- In this video, Jackson builds up and reviews the MASH SF “Slumworm” frame, which is Matt Reyes’ signature fixed gear frameset. The MASH SF frame features a durable build and is meant to handle the abuse of fixie trick riding, but also be comfortable for all-day rides or even some tracklocross. @mikorp and @mattslumwormreyes are some of the most well-known names in the fixed gear community. This frame delivers a high-quality ride with well-executed features that will have you bunny hopping and doing wheelies like Matt Reyes.
Jackson purchased the frame in 2022; he shows you the unboxing, frame details, geometry, and builds up the frame, offering helpful tips for anyone looking to build a fixed gear bike for tricks.
Jackson takes you through each step of the process, from installing the frame and fork to assembling the wheels and drivetrain. Jackson offers helpful tips on choosing the right components and tools to make your build as smooth and efficient as possible. Whether you're an experienced fixed gear rider or just starting out, this video is a must-watch for anyone looking to build their own custom trick bike.
Lastly Jackson does a long-term review, sharing some of the best features of the frame, and some limitations. He compares the bike to other fixie bikes like the Courttek by Master Bike Co and the Squid So-EZ. The frame is well suited for any rider who is interested in leveling up their riding skills and is looking for a fixed gear that is durable and features wide tire clearance.

Mash makes some really good looking, super functional frames. Love what you did here.
Thank you very much! So cool to see how they've transformed and what they put out.
Awsome review good points🙏.
That is what I learned the foot “overlap”; when I realized what frame geometry was I understood.
Good thing I held off or I couldn’t get the frame I wanted. Thus I found the light at the end of the tunnel.
Omen Destroy..made in the USA portlandia😊. In the mist of getting this frame.
Thank you for this detail review Jackson💜🙌
this is my favourite channel and the main reason I'm still riding fixed
Thats incredible to hear! Don't stop!
I miss him too ❤
Legendary
Solid review. I love barspin tricks so the toe overlap for me was a real bummer but love the geo for everything else. Such a fun bike to ride and looks super cool. I still ride mine a ton even though I have a Courttek.
Thanks for watching Chris! Which size are you on? I love your Courttek setup with the purple profiles!
Np dude! Love all the stuff you post. My Mash is a Small/51cm. I do be loving purple components so thank you!@@FOADGang
I like Mash!!!!!!!!!
They're p cool imo too!
great video. the mash defo is tracklocross ready and since it has the 120mm spacing it is more easy to get into. In retrospect I wish I would have gotten this over a squid ngl
Thank you for the kind words! Yes, the So-EZ is great, but the Squid's spacing makes it a little more difficult to pair with a wheelset. I really like being able to swap between builds with standard 120mm
another great video, thank you! Random question, how bad of an idea might it be to run a mullet set up on a fgfs bike (that I run single speed cause i'm 41 years old). I'd be doing 45mm 700c in the front and 50mm 650b in the back, with less aggressive tread. Juuuust wondering.
I'd love to see this compared to the Milwaukee bruiser cause the geo looks pretty similar and it's what I ride 😅
That is a cool bike! Remember wanting one of those back in the day.
I just wanna see Jackson drop things
Same
lol no drops in this one.
👌👌👌💪💪💪✌ кайф!
Is this frame the same geometry as the mash “steel frames” on their website?
How tall are you? I’m interested in getting a 52cm bike from se says it’s a medium but am almost 6ft tall worried I’m too big but I plan on mainly using for tricks not long rides would this be worth it?
I hope more courtteks drop soon smh
Crazy how quick they sold out the first time.
How does this frame compare to squids for tracklocross?
The Squid So-EZ is a little more stable - which can be helpful for rough terrain. It has a longer wheelbase and slacker headtube, which can help smooth things out. The Slumworm frame is more nimble, but that can also be considered jittery, depending upon the terrain.
I’m riding a disparer atm, do you still ride yours much?:)
Not much anymore! Doing a tire review video and using this bike as the setup! I'm a little scared about how much I've abused the fork. Still a really cool bike.
what are those bash guards?
Custom made from an old chain ring. A few more details on it in this video: czcams.com/video/7Ks0um1H87Q/video.htmlsi=ncK2A4DDvk07Bj7a
@@FOADGang ohhh i see i've been looking for one, because i'm so sick of ripping my pants
I have a Brixton Cycles frame, do you know if it’s a racing frame or ? I bought it used
Hi
Hello!
why u bacon the tire are you running tubless
I was! No longer running tubeless, unfortunately.
hey foad gang, i got a question is it okay to have a rear wheel that has 20 spokes on a fixed gear?
20 spokes are perfect - if you want the wheel to fold in half on you.
@@davidpalk5010had me in the first half 💀
@@leanlobster69 So much BS in the bike world. Why would anyone want flimsy crap on a street bike? 36H for the win!
Id be interested to see the Mash frame vs the Volume Thrasher. On paper they actually seem kinda similar
🤨 I love the idea!
