- Today I will be showing you how to hack and also reset your Ninebot Max on a Windows computer. Apple users require an app called scooter companion to be able to install and currently you cannot get into the app as the beta is full. This is the alternative.

Hey thanks for the walkthrough on this, very helpful. I just upgraded my Ninebot Max wheel/motor from 1st gen to 2nd gen today.
Max cruising speed has gone from 26kph to 33kph, those 7kms make a noticeably fun difference to my modest scooter, BTW I weigh 100kg (220lbs).

Thanks for putting this video together! After watching several times I decided to have a go at updating my G30Max. Sadly in the Ninebot Flasher app, the pairing process doesn't go as smoothly for me. When it successfully lists my scooter in the scan results, the three parameters underneath the name of my scooter says:
- IsPaired: False, IsConnected: False, IsConnectable: False.
The key one being "IsConnectable: False"
Attempting to connect to it just times out and it never asks me to press a button to pair like it did in your video. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue or any suggestions?
I had that happen too. I was using my laptop to flash my scooter firmware and it turned out my scooter was already connected to my phone app. I turned off bluetooth on my phone and the the laptop was able to connect. Hope that helps.

Love your videos, big fan & just subbed (after watching loads of ur content) 🙂 Quick question....when do you think the rules will change re: riding on roads legally? And, do you think we will have them taxed, mot, etc? I have a G30 also and got my first warning the other day off some total wetbag of a copper. I was riding it on private land in a housing area where one side of the road is private to residents only. Anyway, he was about to take it off me until I told him we were on private land and he proceeded to tell me I was wrong and he was right, bla bla bla, but he didn't take my scooter. I did get the old, "next time i see you on it it's mine!" threat. So anyways, back to my original question and to elaborate a little more, what law do you think will apply in the future for 15.5mph scooters like ours?
Thanks for the video with the updated website :) My Ninebot went from 20 km to 26km. Is there any way to get it up to 33 like you mentioned in the video? And unfortunately my front light does not switch on anymore. Any tips for this?

Hello. Great instructions. i keep getting 'write page 0 7 failed' 'retry write page 0'....... and it loops for a bit then stops, IE,firmware doesn't update. Any solutions?
Does this method work if your scooter's firmware has been updated to the latest DRV? I bought a scooter from someone and they had updated the firmware to DRV 1.8.7
What settings for gen 2 motor?

Hi, I bought a g30 max with firmware 1.7.13 and unfortunately I learned that it doesn't take the variation of the country of origin to be able to go at 30km per hour. Is there any solution? 🙏
Hello. I recently got a used Segway ninebot g30 max. But the person I had bought it from accidentally deleted his binded account before he unbinded it. I'm wondering how I can unbind my used scooter or maybe factory reset it? But I've done the factory reset where you
1. Pull the brake fully
2. Throttle accelerate fully
3. Then press and hold power button
4. Until scooter turns off.
What do I do with the file once downloaded it. To get it onto the scooter.

Hi, I am in Australia. I have tried the custom tune through the ninebot-flasher, I have also changed the name of my scooter. It always fails, I have tried it around 12 times.

Hey, great video. I followed all your instructions and then when I got to the part where I click "Flash" all of the progress steps that it shows like 1%, 2%, 3% etc had the word "failed" next to them. I have a Ninebot Max 2nd gen motor. Any ideas?

Have you tried to reset the connection on your laptop? Sometimes you gotta keep trying. There’s a communication issue with Bluetooth sometimes
Oh I forgot to mention. You could try changing the name of your scooter through the Ninebot app. This worked for me once

Hello! Thanks for the video!:) I did everything you showd in your video. But mine only goes to 26 KM/H. I live in Sweden, don't know if it has something to do with it? I still changed the country to US as you mentioned in your video. And also I'm wondering if it's possible after flashing this like this to install the original app and software from ninebot? Try flashing the scooter again. As for the orginal firmware, you can do that by downloading the file from scooterhacking.org and install it the same way. This will not affect the app too much

In nicht EU Ländern ist der Generation 2 motor verbaut der deutlich mehr Leistung bringt. Ich hoffe ich konnte helfen 🙂

Does this work since the 1.6.7 update? As I’ve noticed this prevents downgrading the firmware and wondered if this will bypass that restriction that ninebot put in place

@@totoheirbaut5985 unfortunately not, the only way around the downgrade restriction is to replace the speed controller inside with one that hasn’t been updated, this will then allow you to use the Bluetooth to install custom firmware again aye.
Has anyone got this to work on a G30E II yet? Tried mine today and it just errored out all of the steps.

ninebot flasher when I hit start scan, nothing happens. I have windows 10 machine.
I have just mistakenly updated the firmware on my ninebot max g30. HAVENT managed to get out on it since and have come across posts stating that Segway restricted the speed through firmware updates.
The firmware upgraded to v1.8.7.
Is my scooter restricted? If so is this tutorial still valid?
Did you find any solutions, cant seem to downgrade or flash with any of the apps avaible...
@@Qeqoification I haven’t used my scooter but I did run a bit of maintenance on it, tested the top speed and while on a stand (not riding) it was still reaching 19mph

Hey! I've been trying a few methods already and this one also didn't work.. when I flash the file, It says "Write page 0 9 failed, retray write page 0" been trying to restart and did quite a few times.

hello, I have NINEBOT G30E II , and so not want flash , nothing, cant update any way. Is connecting to app from phone from windows but not getting update at all. In the app from windows when choosing file and push flash when updating appearing ´´ Write page 0 9 FAILED´´ . Do you know what can be ? and also any app on android not working too.

I believe this is still relevant. However I haven’t checked for a little while. There maybe some minor changes

hey bro thx for the video but i made a huge mistake today i think and updated the firmware cuz i didnt used my scooter for 2 years now and thought it might be good , but now my speed hack is gone and this method dont work for resetting , it says upadted failed. My experience on the Ninebot G30 max
The process went well, the flashing no problems.
Now the drive mode has more torque than Sport and has gained 5km/h.
Sport is weak af.
And I can't charge it anymore.
FYI, the only thing I changed was the speed sliders, nothing else.
So I guess I basically bricked it when the juice is up

Which basically means it will make 25 with me on it. Before it could do 25 but hovered around 22 when riding normal
@@K81Sweden gotchya. I have the US version which out of the box it goes 20MPH/ 32KPH with me on it when fully charged
My ninebot g30e ii is stuck in DE mode and i’m not getting it out of it ? Normal resetting /re-boot , is not working….
Tried to put de vanilla software in it , no succes … getting errors .

I had the same problem. I went from a stock working scooter to a bricked scooter.
I’ve accidentally updated my firmware on my ninebot MAX G30D II, I’ve heard this means I won’t be able to do this. Am I screwed?

I did this an my scooters back wheel didnt go than i updated. Segway ninebot app now it gos 28 back what did i do wrong just wanted to make it faster :(

You can’t unfortunately. They trialled an app but was taken down. You can see if a friend with an android phone will be able to help you

As far as I can tell whatever Segway did recently makes these flashing hacks not work. You can "pair" to the app but when you try to send the file it fails to write. You will also see when you scan and see your scooter the "connectable: false" instead of what's displayed on your video of "connectable: true".
Well for me when I press the power button to pair it just turns off any help?

You cannot with the app. However you maybe able to wing changing the controller. But why would you want to reset the mileage?

You need to turn on on Bluetooth on ur scooter and make sure ur laptop has Bluetooth as well to connect

after hitting flash it says “failed” how do i fix this
I have the same problem - regardless of which enc file i use, it done 1%, done 2% then page 8 7 FAILED then it does that a handful of times and the update fails

@@ScootLetsGo I tried the presets and made my own - using the ninebot-flasher ENC & application every time. I even tried to load the vanilla file but it all reacted the same way. My Ninebot Max already goes the 33 KPH as it's a US model but was hoping to take advantage of some of the other functions.
Could it be possible that the laptop is not connecting to the scooter via Bluetooth properly?

Unfortunately not. You need the flasher app which is only windows and android. They don’t like us apple users

First day after hack: 28 km/h
Second day: 27 km/h
Third day: 25 km/h
Fourth day: 22 km/h
The limit speed before hack is
eco is 12 km/h
Normal S is 15 km/h
Red S is 18 km/h
and my scooter has been used for two years
I feel for your message at the beginning, but you are out of you mind if you think there is ANY way to stop the coming legislative problems. Even if you had millions to campaign for people to be considerate, there would always be many more people who are dumb/selfish/ignorant etc. and will cause the accidents that trigger problems. Been that way since Socrates time, and literally only getting worse.

However, I’m not always going to the same in every video. I want to give the information to people and hope that helps them. Surely the way I act sometimes doesn’t stop that?
