Watching this traditional way to make poi is fascinating. There’s beauty in the tools that are used, and in the sharing of the work to make it. Finally there’s the sharing of it among families. Some day I hope to watch this in person, and taste the poi when it’s ready.
First time i tried Poi was in 1988 in Waimanalo, the poi was on the tables and so was some one ton chips, well I took a chip and dipped it, after the Aunties had a laugh and I had a new food to eat, seams like 2018 might be the year to try and make, Found the root in North Carolina at a Farmers Market, Its not of a purple hue, more white/beige So I guess there are many varieties of Taro, well time to start pounding
when you are punding the poi before you added the water to make it runny its kinda like dough .can i eat it like that or does it have to be thinned with water
how do I join the cause. I'm from America but disagree with all of the american values and traditions. the life style is calling to me through meditation and I can't shake it.
