanding more on rules as they play since some people cannot absorb too many rules without seeing them. Make sense to me. Thanks!

I have played dozens of games of Viticulture. I am horrible at it, but every time I lose, instead of feeling discouraged, I feel excited at what I can try next time. Amazing game! I have taught it to a friend, and her first game is the only game that I have ever won and it was still barely. I need your expert advice.❤😂😂
