Riding a Triumph Bonneville T120 around the North Coast 500 - Moto Camp Day 2.

  • Starting from my campsite at Sango Bay, I rode my Triumph Bonneville T120 down the West Coast of Scotland following the NC500 route, making a brief detour inland to ride some wonderfully deserted roads.
    It was a long day, with lots of miles to be covered before my overnight stay on the Isle of Skye. But the Bonneville T120 ate up the miles with such ease it quickly became one of the best days of riding I've experienced yet. I don't have words to describe how good some of the roads are, if you get the chance, you really must ride the West Highlands on a motorcycle, it's the stuff of living.

    Recently found your channel & subscribed. Fantastic videos & editing. Just wanted to ask about your T120 with regards the wheels, are you running tubed or tubeless conversion? I'm keen to do many long trips including the NC500 on my newly acquired T100 but the thought of such trips on tubed wheels is putting me off slightly.

    • @ClassicRides
      @ClassicRides  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hi Mike, glad you’re enjoying the videos. I’m running just the standard wheels and tubes, I’m not sure I 100% trust those ‘masking tape’ inside the wheel conversions 😁. Getting a puncture is a big worry to be fair, I had three last summer and I found that getting hold of tubes is what caused the biggest delay, so I carry one with me on longer trips now. Coupled with that I have AA assist where they’ll take me anywhere I want, so if I can find a Triumph dealership nearby I’ll go for that and beg for them to replace my tube there & then.
      Otherwise I’m just careful when filtering in the dirty parts of the road as that’s where I got all my punctures from.

      @@ronniebornman4122 no I don’t have any videos like that I’m afraid. Personally I think the tent’s great. It doesn’t pack down so small but I’m happy to trade that off against not having to mess about with poles erecting a tent after a day’s ride. I’ve got the blackout version too, which is brilliant in my opinion.

      @@ClassicRides thanks I’ll definitely consider it. I’m on a GS so technically should have more packing space and the setup does seem quite convenient for sure.
      Ride safe and keep well 👍🏼
