No matter how much we beg, plead, or sign petitions -- Gravity Falls is not coming back. Sure the graphic novels and pages and pages of fan fiction are great to read -- but we’re digging for some true content on the show beyond the epic two seasons we already got to enjoy.
So we dug -- and we found some great deleted content from episodes, storyboard artists, and some official Gravity Falls releases. Get ready to dig a little deeper into the mystery behind the Mystery Shack. After seeing these deleted scenes, it may be time to start writing Journal number 4! The finale of Gravity Falls was so epic, they spread it across three parts and really went all out in their design and execution. For Weirdmageddon Part 1, one of the collectest scenes was definitely when Dipper and Wendy fly through the Wendy fly through various weirdness bubbles which transforms them inside. For a show that takes place during a single summer, the writers had to get really creative when introducing various holidays. So when the time for a Halloween episode came around, they simply created “Summerween” and the rest was history. In the episode, there’s a quick shot of a flyer for a Summerween flyer. You may notice the flyer itself features the line “NOT S&P Approved”. Along with the cut unicorn fight we saw earlier, The Last Mabelcorn featured another great deleted sequence that would have added a ton of laughs and great moments in the episode. Mabel thinks she needs a pure heart to earn some unicorn fur, so she decides to do a ton of good deeds to help her cause.

As far as I understand it, Gravity Falls *didn't* end. It just stopped being a TV Show, and instead changed to be an ongoing series of scavenger hunts and mysteries.

In a way, yes. There is a season 3. Dipper and Mabel aren't the main characters anymore. Instead we, the fans, are. Alex Hirsch continuing the show with scavenger hunts, like the Bill Cipher statue, and other things he releases in merch and media. He's giving us more of the story, more of Gravity Falls, just in a different way than usual.
When people look back on this show twenty or so years from now, when they go to see Gravity Falls, children who weren't even born yet, that experience won't end with the Season 2 finale. After the finale, they'll jump into the secret codes, they'll stumble upon the Bill Cipher hunt just as we did. They'll see videos of people picking apart the show, and digging up the mysteries, and that's the true Gravity Falls Season 3.

I think the reason Alex Hirsch made it so clear that Gravity Falls won't be continued through anything like shorts, movies, or spin-offs was to really make the viewer feel the same way as Dipper and Mabel during the ending, "Summer is over, it's all over, it's time to go home." They really wanted to audience to know that this "summer" is over and won't be the same as any other.
And I understand Mabel and Dipper go to Gravity Falls every summer anyways and will just return the next year but nothing will ever top this first summer. This is making me cry haha, I miss Gravity Falls.

@@hamidrahman8457 this is something ive wondered for a long time. In the introduction they mention Dipper and Mabel going there as a one time thing (or at least its implied), and that checks out with the whole boat trip stanford and stanley planned. Yet, in the letter Wendy gives Dipper when they're about to get on the bus, it says "See you next summer". One possibility is that everyone who signed the letter was unaware of the trip, but I think both Stans sign it (although maybe they were playing along). That, or Ford planned the trip and it wasn't gonna take too long, but again, it's kinda implied that the trip will take an indefinite amount of time

I've seen this show more than once and I am always flabbergasted on how this even showed up on a Disney channel.

IN one of the pages, In the backround, I saw Journal number 4.
AND! One of the pages had a secret code, which I decoded, and it said, "Bill lives."
In the end Shmebulock was begging for a season three.
