How do we know he abused his riches? That's between Pat and God. The testimonials of God's intervention in crises that people have undergone are very likely reenacted, and sometimes bias things to airings of the 700 Club, which are dubious.
Nobody's perfect, and that includes Pat. We thank him for all the good he has done.

When I was 13 years old a gave Pat Robertson my grandmother's inheritance of $3,000.00 that was meant from my college education plus her diamond wedding ring. My pastor, who worked at his radio station (WXRI) took me to see Pat where I personally handed him the check. I thought he would be pleased but he acted strangely uncomfortable accepting that much money from a child. But he took it anyway. I was then invited to watch his 700 Club. He pranced out on the stage waving my check, claiming it was the EXACT amount he had been asking for. It wasn't. He had earlier announced that week he needed $2,500 to replace some radio equipment and that's why I said I was giving him the money. I turned around to see if anyone else knew he was lying, but everyone was waving their hands and praising Jesus. That, for me, was the beginning of questioning my ultra-conservative Southern Baptist upbringing and a few years latter, my total escape from it. So thank you, Pat.
It would be memorable if Pat ever taught people about God's Kingdom like Jesus did.

Watching Pat Robinson and the 700 Club on T.V. was my first experience with evangelicalism. It was warm and fuzzy, until they began to dig deeply into politics. Turning away from God's program to their own was a mistake. They've become more cult like than Christ like. Pat, obviously stayed too long.

I know media gets a lot of bad reviews but, as an older person, I can assure you that media would have never described Pat Robertson this way in the past. It would be "if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all." I prefer this way as it's more reflective of majority thinking.

My late father-in-law, Lenny, was manager of Sy Devore, a upscale, trendy men's clothing store in LA. Robertson used to send his private plane to the Van Nuys/Burbank airport, to pick up Lenny, Sam the tailor, and a selection of fancy suits and accessories, to fly them to Robertson's home, were he chose the suits he wanted, and Sam altered them. This was very expensive, the sort of treatment usually only given to wealthy movie stars.

What does the 700 in "700 club," stand for? "Pat Robertson, CBN’s founder, told his viewers that a “club” of 700 contributors, each giving $10 a month, would allow CBN to meet its expenses." Yeah it's about $$$

Repent and trust the gospel or perish. You won't get to heaven by your own good works or budah or Muhammad or by new age or anything else. It's only by having faith in the blood of Christ for the forgiveness all your sins. He died for you. He loves you.
