    I'm absolutely proud to share the same ethnicity with Nadia. Yeah, the 'right' kind of skin can give you privileges in an ignorant society, but if you have the right kind of brain, nothing can stop you.

      I can't be the only one who thinks it wasn't racist to say that. Sure, it's a bit direct. But.. look at it as a company. If you know for a fact that brown hands sell less jewelry because the majority of the target demo are whites... Then, it's just a statistical observation. It's not racism.

    Seriously! I went to Senegal back in 17, we are a group of friends from Asia, Europe, Africa and America, basically as diverse as it gets skin colors wise. We all bought those handmade silver bracelets in Dakar, and while they look alright on me (im Chinese and it was actually a gift for my mom) and my white friends, it looked absolutely stunning on my black friends, especially my congolaise friend who was the darkest of us all. Silver looks amazing on dark skin.

  • @Nightbird.
    @Nightbird. Před 2 lety +9

    *As a person of color..I'll be the elephant in the room and say this doesn't surprise me at all when people in my own community are secretly bleaching their skin. When many (but not all) dark skinned women are shown pictures of dark or light skinned models..they tend to say the lighter skinned ones are prettier. When dark skinned straight men (but not all) are given a dating choice..they are notorious for passing up dark skinned women for the lighter skinned ones. And when skin lightening creams..from expensive Shiseido to cheap Ponds..are the number one selling skin creams in Asia and Africa. Our community needs to look in the mirror and fix ourselves before we ask others to treat us equally. Stop saying "Dark Is Beautiful" while secretly slathering on skin lightening cream that has made you 5 shades lighter than last year. And NO..most people don't have vitiligo..lol.* 🤨🙄
