  • Taking the Triumph Bonneville T120 for a ride through the Trough of Bowland.
Finally the near constant rain stopped so I took my chance and headed off to a route I've heard much about from other bikers. The Trough of Bowland is a pass through the Forest of Bowland conservation area, running from Clitheroe to Lancaster. Snaking its way over desolate moorland and through small woods, the trough is a great ride for any motorcyclist, combining scenic views with twisty roads that are fun to ride without being dangerous.
When I reached Lancaster, I decided to ride up to the west side of Lake Windermere, take the ferry across to Windermere itself and then finally loop around through the Forest of Bowland back to Clitheroe.
I had intended to film a proper beginning and end to this video, but a nail in my rear tyre ended the day early, so this video is more of a riders view of the route and what you can expect if you decide to visit the Forest area yourself.
As always, I've got some blurb below if you're interested in any of the gear I use. And if you've read this far, perhaps consider giving my video a like and maybe even subscribing to the channel.

Hi Stuart, sorry I didn’t see your comment as it’d been held for review (who knows why!?).
The light and engine bars where just off eBay. I think the spotlight is from a Harley, but there’s no markings on it so can’t be sure. And the bars are just a cheaper alternative to Triumph’s fairly expensive dresser bars, don’t think they do much in a drop but they do provide a good place to hang lights/cameras from.

A lot of the custom parts are from Motone Customs so it’s worth checking out their website if you want to upgrade your bike a bit. Some of the other parts I’ve changed are Hagon rear shocks, Tec adjustable front springs, added cruise control, Cotswold Hipster panniers, K&N air filter, Booster plug, Vance & Hines pipes. There’s loads you can do to these bikes, but a few new shiny parts from Motone is a great place to start!
