I've fueled many Cat tractors as a fuel truck driver in Oregon, never noticed a tractor like this one with a V-8. Looks like it belongs there--but never saw another. The Cat 660 machine was a V-8, sure was powerful too.
our made me go back time as a child where I lived had water treatment station had to be hiked because city grew heavy machines were to clear and make land planing in place I saw them work with the machines hitherto today I like working sails
Super cool. Makes u appreciate modern technology and cabs with air conditioning. Lol .The guy on the blade would have ate some serious dust. Silica lung for sure.
The CAT 977 track loader with a Petersen demo-bucket was my preferred equipment for demolition, but, that was before the excavators. Now, the excavators are the preferred equipment for all types of work applications. Back-blading was a no-no to my uncle who taught me the different techniques on dozing, he said, it's a waste of time & energy. But, like he used to say, "to each his own" if it works then okay, but if it doesn't,....Oh well fuck-it! '
thats a proper site everyone working, no hse knobheads telling you you cant do this or that, im all for safety but its mostly common sense, for every operator these days there is about ten hse personal stopping him from getting the work done.
I hate too be this guy but who back blades especially in a tall gear, any body that's rebuilt final drives knows the agony of not being able too "side for side" gears because of a backblader. I'm sure its his machine though and he can damnwell do what he likes with it to be fair. rant over, great bid as usual
Love that old 977, brings back a lot of memories
A skilled operator nicely works a big machine. CAT is a wonderful bulldozer and it is wonderful. Thank you from Japan.
Excellent vid of classic CAT machines!!! Thanks for sharing, cheers.

Tratores clássicos da Caterpillar
nice old scraper!!!
perfect 5\5!!!!!!!!!!
The V8 D8 would have been great to have on wet ground when the scraper was hard to pull
There's nothing like the high low steering of the IH
somebody should tell him ! if they wanted to drag that blade backwards they would have put on the back !!! ROOKIES
If the 9 just had a straight pipe like the 77.

how do i get a invite to this?would love to be there
What was the first one with the v8
Are these " little people " on that Cat at 1:17 or are those Cat D8 , D9's that big....answer they're that big!
Agree with all critical comments, also bystanders are not standing in the most sensible positions if anything slips/changes direction !
omg they are wearing the dirt out
back dragging with the weight of the blade just on the material just to tidy the top is ok not piles of material like that
Mighty cat D353
arghhhh! to see that guy back-dragging on the D9 is agony ... f**king up the hydraulic stanchions...what a dope...
it's missing an roller.
Nossa cadê o abafador??
Que pais es ese parece rusia o la union sovietica fuerte maquinaria .clasica
Back bladeing isn't aloud
I was taught a dozer was to " push" not backdrag any body can backdrag.
