There have been many arguments about Pokemon, there have been claims that they support Hitler or something, the lavender town theme was one of them I believe it was the reason they took down the original red version and made fire red.(but I don't know my sh*t)
The main problem I have with pokemon creepypasta is much of it mentions "Lavender Town Syndrome." The high frequencies in the Lavender Town music can only be heard by kids ages 7-12 or so. This music does not kill people directly (how could it?), but it actually can cause kids to commit suicide, usually from hanging. This creepypasta is not a lie, and I thought it was until I actually saw severe cases of what this music can actually do to your ears and your brain. Some of the mild cases involve headaches and general problems with ears, but major cases can cause severe violence in a kids mind, which can lead to suicide. This was fixed very, very early on, and searching "Lavender Town Creepy Music" on youtube is not the way to find the real music. This problem was fixed in mid 1996 or so, and the music that caused kids to commit suicide actually happened in very early 1996, mostly when they let kids test the beta version of the game. If you somehow played the game in Japanese in early 1996, if you are over the age of 12 you basically can't hear the frequencies that caused suicide, so it doesn't matter much at that age. Not all kids of that age got headaches or worse either, but 200 deaths is much more then huge natural disasters like the recent hurricanes in North America, which caused less then 30 deaths. This is one of the few creepy pastas that you can actually believe, and I doubt you could find the music in 2017.

Think of it as the audio version of what happened with the Porygon episode only with migraines instead of seizures. Unlike the episode though they only had to alter the pitch of the music slightly and the problem seemed to be fixed. It basically worked out that way due to how much more sensitive young children's hearing can be normally compared to say a teenager or young adult. Like those devices shop owners buy sometimes that sound like mosquitoes to keep groups of young people from hanging around too long. I figure this is probably the case because I have this odd situation where I can just about still hear those devices despite being over the age that they are supposed to affect me. And if I listen too the Lavender town music (original version) myself for too long I still get a mild headache even now. Nothing huge though.

The main problem I have with pokemon creepypasta is much of it mentions "Lavender Town Syndrome." The high frequencies in the Lavender Town music can only be heard by kids ages 7-12 or so. This music does not kill people directly (how could it?), but it actually can cause kids to commit suicide, usually from hanging. This creepypasta is not a lie, and I thought it was until I actually saw severe cases of what this music can actually do to your ears and your brain. Some of the mild cases involve headaches and general problems with ears, but major cases can cause severe violence in a kids mind, which can lead to suicide. This was fixed very, very early on, and searching "Lavender Town Creepy Music" on youtube is not the way to find the real music. This problem was fixed in mid 1996 or so, and the music that caused kids to commit suicide actually happened in very early 1996, mostly when they let kids test the beta version of the game. If you somehow played the game in Japanese in early 1996, if you are over the age of 12 you basically can't hear the frequencies that caused suicide, so it doesn't matter much at that age. Not all kids of that age got headaches or worse either, but 200 deaths is much more then huge natural disasters like the recent hurricanes in North America, which caused less then 30 deaths. This is one of the few creepy pastas that you can actually believe, and I doubt you could find the music in 2017.

Think of it as the audio version of what happened with the Porygon episode only with migraines instead of seizures. Unlike the episode though they only had to alter the pitch of the music slightly and the problem seemed to be fixed. It basically worked out that way due to how much more sensitive young children's hearing can be normally compared to say a teenager or young adult. Like those devices shop owners buy sometimes that sound like mosquitoes to keep groups of young people from hanging around too long.
I figure this is probably the case because I have this odd situation where I can just about still hear those devices despite being over the age that they are supposed to affect me. And if I listen too the Lavender town music (original version) myself for too long I still get a mild headache even now. Nothing huge though.
