I love this track. Really strong melody in the chorus and the groove is fantastic throughout. The virtual instruments do leave something to be desired as usual but could also be MUCH worse. Hearing this with some real performance would be amazing, perhaps it will happen one day in some shape or form.
The opening reminds me of the ethereal sounds of Determination to Fight, Koguchi's deep love for Sky the 3rd, the OST that made him want to work for Falcom, is clear.
Honestly, my favourite non-Unisuga standard battle theme in the series. The drums, bass, melody, everything is just a straight upgrade from Kuro 1's battle theme. Thanks Koguchi 👑👑👑
the second phrase coming in at 0:29 is a variation from the first battle theme. It inevitably takes you to that phrasing. I love the connection and use of variations on a theme to provide some sort of through-line musically.
Wow this is...significantly better than Kuro 1's battle theme, and I don't even think it was that bad or anything, but this is such a huge improvement and from the same composer no less it's just...wow. ♥

Kinda reminds me of the combat music you'd hear in something like Melty Blood or Under Night in Birth
