    I remember feeling sleep deprived overwhelmed, emotionally drained and overall not myself with my daughter. When I identified my limit has been reached and no one was there to help me, I put her in her crib, went into the other room and put headphones with calming music on. In about 10 minutes I regained my composure and came back to her. I think it was the right thing to do and I didn't do this every day

      Tch, no one would blame you if you did this everyday as long as you left the baby in a safe area away from the window blinds, you're good. Those who judge you for that don't know any better.

      When you're exhausted and caring for your baby alone and they are being very fussy, feeling frustration is normal and doesnt make you a bad parent.
      You did exactly the right thing that a responsible parent does. You made sure the baby was in a safe place, and went into the other room for 10 minutes to calm down and become composed.

So when youre very tired and youre the only mother the sounds of the crying isnt cute 😂. Im glad my son almost never cried.. but when he did i really didnt think it was cute.. its sad when they cry..i dont understand how you could find that cute.😅

    This is super Important to know. We watched a video before leaving the hospital about purple crying that includes tips to prevent shaking a baby. Our daughter was a difficult baby. Especially in the beginning with colic. Several times in the beginning when I was on leave and my husband was at work during the evening I would have to put her in a safe place and just go out on the balcony for a few deep breaths. Many people don’t realize how hard it is when you’re lacking sleep and your baby is crying nonstop for hours without being able to console them. That lasted 6 weeks and I did that alone starting around 5-6 until my husband got home around 10. We alway tell our friends that you do what you need to do to survive those 1st 6 weeks because it was rough.

    Why the government doesn’t have TV spots like this I’ll never understand. Young parents often have no clue that shaking will hurt a baby. They might get frustrated and think shaking is better than hitting a child and so they think they’re not really abusing the baby. This should definitely be something that EVERY new parent is taught before they leave the hospital. It could save a life or prevent the ruining of a child’s life. Very young parents usually have no way of knowing that shaking could harm a baby!

      the worst stories are the ones where the dad shakes the baby, these mothers trusted their husbands and boyfriends and they STILL do it. you can only really trust yourself sadly, that being said i'm sure your husband is just as protective of your child as you, im glad youre both patient parents and can give each other a break.. i just wanted to point out that even stay at home moms trust the dad and the dad hurts the child ): i feel like theres probably warning signs that they miss in the moment though

    thank you for making this, i had no idea this was a thing, we watched this in high school during a child development class, i cried when i saw this and cried even more when they brought in the shaken infant simulator, a life size baby doll with a clear plastic head and a visible brain, when you turned the simulator on it would cry until you shake it hard enough that it kills the simulator. i could not shake the simulator, i could not do it i just held it and cried knowing how many little lives had to die to make this simulator a thing

    I thank God for having healthy babies and an involved wife. I’ve never gotten so frustrated to the point that I couldn’t control my own actions, but I can see parents with sick children or intellectually deficient children getting extremely frustrated. But how could a parent choose to shake or harm a child instead of walking away? I just don’t think there is any reason why or how this can happen.

    • @AriMon05
      @AriMon05 Před rokem +1

      I think in those cases it reached the point where parents couldn't control themselves. I don't have kids but I have experienced watching friend's baby cry for about 4 hours literally non-stop. The way your head stops working... There's a not stopping noise which is so loud that you can't hear your own thoughts, you slept only 5 hours and are already tired, and you don't think you can just leave the baby because it somehow considered bad even if it's only 10 mins. So yeah, I can imagine what a parent feels when that happens.
      It's just terrible. I hope that this video still helps new parents to overcome that problem. And if I will ever want to have kids, I'll re-watch all these videos about different syndromes

    • @Ke1ko7
      @Ke1ko7 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Don’t get me wrong it’s inexcusable, but also completely understandable how it can get to that point. A lot of the time sleepless nights, post partum depression, relationships problems and just having to take care of a baby all alone, can all lead to one fatal decision where you shake your baby in the heat of the moment not thinking of the consequences.
      And a lot of parents and caregivers, actually do not know shaken baby syndrome exists and is extremely dangerous. Like most people know you shouldn’t shake a baby but a lot don’t realise that even just shaking them can result in death

    I want to know what happened to the demons who did this to these innocent defenceless babies. You lost your temper, you were tired and the baby just wouldn’t stop crying, it was only a few seconds, you didn’t think it would hurt them…yeah, use any excuse. I have sympathy for any parent/caregiver who is overwhelmed, and I’d never shame someone for asking for help or admitting they have the urge to harm their child. That is a brave and selfless thing to do, admitting that you need help for your child’s safety. But people who actually take their anger and frustration out on the baby instead, killing them or causing them so much brain damage that they never have a normal life…even a life sentence in prison doesn’t make up for the life they stole, and so many times the abusers get away with it anyway. Unforgivable

      @@SuperiorAmericanGuy Are you seriously this stupid. You have to violently shake or throw a baby or infant across a room to give it this much head trauma. In order for head trauma to the point of it being fatal to a baby or an infant it has to be severe and violent. You don’t give a baby shaken baby syndrome from lightly bouncing a baby on your leg or lightly rocking the baby. Do your research. But for the safety of babies maybe you shouldn’t be around any babies or toddlers.
