- While only a few years ago, the 2010s was a decade of rapid innovation in basketball footwear technologies. A lot of the faces of the NBA that you know today, had some groundbreaking sneakers release. Think of Kevin Durant and his Nike KD4 or LeBron James with his Nike LeBron 8. These shoes set a new bar in both performance and style. In this video we take a look back at some of the best basketball shoes from the 2010s'. Enjoy!

In the early 2010s, D Rose kicks also had a huge impact. Also, in 2012-2014, the Kobe 8, LeBron X, KD 6, and the annual Nike Basketball Elite Series had everyone by their toes.
I completely forgot about the Adidas D rose! I still got a couple pairs buried in the stash!
Yea adidas made a team / budget line of the DRose called the Crazy Shadow or something and it was really high quality and you could get last years model at Academy for $60. I played those in aau and high school but then in college I was given a pair of nike hyper dunks prolly 2014 and fell in love. Nike Hyper Dunk is the greatest show of all time and when they replaced it with the Alphadunk and Zoom Rize I was devastated
The OG Hyperdunks looked soo sick. I wanted a pair real bad but they were so expensive back in the day

Man..the Hyperdunk 2012. I loved hoopin in those. I wish Nike dropped kicks like that with a ton of colors, enough for anyone to purchase on demand.

2009 to 2010 was a crazy year for basketball shoes. Kobe V, KD2, and Lebron 8s were all in retail (my personal favs from each line). OG and 2010 Hyperdunks were amazing too. Even adidas was building hype for their bounce and crazy light lines. Fun times picking which shoe to get back then!
The hyperdunk 2011 is weirdly enough what got me into shoes...still got my nike ID hyperdunk 2012s too lol

I’m really happy that Under Armour started to retro the Curry 1s last year, as I finally got a pair of the Dub Nation Home colorway of the Curry 1. But man, I remember back then in 2015 and 2016, Curry 1s and 2s were really impossible to get. Resellers here in the Philippines and neighboring countries such as Hong Kong kept buying out all stocks and resold them for way over retail price. Steph not only impacted the game of basketball in a major way, his signature shoe line also had a big impact to basketball sneaker culture.
Kyrie’s and D Rose were a big part of the 2010’s too.

Great video, man. What a nostalgia trip. The great thing about these sneakers is that they're relatively attainable price and availability wise compared to products coming out today. I'm certain it's hard to find good examples of sneakers from this era because they're so good people actually used them for hooping.
IMO Nike's Elite series for the post-season is also worth mentioning in a good and bad way. Good because I think that's when they realized people are ready for no-compromise 'upgraded' versions of already pretty good products bud bad because I believe that's what started the steady price increase of hoop shoes since then.

What a great era in sneakers! I still got the Christmas Lebron 8’s, creamsicle kd4’s, Easter kd5’s and another colorway (I used to love kd5’s but looking back they were kinda mid haha the 4’s are still heavy hitters tho for sure!), the ink Kobe 5, white black and red Lebron 7’s, prism Lebron 10, freegums Lebron 9, the USA and Easter Lebron 9 lows, a couple lebron 11’s and 1 pair of 12’s, fighter jet, gym green and Orlando foams and I even have a pair of hyperdunk 2009’s. Definitely a very different time in sneakers!

Back in 2011, I was a high school junior and my basketball coach asked all the players on the team to wear black/white/green kicks for game day (our school color is green). I got my Hyperdunks Michigan State Carrier Classic. Super slick. They still my favorite sneakers til this day.
Time Flies. I remember when the KD line was alternating from mid to low that was from KD 1 to 6 i think.

Even though I'm more well off now, I grew up in a family with not much money. I remember my brother was super excited when he got his KDs for like $75, because to us growing up that was an expensive and high quality shoe.

Favourite pair was a Red Suede Fila somethings from the late 90s.... don't know what they're called, wasn't interested in names then.
Wore the sole out loooong time ago but always kept them.
Saw a cool trick where you can re sole boots with your choice of mountain bike tires.
Current kicks are a sweet pair of Red Dollar Dames and last years Curry's in all white.
Feeling the itch again for something fresh.
my first adidas shoes back in 2010 was hot as heck my foot really gets hot due in part to the leather uppers but since then ive been seeing more mesh type materials

This was a great era of basketball sneakers across the board, lot of great color ways came out too.
It's crazy I was just thinking recently wtf happened to Foamposites? I remember back in like 2012-14 everybody was crazy about Foams, one of my brothers friends had hella pairs and back then I wasn't super in to shoes so I thought they looked kinda ugly but now I think they're pretty clean. Does Nike still even produce them anymore? I hope they bring them back because I'd def get a pair.
I still remember myself wanting a pair of big bang 9’s back then. Yes they released again and sitting on shelves here. The price is too much. It’s around $225, with that price I’d rather buy Jordans

I came up on 2 used pairs of Foams somehow. The soles were cooked. I got rid of them a few years ago. I regret it so much.

Maybe in 2020s nobody wears or cares about Curries but in 2015 and 16 when Curry was taking off, people calling him better than Bron, the 73-9 season, Curries were getting popular and people were giving them attention. Kudos to the guy who made the video for remembering.
