Riding Sketchy Lines with Phil at the Megacavern

- Today, Skills with Phil and I visit the Louisville Mega Cavern in Kentucky, a 3 million square foot facility built inside of a manmade cavern. Within this cavern is a 320,000 bike park with jump lines, singletrack, and everything you could ask for!
To my eye, the jumps are more BMX centric, while the singletrack is clearly XC. Trail bikes are sort of out of place at the Mega Cavern. This may have been why Phil and I had so much fun.
If you're a good jumper you can ride everything here on a full suspension trail bike, but hardtails and dirt jumpers are really what shine here.

Seth's Bike Hacks âTo...heal...â lol.
Love that.
Truly, biking is one of the most healing experiences in my life, and I paid for therapy!
What else reminds us of the first taste of freedom from the parental rules and regulations.
And as adults, we need it more than ever, because there are even more rules and regulations that suck about adult life.
Seth's Bike Hacks hey what's up Seth, love your videos... Just wondering what kind of camera you were recording with. There's a part of the video that you see someone holding it, looks like a Sony.
Seth's Bike Hacks I
Hey Seth I love your videos , I need to fix three flat bmx tires but the rubber cement will not work with the cut up tube patches, can you find any other cheap ways to fix bike tires
Seth's Bike Hacks I went there a year ago and did the zip lines. The are as long a football fields and they are 90 feet in the air I loved it but wasnât able to ride the bikes because of time.
I ride in Walmart when itâs raining. You donât even need to pay for rental.
Yas they will just think itâs fine bike if you break it
Yeah but u don't have a lot of space
ENDLESS FEATURES
Yup lol
In the winter I'll also ride Downhill Domination for the PS2.
Weather is bad...
Seth: To the bike cave!
This is such an underrated comment
To the Seth cavern (like the ether copter from family guy)
To hardtail
Great pic Zatter, reminds me of my lil panther
8:02
If area 5 has this good of a bike park I wonder how good the one in area 51 is...
then you have to wait until 20 september
YOUCEF DZ lol
YOUCEF DZ nope nothing
@@youcefdz5598 this didn't age well lol
Anyone else fell like it sounded creepy when he said âwelcome to the dirt kevinâ as if he was welcoming him to his grave đ
I think basically he was...
More like star wars welcoming him to the dark side
With how Kevin rides he probably was
Corn children style
Electrify Official Channel Or a cult
2:09 he left that guy inđ the white hangin'
This is so sad
OOH NOOOOOOOO
Phil seems like that one friend that is really down to earth and capable who has a really mysterious/unknown background, but they have so many tricks and cool storyâs lol đ good on ya Phil and Seth keep it up awesome content.
Yeah, he's a former pro rider. Crazy man
"Where do you ride when the weather isn't cooperating?" lol, I'm from Portland. We don't care we ride any way.
Going back and seeing mega cavern videos deeply sadden me. RIP my friend. I never rode you but you were amazing.
Keep up with the great videos and living the dream.
When Seth says, "Oh yeah, I'm in for that!" You know he's about to crash.
Seth, your voice have the same effects as Bob Ross
+Fangyao Huang đš
or Warren Miller...
2 years late but yeah frl I watch his vids just for the voice sometimes. Calming asf
Timoteo summed it up perfect
Timoteo but warren miller has more of that old man story telling voice
I've lived 50 minutes from this place my whole life (23 years) and never knew it had a dirt park lol. I have a BMX bike and a road bike though. Guess I might try taking the BMX bike there?
Too bad they shut down the jumps. It was a decent place to go. They are supposed to reopen it, but without the jumps. Not sure what that will really be then.
Why no more jumps? They were epic
@@mojaverc1585 I donât know if youâll ever see this but they close it for really dumb reasons.
They said they wanted it to be more family friendly and less intimidating, basically marketing to kids and there parents but the place still aint open and it been like two years so who knows.
@@aohitsaguyqwhonameaintjoe5046 thats dumb, people should just go to a playground if they want something family friendly. Its like when parents take their kids to a skatepark because they they think its a playground. Its so frustrating. Or when people, horses and kids walk over my jumps and over trail features, I took the time to make a walking trail so just use it agghh
I've always wanted to go there! Looks like you could keep up your speed pretty well, which is what I was curious about. Glad Phil got some quality time on his bike :D Cheers guys!
The Loam Ranger you should make a video there
I I live close there
The Loam Ranger u are one of the best casual riders that I know of
Phil is a machine.
phil+the machine
It's always good to have a rider like Phil in a group. He teaches and make others go beyond their limits when riding; hitting that next level of EPICNESS !!
Quote of the year âThat wasnât not smoothâ!
Awesome to see Kevin riding with you guys again!
Max McCullagh it was real!
Phil makes everything look sooooooooo easy! He is so good!
I found you through Phil's channel. I have to say you are both an inspiration and very talented! Thank you so much for your uploads and "skills"!... I'm just getting serious about riding. I've owned a couple decent mtb's in the past, but after watching the talent of you and Phil, just bought a gt pantera elite. Not the greatest, but definitely and upgrade from my cannondale trail... And I love the plus tires. So I just want to thank you for your contribution and inspiration in my life. Thank you, Jon
The cavern zip lines were so incredibly amazing!! Would recommend!!!
Had an awesome time riding with you guys the other day. Hope you liked the caverns!
oh man, looked like you fellas had a good time. wish i could've made the trip. next time!

:)
4:55 I thought he was still runningđ
Lol the dude is a speed demon.
I dont ride MTB or any kind of stuff like that but Phil sounds like the guy who is entering 90 Km/H corners with 140 Km/H, gets his knee on the ground and comes out healty and not sticking to any tree. You guys have my respect.
Rays MTB park when itâs winter. I fortunately live 10 min from it. A lot of Cleveland mountain bikers 2nd bike is a dirt jumper because of this place.
Seth needs to go to Ray's!! I live 3 hours from Ray's and go there every couple weeks to ride.
3:30
Why's this thing not focusing LOL I love it
Kevin CLEARLY rode some BMX in his past. Bike control is WAY too good for a roadie on his second ride. I think I recall Alex saying you two used to ride BMX together even before you did some road riding together. If he never rode BMX, then at that progression rate, he'll take down Gwin in about 2 years. :-)
Also, glad to see Phil is human and a little rusty from the month layoff....oh who am I kidding? No footed can-can?? Realy?
That SOB always looks like he's on point and just flat out fun to watch on camera.
Awesome video as always Seth...and nice dirt jumping sir!!
+Willbros Kevin did ride some BMX, and Phil is a beast!
I ride at Ray's MTB park in Cleveland when weather is bad, and Phil could do anything in that video. Good job Phil!
Yay a new video my life is now worth living
you wanted to die? If so that is kinda sad.
Christian Hansen r/woooosh
Super cool video and thanks for the cavern showcase, Phil was awesome too. Take Care!
Great video highlighting the joys of the Louisville Megacavern.
I'm no mountain biker, but this is incredibly mesmerizing and fun.
YOU FINALLY WENT THERE OH MY GOSSSSSSSSSHHHHHH; I've been there twice. Loved it both times and never wanted to leave. Once the adrenaline kicks in, it doesn't kick out!!
I"m from England even our caverns are wet..
Ik they usually flood even when it doesn't rain (that's a rare thing in England)
@@nathanhart8229 There's an abandoned Dirt track in the Brighton and Hove area, it's actually really nice when it's not wet. Just needs some maintenance and better jumps and it would be sick!
There's dirt factory and flyup downhill 417
StiX yo man, where is this? I'm local to there!
This place is amazing, I can feel the cool, dusty air through the screen!
who else just loves that satisfying sound of tyres on dirt
Oh yes
Is there anything Phil can't do?!
+TrailRiderMTB Not sure he could do it on inline skates
Seth's Bike Hacks lol
He can't lick his elbow
Is that a challenge? @Phil
TrailRiderMTB keep his bones in tact
Hey Seth. Keep you the great videos
When the weather's crap, just pump up the pressure and ride street like a boss đ€
I have been riding cyclocross for 4 years, so I love to ride my mtb in the mud. It gives me so many memories. Btw I sold my cx, because i am 1.90 meters tall and I bought that bike when i was 1.60 meters tall. I bought a mtb because you inspired me to buy a bike where i can learn crazy tricks. Thank you man, keep up the amazing awesome work.
Dammit, I went there a month before.......
I WILL MEET THE MTB GODD...
the sound of the dirt is sooo satisfying
This is one of my favorite video of yours and I've watched it about 5 times
the real question is.. did he do the high five 2:07
that was my question
I heard a slap
Definitely not. You can see him retract before he goes out of frame
Official Sethâs Bike Hacks shirts and jerseys available from The Drop shop-the-drop.com/collections/seths-bike-hacks-collection Tell me which shirt is your favorite and Iâll message one of you randomly for a free one.
Seth's Bike Hacks id have to say my fave is the short sleeve jersey
Long sleeve jersey
The Long sleeve one
My favourite is the short sleeve jersey it looks pretty rad!!
I love the design of the short sleeve jersey, And it would be great for the hot freaking weather over here in Sydney, Australia!
I'm from north Sweden and we have up to 6 snow moths per year. Waiting for trails to get dry sucks. I'm riding a full suspended snowscoot with powder skis equipped on local ski slopes and some times big mountain powder. It's great for keeping firt wintertime behing a bar and you try harder jumps/tricks without hurting yourself much. A huge plus is that we have a bigairbag on a local ski slope in our town.
From mining engineer perspective, it's impressive that the cavern is still safe for people to be in. Usually, a room is kept safe during mining process, then is filled or left for caving in by itself.
Your videos are my therapy!! Thanks Seth.
I wish i could have ride there!
seth u r aweseome
I subscribed to both you and Phil before I ever knew you both hung out. I was so stoked to see you together for the first time, being you both are my favorite channels. Great video! Cheers!
Its hilarious to see you guys riding sections that I thought were not even sections when I was there last week. So much gnarl!
Underground Heaven đ
Wait I think I saw you enter that cave. I was there to go zip lining with my family. It was also snowing, and it looks like my car is there too
You lie or for real?
Cedric Ye for real
@@theofficialnerd4449 OK cool I belive you
I love when you and Phil do collaborations. Iâd ride with these fun loving dudes getting silly on bikes.
When the weather is shitty I tend to still go to the same spots that I ride in the dry, but with more tools in my backpack in order to be able to do repairs on jumps and cut new sections of trail. I may be a little obsessed with my own little slice heaven.
I went there when it was being built
Thumbnail just says "here in my cave, with my brand new bike you know what i like more than my bike? Dirt trail i ride a brand new dirt trail everyday"
That place looks awesome! Love that you and Phil team up on these videos too.
That bike park is insane
I ride inside my apartment when the weather is bad
âHE SMEASHED ITâ
Phils mustache and hair tells me all I need to know about his riding style! đđ
This video is so satisfying, some of the smoothest riding I have ever seen.
In Iceland where the weather isn't ever cooperating, I ride anyway. I just go until I can't anymore, and learn my lesson. Guess its the Vikings in my blood.
So much to comment on this bad ass vid! I'll just say my favorite line was "Jesus he smeashed it!"
Sweet! Right in my hometown gotta love this place. Keep up the great content!
Really great to see Phil out on the shred again!
Seth looking like Danny Mackaskill out there man
Seth's Wee Day Out
The road biker guy should make a channel on his progression to mtb
Yo Seth. When the weather has me down. I always in my house. Running into tables. putting holes in the walls. Breaking stuff. Put a crack in our granite counter. Now that's what I call gnarly charlie!!!!
That cave is just amazing!
In England so we just ride the trails... if we waited will it was dry we wouldn't get out
+MediumSkills thatâs what I hear. You guys must build really well armored trails! â°
That and constant maintenance...my trails are currently coated in about 3inches of mud... although If you get a chance check out Havok bike park the guys that build there are incredible!
MediumSkills so true
In San Diego so we also just ride the trails...If we waited till it was wet we wouldnât get out
MediumSkills I do love a good bit of mud in the winter, kills your bike though
Seth you look scared AF ^_^
last byte itâs scary when Phil starts looking for lines!
Went there 2 years ago, absolutely loved it, didnt do any jump tracks tho, loved the pump tracks
In 2020 Kevin is going to have a jump named after him on your own backyard mountain trails đ€đŒ itâs so rad to see how much has changed in the last 2 years
The only time i wish i lived in america
i would never live there not even for this Australia is the best country and everyone else can go eat their own shit. except for maybe the uk
Brian Richards i literally would only live there because of the mtb trails
Brian Richards oh also what are some good trails in australia btw i live there
me too
wow I would have thought Australia would have tons of great trails. sorry man
Give me the coordinates; I wanna teleport there!

Dude! Amazing videos is all what you do !!!!!!!!. Incredible. I just want to ride with you on all those trails. Keep on doing ! Perfect!!!!! Cheers. Pablo
Road biking sucks so much. You almost get hit by cars everybody hates you and what they consider technical we consider a fire Road.
MichaelTV44 ikr
yeah your right
Cars trying to hit you does suk though. And whiskey bottles thrown out car windows at you. Because you know the driver is drunk too. I ride road when I don't have time to load the bike up on the car and drive to the good trails an hour away. Gotta work...
Phil's brain man... I don't know how he sees these lines but damn; that was awesome
Hey Seth I ride out in the rain and mud sometimes you gotta rough it or I go watch your channel. Love your videos. Will see you at Sea Otter Classic
Love it man! You and Phil rip!!!
That looks like a ton of fun!
Y'all are some good folks!
I had read about that but you really brought it to life, so thanks, Seth.
Great video! My cousin and I just went up to Bretton Woods in New Hampshire for some fat bike riding in the snow. A few OTB moments but when you're landing in a pillow of soft snow, its no big deal!
So glad you got Phil out again. Sad to say I haven't ridden in this cold. Maybe I need to move again
During the winter I like riding at Mike's Bike Park in Dayton, Ohio. It has an indoor bike park with multiple floors and has a full-on bike shop right when you come in. I don't get to ride there as often as I would like to but when I do have the time it's an absolute blast!
That place is soooo AWESOME!!!! I wish there was something like that on the west coast!
Just found your channel. To my surprise about five videos in you find my home town. Nice
