    As usual, wonderful stretch session from my two favorite ladies. I did yoga for years, then studied in Canada at an ashram in a lovely spot. I ran a Yoga Club at the high school where I taught for over ten years, getting teens to turn off their phones for an hour and a half. Quite a feat! I taught for forty-three years, then retired due to many changes in administration and changes in my heart condition. After having a hip replaced, I lost much of my flexibility and backed away from yoga, preferring instead to concentrate on finally being able to walk again for long distances. Long story short, Iko and April are helping me to get my groove back. Thank you so much, Iko and April, for helping me and so many of us out here. You are great hearts and gentle with all of us. Much gratitude.

    What a sweet, delightful Yoga session! The 3 novel moves (triangle, wide open v legs, modified warrior) were a lovely surprise. Your last position was also a part of your first chair Yoga routine. I practiced this one yesterday and today after I did my exercises for the day. I was very tired today, but after doing this one I felt rejuvenated. You should add more to your chair Yoga repertoire, April. I believe many will be turning to them for the still calmness they deliver. Aiko, you looked like a seasoned chair Yoga practitioner. Thank you, April...Anastasia

    Hello there April, Aiko and of course Mochi,
    It's so good to be able to take your shoes off and relax at least for a 10-minute Chair Yoga routine. I completed about 35 minutes earlier this morning with the 55+ age group of ladies, as were late starting (we waited on others) and stopped early (lunch and field trip planned). So, imagine my amazement that I was able to do this session as well, as I feel like I have completed my 45 minutes today anyway.
    April, thanks so much for the video of Aiko completing her 1-mile Rock Walk and walking to the Hot Dog stand named in her honor. The hotdog looked delicious and it was so well deserved in Aiko’s successful accomplishments over the last three years.
    Thanks again for the chair yoga video along with Aiko’s obtained success over the last three years. April, keep on with the positive videos and loving your precious mom and Mochi every day.

      Hi there! First, we are so sorry for the long delay in replying. For some reason, we did not receive your message when it was posted and are only seeing it now. We are so happy and honored that our workouts have helped you physically and mentally since the beginning of the pandemic. Great job on keeping active all this time! We recommend seeing your doctor and/or physical therapist to determine the cause of your frozen shoulders and the best remedies for them. With that said, we can create a gentle shoulder workout to help strengthen the muscles around the shoulder joint and increase flexibility around it. Thank you for the suggestion. On a personal note, I had frozen shoulder and went through physical therapy for 6 months and it worked for me -- the most important thing was to do the gentle exercises everyday to slowly increase the range of motion. One simple exercise I did everyday was to stand facing a wall, place the fingertips of one hand on the wall, and then slowly crawl my fingers up the wall to the point where I felt tension. Over time, I was able to crawl my fingers up the entire wall, which meant the range of motion in my shoulder joint increased. Wishing you good health and strength!     Thank you SO much for doing the chair modifications! I have long awaited these as I had tried to use chair with some of my favorite workouts and just could not keep up with the pace, in spite of them saying "this IS your workout, go at your own pace....they would be done and I would still be 10 minutes behind = quite the turnoff. I pretty much returned to outdoor walking as my form of exercise. Have just recently started back to adding weights back into my workouts. I found quickly that had to start back at the beginning with those.....age can humiliate quickly if not careful. I tend to pyramid - start with the heavier 5# and pyramid back down to 3# and than water bottles to help ease some of the soreness. Taking water breaks during the sessions also helps. Blessings to the both of you for sharing with us

    Thank you for another great workout to improve flexibility and strength. A question for Aiko: were you quite active before you and April started this channel during the lockdown? Or did you pretty much start as a beginner?

      Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the workout! Mom says Hi and only since she started doing the yes2next workouts has she gotten the exercise "bug" and feels stronger and more active! Living with a personal trainer helps too but consistent exercising has increased her stamina and strength. She also sleeps better after working out too! All in all, yes2next.com has been a big hit with her and she is happy to get others to get off the couch and move too! 🧡

      Hi Rose! You are a young 72 year old! We applaud you for making a commitment to build muscle and get stronger. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans. The strength training should challenge your entire body -- allow at least 1 day of rest between sessions for a particular muscle group. Since you're just starting out with resistance training, ease into it and determine your fitness level. Here are a few suggestions: Here is a video on how to select the right weight/resistance: bit.ly/3NPnDYq Here is a video on how to breathe (includes how to breathe during strength training): bit.ly/3PTkEi4 Now determine your fitness level for strength training: Try any of our 5 minute workouts that focus on upper body, lower body, and core: bit.ly/3sWJyD3 Do the workouts with or without weights.     Dear April I have just done this routine with you and I did not stop yawning all of a sudden and tears rolling down my face. So strange for this to happen when stretching . Could you explain why it happens.
    I love stretching. Do you tell me which links you do it and if you don’t have exercises on it also using elastic bands could you do some. I love exercising with you. Fernanda

    When I do the triangle pose, my left knee will hurt. How could I modify this? I have a bad knee.

      Hi there! We're so happy our videos are helping you! Since your left knee hurts in this position, try keeping it bent and moving it more in front of you rather that straight out to the side. Bringing your arm overhead will still give you a nice side stretch on your right side.Keep moving and stretching! ❤️

    in general i am not practising any yoga exercises, as i am not that mobile in my joints. But this unit was doable for me and did me very good. Will repeat this unit from time to time. thanks a lot for this.

Since the spring of this year, we've done our best to add calorie counts to the descriptions of most of our workouts, especially the cardio and strength workouts (we appreciate your patience and understanding for the missing ones!) For this workout, below are the estimated calorie burns for:
      🔥 A 120 lb (54.4 kg) person: 10 calories
      🔥 A 200 lb (90.7 kg) person: 26 calories
      Please note that these estimates are rough calculations and don't take into account individual variations, such as fitness level, and other factors that can affect calorie burn. Additionally, these estimates include the calories burned during the exercise itself and do not account for the calories burned at rest or through other activities throughout the day.❤️
