I love your smile! John absolutely does have a great voice and vocal range. They were ALL so talented and all came from Liverpool. What were the odds of 4 such talented guys meeting up when they were young, and ended up becoming the most popular band ever? John met Paul when he was 16. It took off from there!

I think this may have been their last ever "live performance"?? One thing that I've come to appreciate about The Beatles recently is just how good of a bass player Paul McCartney was. If you zero in on and really listen to that base guitar during songs like this, it's absolutely melodic. Amazing musicianship across the entire band!

The world suddenly went from noir black and white to vivid colour.
The 60’s was utterly magical, and these boys played a HUGE part in that.
Such sweet carefree days were the vibe was music and parties, and parties and music.

This was recorded at the rooftop of the Apple (Beatles Label not the Apple Phone of today) Studios and Offices in London....I think 1969. If you look at the frame with the British Police, that shows you the organist, Billy Preston. Billy played on the Let It Be album which this song is from. Eventually, the police told the Beatles not to play anymore due to noise concerns on the roof.

That IS John Lennon on lead vocals, George Harrison on wondrous soul lead guitar (channeling his friend Jimi Hendrix's soul-funk stylings), of course Ringo grooving on the drums, and Paul McCartney delivering one of his grooviest bass sides. And canna we give praise -- HIGH PRAISE -- to the great BILLY PRESTON on the keys; Billy Preston would go on to become a major soul-rock/funk star in his own right during the 1970s after the Beatles broke up, writing and performing such hits as "Will It Go Round In Circles," "Nothing from Nothing," and the like. An American master, Billy Preston met and became a brah of the band in Hamburg, Germany, way back in the early 1960s, when Billy and the Fab Fah ("fab four," aka "The Beatles") were all unknown, rough-n-ready R&B soul rockers.
The Beatles, of course, exert influences to this very day: Michael Jackson made Lennon's high octave impovs at the end a signature of his own stylings, and the sheer diversity and wild innovation of the Beatles' range -- boy band, avant garde experimentation, heavy metal, World Music/Indian Raga, blues, folk, funk-rock, etc., etc., --directly influenced that also wildly diverse, wonderfully weird, blazingly innovative rock genius PRINCE, himself. The Beatles' "concept album" format -- Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, Abbey Road, et al.--influenced such towering rock-era geniuses as Marvin Gaye (What's Goin' On), Stevie Wonder (Inner Visions, Songs in the Key of Life, etc.), as well as the concept album breakthroughs of later generation titans, such as Eminem and Dre, (Dre and Eminem are arguably the Lennon-McCartney of Rap/Hip Hop, I wager), Mary Blige, and of course, Beyoncé.
But in a way, there's a poetic, poignant justice in all of this, as African-American musical genius, culture(s),and complex intellectualism exerted ENORMOUS, lifelong influence upon the Beatles, as songs such as "Something" and "Don't Let Me Down" so clearly demonstrate.

They are all singers and song writers. Paul is my favorite and his music after the Beatles really shined a light on just how talented he was. His first album after the Beatles he recorded by himself at home; he played all instruments and did all vocals and none of his recording equipment was professional because all their money was tied up in litigation and they were living in pretty rustic conditions living off of Linda's savings. His next band was called, Paul McCartney and The Wings. Here is one song he did by himself. czcams.com/video/cdDPR8GzXy8/video.html

The word diverse hardly covers the Beatles, They had three excellent song writers and singers and played together since very young.. , Through hard clubs with long shifts as unknowns, playing old time rock n roll standards mostly, Some ballads , Then after their first album started writing thier own material and every album was a revelation of new music . But you had to live through the times to really get that aspect fully ..
